The movie is very musical and that's why I would say this is only interesting for kids (lower than 10 !!!). For adults, I would never recommend this movie unless you enjoy watching your kid(s) when they're laughing and having good time. The 3D effects are very basic and simple that do not add any value to the movie.

I actually thought this was as good as the 1st and 2nd Madagascar movies. I LOVED the 3D effects. I have watched several different movies in 3D and this had by far the best 3D effects in it. I thought the story line was ok but what they did with it was very good. I liked the new characters that were in this movie and overall I thought this was a very good movie.

Nothing new to add that wasn't covered in Madagascar 1 and 2. Jokes are often predictable and the story line is mediocre. Still, entertaining enough to warrant an hour and a half with the kids.

This is an excellent movie for both adults and kids. We all had a great time. Could only get in at 8:55pm, but my grandchildren, alone with one who is 4 years old . She stayed wide awake the whole time. You've got to take the kids to see this one. It is so, so refreshing. Enjoy "Nana/Grandkids" day!

Our kids (9 and 8) enjoyed it, but my husband and I - who loved the two prior Madagascar movies - found this one boring with a silly story line. I napped through some of it. Too bad - we just assumed it would be as good as the last two.

My wife and I took our grand daughters to see the movie, we all enjoyed it very much. The movie was a colorful, funny and kept our attention glued to the screen.
I haven't seen my grand daughters attention so captured by a movie in a long time, as we all children they are usually running around, then watching some of the movie. We this one they didn't leave their seats once.

We took our granddaughter (age 6) to this movie and we all loved it and had a great time! The 3-D effects are wonderful and the colors bright. The story itself was fast-moving, funny, and touching and the music helped to heighten the emotions. There were plenty of messages for families such as "helping each other", "working together", "awareness that "what we want may not always be what we thought we wanted", and that "we can obtain our dreams". We were pleasantly surprised to be so entertained and our granddaughter wants to see it again!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great music, entertaining for adults and children

Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe are still trying to get back to the New York Zoo.
This installment of the Madagascar gang finds them romping across Europe as part of a Circus trying to elude a French Police Woman (Frances McDormand) who has a mantle full of animal bust, but does not have a lion's head. The French Police Woman sees an opportunity to get her coveted prize so she chases Alex (Ben Stiller) and the gang all the way to New York. The story unfolds from there...
Absolutely Crazy Funny, Colorful, Action Packed, Light-Hearted and Silly!! You will laugh your head off. The technical work for the movie is great!! The animation is really good and the cinematography is fabulous.
If you liked the other installments of the Madagascar Gang, then you should see this one, it's better then the second installment Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa.
"Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" gets the summer animation movies off to a good start.
I myself am looking forward to a fourth installment!!

As always, a fabulous job by all actors! The special effects were dazzling along with the storyline. However, while sitting in the theatre I found myself saying "I hope the Madagascar series ends on this high note. I really don't want to sit through another one." It's a must see, but I hope it's the "farewell' version.

I loved the first two films in the series, but this one fell flat almost from the beginning. The sharp, snappy dialogue and witty jokes of the first two became rather mundane this time around. Sight gags that worked in the first two were retread again but not as well, and the story jumped across continents and seas so fast it made you wonder why getting home to the zoo in NYC was such a seemingly impossible task in the first two. Worst yet, they're chased around Europe by a French female animal control officer whose character is so flat that I found myself hoping the old Jewish lady from the first two would show up and never did. All in all, watching this film became so tedious that I fell asleep near the end missing about 5 minutes and woke up not caring about what I had missed. I paid for eight kids and adults to see this, none of them were impressed, and I wish I could have asked for my money back. Let's face it, even the Avengers couldn't save this turkey!!!

I can overlook a lot of what others would complain about if I have fun at the movies. But this movie doesn't have a lot to complain about. There are a couple of hiccups in the storyline. But the plot is developed pretty well and includes multiple areas of conflict that provide several feel good moments as they come to resolution. The multiple areas of conflict make it more of a story than a cartoon, good for young minds developing an understanding of good storytelling. I could have done without some of the violence. Some of it was incidental to unfolding events, but some seems to suggest it is right to inflict pain in retaliation, which is not only unnecessary but inhumane. 3D visually appealing in many scenes and probably added greatly to the circus trapeze scenes, even though it was used gratuitously in some of the opening scenes.
