As one of the few guys in the theater, I can say that I somewhat enjoyed the movie. It was a bit predictable....okay...a lot predictable. And a tad drawn out (I thought the sun was going to be up by the time we left the theater). But the target audience seemed to love it and I guess that's all that really matters.

I am a die hard Sex in the City fan from the show to the reruns to the first movie which I watch over and over again, but I cannot tell a lie, this movie was not what I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong it had its funny moments but overall not the Sex in the City I was expecting. The plot was all over the place, the story line was a little crazy, the girls just didnt look up to par, the only thing eye catching was the fashion. I am disappointed.

I loved the Abudabi feel to the film! LOL I would recommend this to married women and those considering marriage. It has all elements of gay marriage, open marriages, and I loved the way they expressed friendship as a whole and how not all of us are the same and yet we can still get along . Love love loved it!

This movie was a lot better than the first one. I found the first film to be depressing from the beginning until the last 10 mins. I also thought the characters were extremely badly written in the first film. The second film delivered the original four ladies in their original demeanors that we all fell in love with. The plot of the film was predictable, and a little over the top at times, but it was still fun, and like I said before, the characters were much more believable!

This movie was everything it claimed to be. It was a great movie filled with relationships between friends and lovers. They did a fabulous job bringing the characters to the next stage of their lives and as a woman in the same stage of being married with 2 children, it really hit home. If you are looking for a movie filled with fun, some amazing scenery, great girlfriends, and a gorgeous wardrobe that is unattainable(!) then go andsee this movie!

So while I wasn't thrilled with this movie and I felt the first was much much better, it is a good flick for a "girls night out". We started with appetizers and a few cocktails to make it a fun evening overall. The fashion and scenery was fabulous, but I thought the storyline was a bit tired.

As sequels go, it wasn't bad. It was like meeting up with good friends after a long break. Good laughs, a good time, and then you go on your way. At 2.5 hours you certainly get your money's worth. The tone took an odd turn near the end - a little too "Keystone Cops" - but overall an enjoyable time.

The movie was great. It showed more of how life is and the situations that you go through. The girls played wonderful and the plot was excellent. Would go see it again and again. My friends and I got all dressed up (as our characters) and went out before the movie for sushi and cocktails. This movie was the perfect addition to our girls night out. The theatre was serving SATC drinks (that were SO yummy), and we were dressed to impress. Our movie experience was nothing short of fabulous, and the movie couldn't have been better!

I am a huge sex and the city fan...I own all of the dvd's and LOVED the first movie...but this one just wasn't that great. Sex and the City always goes hand in hand with a girls night out on the town. That's always a good time. What I loved about the movie was to see the same characters we have seen for many years in a new situation and of course the fashion is always a feast for the eyes. Sadly, after the first half of the movie, the greatness of the show started to decline. The comedy seemed forced and the jokes were a little lame. I'd have to say that Sex and the City 1 was better than Sex and the City 2. It was still good for a girly night on the town - but you would be just as happy waiting for DVD and having a wine nights with friends.

Without getting too spoilerific, this Sex and the City is a pale version of the series - a deflated yet utterly over-the-top caricature of its former self.
Taking the girls out of the City isn't the problem; the issue here is that the girls themselves are no longer fun to watch. Carrie has become an even more self-obsessed creature, to the point where you feel terribly sorry for Mr. Big. Actually, you feel sorry for pretty much every guy in the film, since they get short shrift in just about every way.
Miranda is probably the least dislikeable of the foursome, as she is the only one who makes any attempt to embrace the Middle Eastern culture in the strange romp to Abu Dhabi that seems to encompass more than two-thirds of the film.
Charlotte, the one who wanted SO BADLY to be a mother for so long, suddenly realizes that motherhood is HARD WORK! Noo....say it isn't so?! After all, she couldn't have found that out by asking the quartet's first resident mother, Miranda, eh?
And then there's Samantha. Normally, she's the sexy, spunky fun one. Here, either her script was awful (clearly true) or Cattrall was throwing her character under the bus with her portrayal (also quite possible), as Samantha is rude, offensive, and just generally unlikeable. She made for just about THE last person I'd ever want to travel with - period.
So, ultimately, the movie that was supposed to be about the romance between these four friends ended up just being about how little you like them. It's akin to the closing episode of "Seinfeld," where the characters were shown to be generally awful people. There's little to like about the women of "Sex and the City" this time out, and that's just a shame. If there's a SATC3, we can only hope that they bring back some decent writing...and get the girls to be themselves, instead of the bobbleheaded versions they played in this film.
It's not nearly as bad as many critics wrote - but it's nowhere near as good as it could or should have been.

This movie is exactly like the show... While it was too long, it was like watching 4 or 5 reruns in a row. I agree it could have been shorter, but then we would miss the fashion. This is a fantasy (like the show), and as such, it delivered. I laughed the ENTIRE time the movie was on - just like when the show was on HBO. I appreciated Carrie sporting the old Christian Dior newspaper dress - if you watched the show, you would know she featured it in an old ep; so it was fitting she wore it in the movie as she came out of her old apartment. LOVED IT!

I love anything that has to do with SITC. This movie was just what the girls needed after a long break. I love the way they incorporate REAL everyday problems into this movie. The girls are great! Look forward to 3!!

No sex in the city. Very little sex or intimacy. No couples said I love you. Why did they go to Abu Dabi? Miranda's role was fabulous. Fashion element missing because they went to a country where you can't dress freely or show affection in public. WHY?!

My wife & I were big fans of the HBO shows. And - overall - we liked the 1st movie.
But this one wondered all over the place. It was wildly inconsistent and seemed to have little to no plot.
I would like to see a 3rd movie but only IF it has a discernable plot

I absolutely loved this movie. I followed the series and of course saw the first movie. I hope they will come back with a #3. This movie sends such a wonderful message about friendship. Some of the reviews I have read criticized the language and some of the sexual explicit scenes...but honestly it just wouldn't be Sex in the City without it! If you haven't seen the movie, go see it...FABULOUS!
