My second time watching this Met HD Live performance. And it was as good as the first time. I left with a big smile on my face which doesn't happen much these days. Just wish the Met would re-broadcast other operas. Especially loved the discounted price!

This was a superb production and an exceptional cast whose vocal and acting skills brought their characters vividly to life. There were times when it was genuinely LOL funny. I cannot imagine a better production of this opera and I am so glad the Met has offered this to the wider public. I would not hesitate to recommend this as an introduction to opera for the novice BRAVO.

Wonderful performances and a delightful production in an air-conditioned theater on the hottest evening of the year in Seattle. That's the way to beat the heat! A side note: reading other reviews and based on my own experience it is clear that audio and lighting difficulties are sometimes a local issue and not a transmission problem, as I had previously thought. Clearly management needs to be contacted, if a performance does not seem adequate.

The opera itself was great. However, Tyson's AMC Theatre really messed up the technical running of the show. The beginning and end of the opera were cut off and the audience had to exit in the dark. I am interested in other operas shown in this fashion, but will not attend them at Tysons.

Fabulous venue in which to watch opera. Loved being in a comfortable seat wearing comfortable clothes, eating popcorn and not paying hundreds to watch a beautiful opera. Close-ups of faces, costumes, sets plus great sound. I recommend it !

I saw this encore presentation of "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at the AMC theater complex in Emeryville, CA. The projected image was so dark that faces were sometimes hardly visible. When the characters were reading a letter or tossing a Valencia orange around, you wondered how they could see it. When the staging required singers to walk out on the narrow thrust stage, you feared they would stumble in the dark and fall into the audience, or the pit. Toward the end, the video image disappeared entirely, while the sound continued. So the visual experience was a disaster. The singing, however, was superb.

It was an amazing, breathtaking experience - the performance was perfect in all senses - voices, acting, production - everything was just fantastic! The only problem that we had in the beginning was extremely high volume of the sound - I totally agree with one of the reviewers that it would be nice if the operators could test the sound before the opera starts - after all, we are supposed to feel ourselves as sitting in the Met! But otherwise it was 2.5 hrs of a total delight. Thank you for this opportunity and I am definitely going to as many HD productions as I can!
