We all loved this version. Jim Carrey is outstanding....his Scrooge is reminiscent of Alistair Sims wonderful performance years ago. This movie faithfully follows the original story with fantastic special effects as a bonus. The moral comes through loud and clear for the 7 to 8 year olds and up, but may not be appropriate for very small children due to the intensity of some of the effects. Highly recommend for all others.

I thought the movie was excellent! Loved it from beginning to end. I definitely give it a 10! I wouldn't necessarily take a child under 10 to go see it but I would highly recommend this movie to everyone who loves this story. It's a must-see!

This was a fantastic move and the 3D made it even better. It follows the Dicken's tale well. A Caution to parents: this is not a warm fuzzy Disney tale, probably not for kids under 13... But it does an awesome job of bringing this story to life!!

A+++++++++!!!!!!!!! I wanted to go see the 3D version of this but my 14 yr old was too chicken to go. LOL....I must say though, this regular version made us nearly jump out of our seats into the next row a couple of times. Very well put together. We absolutely LOVED it! It's a must see!!!!!! (I wouldn't recommend it for children under 10)

About the only thing good I can say about the movie was that the 3D graphics were great. The ghosts, red-eyed horses, and grim reaper were a little bit too scary for the kids. This movie should have been released on Halloween.

I would agree that some of the imaginery could scare young children, but for those older than 8 or 9 they will like the story. Outside of a couple of technical flaws the crutch is used for the wrong leg and a couple of other minor mistakes it is well worh the money. We did not see in it 3 d, but the last movies I sawed in 3d only had about 10 minutes of the movie in3d. I did miss the rhyming game, but that is okay. the dissolution of Chruistmas present could bother people. Perhaps vahishing would have been better.

True to the original text and visually stunning! The movie captures the darkness and transformation in the Dickens original. The effects were fabulous.
I'm not especially a Jim Carrey fan, but he nailed it in this performance. See it before Christmas.

I think the movie was great - a little over the top with the animation at times, the horse drawn funeral cart had me jump from my seat once. It kept to the story well. The kids that were with me thought it was a little slow at times - one of them said "boring".

Loved this movie...I did see it with my 6 year old and a couple of the parts were too intense, BUT she learned all the lessons...We actually had a talk later about what the film was about. It was beautifully made and along the lines of Polar Express....I wished I was able to have seen it 3D...had to see originally due to my little one

This was an excellent movie! I agree that the graphics were amazing. Some scenes could be scary for younger audiences but I loved the thrill! I would see it again!! One thing I did not like was that it was REALLY loud!

I ditto what ChisArch's review said. This was a great movie, with fantastic special effects. There were times, I forgot they were not real people, and were animated. This was a very cool version of the Dicken's novel... It does have it's "scary" parts, but again, that's true to the storyline. Overall, Disney (and Jim Carey) did a wonderul job!

It's a great traditional Christmas classic story on the big screen. Watching on 3D would be a better experience, though it would be a little to extreme for kids. Other than the extreme, it would top of any Christmas movie being completed for this year. Jim Carrey was just amazing in this movie, and what he's capable of in his line of work.

This was full of special effects, I saw the 3-D many times it felt like it was snowing. There should have been many more childlike scenes instead of grim reaper and red eyed horses. Jim Carrey was absolutely wonderful and very serious in this one. I dont suggest it for under 5 year olds though. The entire movie was Scrooges nightmare visits and it was ghostly and very large. The effects was very Disney magic.

I think this movie rings true to what Dickens was trying to convey. In addition the graphics/special effects were awesome. A lot of the bad reviews below are because people thought the movie to be dark and "scary". Come on, the movie's about a wicked old man that has to be re-taught the meaning of Christmas and charity to mankind. There are a number of unsettling scenes, but they're not out of place at all. Overall I think it's a great movie for everyone.

For a Disney Movie - very disappointing. It was much scarier than the reviews let on. However, my kids did enjoy the movie (8 & 11) but were spooked at certain points. There were several families that LEFT during the first 15 minutes of the movie. I can completely understand how this could cause nightmares in younger viewers. I thought Disney would take this classic Dickens story and put a magical spin (using magical special effects) to bring home the point without being so dark and scary. Definitely a let down. I would much rather have watched it on DVD than spend the money in the movies.

I am a huge fan of any remake of A Christmas Carol. I was however disappointed that at the end of the movie they didnt show Scrooge going to Cratchets house to delilver the christmas presents, etc. but other than that ~ Jim Carey was excellent as usual :o)

Good spinoff of Charles Dickens Classic. People should read the Rating before taking kids, it does say scary scenes.

Should be rated pg13. People with small children walked out the movie. The movie moves very slow and too much attention on the spooks. My 10 and 11 year old thought to be too scary. Not much meat to the show other than trying to scare. Way too much breast showing on the ladies. I thought this was geared towards children. Charles Dickens version a whole lot better.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
