This movie had so much buildup I was afraid of a massive letdown. The books are so great, after all. I wasn't disappointed though. There was enough cringeworthy stuff to keep us entertained throughout the whole movie, and the next day we are still laughing randomly at things when we think of them.

Absolutely loved it. Took my 2 boys ages 9 and 7 and our neighbor friend who is 10. My oldest son has read all the books and really liked the movie, but I think I enjoyed it the most. I think all the adults in the packed out theater enjoyed it as well, as there were many, many laugh-out-loud moments that the adults were just roaring at. Cute cute movie, a must see if you are a survivor of middle school/jr. high.

I organized a date night with a bunch of moms and their kids. There were 34 of us in total and we went to dinner and then the movie. We all thought it was a great movie. At some points I think the moms enjoyed it more than the kids because of them laughing out loud. Can't wait for the DVD to come out.

My 10 year old has read all of the books, and most of them out loud to me. I thought they did a terrific job of bringing the characters to life - especially Rowley & Fregley. He and I really enjoyed this movie - although we were a little confused about the new female character. But she added to rather than detracted from the story, so it didn't really matter. We're looking forward to owning the DVD, and hopefully, seeing another installment of the Wimpy Kid books soon!

I took my 12 year old ittle brother and 2 little cousins 10 and 12. They really enjoyed the movie. I thought the books were much better. We laughed through the whole movie but it almost showed that you shouldn't really be yourself if you want friends and want to fit in (it was kind of sad). My 12 year old son loved this movie. However, it was hard to watch how a boy, who is supposedly raised in a good home, continually makes selfish, hurtful and dangerous decisions over and over again. It's a movie on how to teach a boy how NOT to be a good friend. Thank goodness my son saw thru "Greg's" bad choices.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
