"CARMEN" was the first opera I ever saw FORTY-TWO years ago when THE MET was still touring! Grace Bumbry sang the lead in Cleveland and was WONDERFUL! However, Elina Garanca's TOTAL PERFORMANCE caused me to fall in love with "CARMEN" all over again!! To see the stage action UP CLOSE added immensely to my enjoyment of the production / performance. I am SO GLAD to be able to see THE MET performances live on the big screen! TRULY AWESOME!!

I am by no means an opera critic, but I loved this. This was my first time watching it on the Movie Screen and I really enjoyed being able to see everything so closely. I believe that being able to see the facial expressions made a real difference. I also loved the back stage interviews and being able to watch the set changes. I was riveted for all four hours and five minutes. The theatre was packed and I was excited to see the support for opera in general. Please keep these coming. I am committed to attend.

My second Carmen, both great but Elina Garanca brought this to new heights -- singing, acting, even dancing. After three hours+ of demanding vocals and much more than a taste of action, still able to deliver a full force duet with the great Alagna while crawling in struggle across the floor on her back. This is my 5th opera in theater HD and this was the most stunning yet, a format I've grown to respect immensely.

This was a wonderful, exciting Carmen. The lead singers were fabulous, the orchestra magnificent, and the production was just great. We loved the lux setting at the movie. Sound was terrific, which is not always the case at every theater doing the live met performances.

I really enjoyed this movie/opera. This was the first time I'd seen CARMEN and liked that it was up closed and personal. I enjoyed the interviews during the intermissions with the key actors/singers. VERY WELL DONE!!
