This is the first movie that my daughter (7 years old) has gone to see at a theater. It was a good movie for children around her age. It was good to see her want to watch a movie that was not an animation type movie. This movie didn't have any scenes that I had to "explain" to her and it didn't have any profanity. It did allow us to talk about being good friends. I was very pleased with the quality time it provided for me and my daughter.

The movie stayed true to the book and the kids did a good job acting. Given those two facts, it was very good movie and my son and his friend loved it. I enjoyed it as well and it was nice to remember what it's like to be in middle school again, thru the eyes of the kids.

Great movie for the kids and adults. Especially since my oldest son is entering sixth grade and so was the main character. Many funny parts and a great lesson for the kids too!

My ten year old had read all three books of this series and was delighted with this movie. We even had to see it the first day it was released in our town. I was amazed how well the movie was made and how accurate it was to the book. We all really enjoyed it and the time just past quickly and we wanted it to continue! Please make a movie of the other two BOOKS!

I took my granddaughter to see this movie and she liked it very much. She is 8 and has read most of the book but after when her mom ask if she would like to go see it again with her dad and her she said no thank you. There are a lot of good lessons learned in this movie and we talked about them after it was over. The part that she did not like was he ate the cheese and it kinda made her sick. LOL She had not read that part yet in the book. I would see it again.

This is a really FUN KIDS' MOVIE! it is excellent for what it is (a kids' movie). Lots of laughs for both the kids and adults, and my 8 year old wants to go see it again. We went with a group of 10 kids (boys and girls ranging in age from 4-12) and 4 adults and everyone in the group had a lot of laughs, and a good time. totally worth it.
i don't usually care for kids movies, this is definitely one of the better ones. it follows the book pretty closely, so if you kids love the book series, they will love the movie. have fun!

My girls and their friends had all read the book, met the author and actors at Kid Empowerment Day, and could not wait. The Halloween scene was a bit scary for my 6 year old- who had to walk out for a few minutes. Otherwise a fun family movie.

I took my 8 yr old and 12 yr old as they are big fans of the books... storyline was much the same as the book so there are no surprizes there but the ending taught the kids a valuable lesson about being a good friend. There were some funny scenes... funny to a kid... so if you are a parent that is not to particular and you want to see your kids get a few good laughs then this may be for you.

the books are fluff and fun and I expected the movie to be just that. There was nothing spectacular beyond the casting of just the right people to play Greg, Rodrick , their Dad, Fregley and Rowley. Perfect choices. But it was a thin plotline based on a book series with a thin plotline. Fun gags, an extra character that tried to impart some depth but overall, my 10 and 8 year olds gave it a C. Worth the Redbox or Netflix rent but not a run to the theaters kind of show.

i was going to try out but i lost interest. anyway. there is not much of a story line in the books. (iv'e read all them so far) and i don't think this movie will be great or terrific. I'm sure it will get #1 and i mean half the movie its gonna be a narrator (the guy who plays greg) talking the whole movie is what i think. But who knows. so i gave it 4 stars! (i hope it is about 4 stars!)
