Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this movie, but now I'll actually recommend it. The character of Lou could be one of the funniest parts of modern day comedies. Rob Corddry nailed that role. If you can't make it to the theater then you definitely need to pickup the DVD when it comes out. This movie is destined to be played on TBS with all the other mediocre, yet sometimes humorous comedies they play around the clock.

It seems that in recent years the formula for making an American comedy has been perfected. Different production studios apply this formula with some changed variables and manage to produce a decent comedy every time.
This movie was no exception. I'd easily recommend it to anyone who needed a laugh or just needed a movie to go to because they haven't been in a while.
The soundtrack was excellent and really brought back those times decades ago for me. The styles, the TV, the technology, the final Cold War hysteria, the ski lodge movies, all of it artfully hit here.
Go see it, you'll probably enjoy it.

Is "Hot Tube Time Machine" the next "the Hangover"? No. But it is incredible funny. HTTM is a silly-funny movie throughout. At times the movie is uproariously funny. It does consistently deliver the laughs. If you love the 80's and the movies of the 80's, you owe it to yourself to see HTTM.

This movie had a lot of funny moments. It's not as funny as The Hangover. Like many comedies, it starts to drag a little as they try and get to the climax and keep the jokes coming, especially since they had to make sense of why a Hot Tub can be a time machine.
It's definitely worth watching, but I'd save your pennies and wait for it to come out on DVD.

I checked out this film because the reviews were surprisingly good. It had moments, I guess, but it was a lot of crude gone over-the-top gross with a few legitimate laughs sprinkled in. I feel like it fell short of its potential. The 80s flashback effect was amusing and the soundtrack great, but a touch of realism wouldn't have taken away from the film, I don't think. I mean--we didn't all pop mushrooms like crazy, did we? And getting laid was never that easy, was it?

Enjoyed the 80's references. More sexual situations and nudity then there needed to be, but I guess that's what brings in the big bucks. It wasn't worth the $14.75 per person we paid, but it would be great to see on DVD.

Kind of like the Hangover, but without the intrigue. I didn't really care what happened, as long as it is funny, and the laughs were sparse. I liked the cameo by mustached William Zabka, (the bad kid from Karate Kid), as a guy who takes a bet on the Denver game. Also someone shouts, "put him in a body-bag", which is another funny quote from Karate Kid. If you didn't grow up in the 80's, forget it.

Hot Tub Time Machine is the funniest movie I can remember seeing in the theatre in recent years. It puts Old School, the Hangover and 40 Year Old Virgin to shame. I highly reccomend this film to anyone legit with a sense of humor.
