Took my twin 8 year olds and they enjoyed it. Some if it was over their heads but my husband and I laughed through most of it. It has me terrified about middle school for sure! It was fun entertainment and I have told friends to take their kids to see it.

My kids ages 9 and 6 loved this movie. I didn't like that the kids were always fighting and making fun of each other. Not a very good example for children. Having siblings is a blessing and should be viewed as such. The family was dysfunctional at best. It was a two parent family which was good to see in a movie.
Bullying was glorified as was general meanness to other kids.
It sets a bad example for children. I would not recommend it.

Took my 11-year old son to see the movie and we both thought it was great. He's read all the books and really liked it. Will definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out and I know he'll watch it over and over.

We took our three kids and their two cousins to this one; ages 7, 8, 10 and 13. Everyone enjoyed the show (adults included), but I believe the older kids got the most from this film; they are living this stuff right now, and it was at times a bitter-sweet experience to watch the characters endure the tough moments... all-in-all a well-done movie.

I took my 8 year old son to see this yesterday. After reading a few critical reviews, I was expecting a painful 2 hours. In fact, it was fairly entertaining. Far from a great movie, but my son liked it and I did better than survive. Typical extreme characters and plot lines limit the upside of this movie.
