When the dancing is happening on screen this movie knocks it out of the park. The 3D even makes it better! Step Up 3D takes a "step down" when the dancing stops and the interactive dialogue and the "necessary romantic plot-line" begins. An absolutely must see for the dance visuals in 3D! Exciting and gorgeous to watch!

There were 2 things I liked about this movie: the tight dancing and the quirky characters. If the plot line weren't so predictable and boring I might have enjoyed it more. It DID NOT live up to the first two movies (not that I expected it to) but to me Step up 3D was a let down. (even though the 3D was pretty cool)

Enjoyable and great fun. High Energy dancing. I can see one of the tracks making it to a nomination for best song. Rick Malambi in lead of first starring role. I'll love to see more of him in romantic and other roles. He's got the deep dark eyes for the camera. He's a hunk! Loved the 3D use for dance. Some of the script could have been better developed. But one of the most enjoyable movies this year. I think the best of the Step Up movies.

Step up 3D was awesome. Storyline was different than the first two which was great. Moose played the part great too. It was great to see some of the step up 2 cast. The last battle was awesome. As with all dance movies ("Breakin'" and "Breakin' 2: Electric Bugaloo" anyone?), the plot is really secondary to the dancing. No surprise with SU3D. Very corny plot with incredibly corny lines. However, the dance scenes were amazing! As I told my 12 year old daughter, break dancing started with my generation but her's has taken it to another level. I watch a lot of dance shows and youtube videos featuring LXD (League of Extraordinary Dancers) and many of them were in the movie. The first battle has an awesome robot scene. Adam Sevani ("Moose") took it to another level from SU2. He pulled off some incredible moves and IMO, he does the best Michael Jackson.
Adults: suspend reality for the not-so-good plot. The dancing is the real star of this movie. If you can, spend the money on the 3D.

Good variety of dance styles represented. It was fun to see tWitch in a movie. We attended opening night as part of a birthday party for 13-year-old girls, and they all liked it. Personally, I wouldn't have had to see this in 3D; I found the panning movement distractive. Excellent chemistry between all the people in this movie.

This movie was ok. The dancing was great, and that's what we went to see. I thought the 3D was frivolous- it didn't add anything to the movie. If anything, some pointless scenes were added just to make use of the 3D. Be prepared for some terrible acting as well. Despite this, I had a good time watching the dances.

I took my grandkids to this movie. It was interesting because the youngest girl loved the 3-D; the oldest boy loved the dance moves and the middle boy was bored. I found it predictable and average. Not too much I haven't already seen but if you love dance I would certainly recommend it. Otherwise, rent it.
