Tthis movie was actually really entertaining. The story was fun, but I felt some parts were rushed, like the leading actress was somewhat underdeveloped and not enough dance scenes. I was happy to see some comedy too. Overall a great movie for a date night and you'll be sure to walk out smiling.

I loved it! Same story and the important lines were still there but there was still an element of surprise as to what would happen or be said next. Miles Teller was an awesome Willard - I was laughing so hard. Definitely will buy when it comes out on DVD!

I went in the theater being a complete pessimist, but was completely surprised by my feelings after watching the movie. Really the only thing that bothered me was that Julianne Hough looked way too old for the part, and that sometimes the accents seemed a bit fake. Other than that I really can't complain! My suggestion is, don't go in there comparing every detail to the original, it's not worth it. Go in with an open mind and your dancing shoes!

This remake was as close to the original as any I've seen! There is some revising to update it a little & some additional footage that clarified some of the original movie's plot lines.
Julianne Hough easily pulled off the illusion of her still being a high school student, as did all the actors. As sweet & pure as she seems to be in her real life, she was excellent in portraying the angst filled & rebelliously gritty teen. Some of her lines were a little shocking, but true to the movie. Actually I barely recognized her in the first few scenes.
The ending was definitely a stand up & cheer for the good guy underdog character. There were several very humorous scenes most involving Willard's learning to dance. Renn was clever & persuasive in all his conversations throughout the movie. I heard several "yea's" from other movie-goers & widespread clapping following his speech to the town council. Folks left the movie humming, singing and/or dancing. It left you with a very uplifting feeling making me wish I could still boogey.

Kenny & Julianne did an amazing job acting and dancing, great remake, saw it twice already and will see it again. The beginning was awesome and unexpected. I was 18 when I saw the original in 1984 but I only saw it once. But both old and new Footloose were GREAT!

Overall good movie..I like the fact they changed the story line..The beginning was an awesome start un expected..The whole movie theater felt it. I absolutely love the original Footloose and have easily seen it 50 times if not more. I was worried that the remake would be cheesy and not nearly as good but was proved wrong. The remake was BETTER than the first! They updated many things to modern day but still managed to maintain the essence of the original. The cast was fantastic and the dancing was SOOOO great! I can't wait to see it again and buy it when it comes out on DVD.

The dancing was phenomenal; the music was great; the acting was good; the plot was kind of hokey, but so was the plot of the original movie. My 15 year old really liked it, my 12 year old did not like it as much. Definitely worth seeing but not because of the story - which isn't that memorable. Go see it for the dancing and music.

I was presently surprised early on in this movie when it hit me that it was going to be better than the original from 1984. They retained the simple, small-town nature of the original characters, updated the music, improved the dancing and choreography, and even the dialog was better. Don't get me wrong, the original Footloose is a classic dance movie and this will draw attention to it because it's well done. And by the way, Julianne Hough is very hot!
