Some minor things I'd rather see changed, but definitely worth seeing. What I disliked was fairly well-compensated by the refreshing atmosphere of a new story, new faces, etc. Better and different than expected.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, new direction
Cons some cliche moments
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Interesting take only a few years removed from the past trilogy. Great acting with a witty script. The downfall was the origin setup with the feeling that we've seen this before. I would have preferred to see more of the lizard and his motivations then the spider bite set up. The direction felt fresh and the character seems to be in good hands going forward.
The movie avoids many of the prequel mistakes of carbon copying every element of previous renditions. The death of Uncle Ben is done totally different, the background of Peters father is richer, and Gwen Stacy is not a minor character anymore.
Andrew Garfield does a great job as Spiderman, although he doesn't quite have the intense empathy that Toby Mcquire was able to portray. Garfield is acceptable in a way that is a possible version of Spiderman's persona. Perhaps keeping in line with not being a copy of Toby was purposeful. Also, Garfield is much taller, and a likely and believable fit for Stacy portrayed by Emma Stone. Whom had beautiful on screen chemistry with Garfield.
The special effects were in some way better than other Spiderman's since their wern't so many shots of him quickly swinging between buildings but slower shots that kept it looking realistic..
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I don't really see this as an improvement over the Toby McGuire version. Swapping out Mary Jane for Gwen doesn't make the story any more (or less) interesting. Same for the villain. They didn't develop the back story of his parents to the point where it added any real value, which I found disappointing, since there could have been so much more intrigue and suspense built into the plot around that.
The only real improvement was Sally Field instead of that pathetic, weepy old woman from the first one.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I've seen the 3 previous Spiderman movies starring Toby McGuire, was skeptical that another Spiderman movie could be as well done. I was pleasantly surprised! Nice to see familiar actors in the movie-Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben & Sally Fields as Aunt Mae...good combination! Whether it's date night or family night at the movies, it's a good movie to see for all ages!
Pros great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

ahhhh for the overall franchise, it was "OK" Tobey McGuire version was much better.
I enjoyed this movie a lot. I was better than the previous Spiderman movies (1--3) mainly because of the two main actors who kept it interesting. The humor and chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone was convincing and believable. Denis Leary did a great job. The special effects were very good, but didn't "blow me away" a much as the Avengers movie did. Overall, a must see!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Has everything you expect from a Spiderman movie, then stepped it up a notch. Nice plot surprises! Seems to have been written for a little more intelligent audience. Spiderman showed more personality. His girlfriend is really cute! Sally Field and Martin Sheen were perfectly cast. If you've enjoyed any of the Spiderman movies, you'll love this one!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, intelligent
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good movie, nice plot. Marcus theatre management is too picky, I went with 2 kids, 10 months and 3 yrs old. 10 months never cried and just making some small sounds some times. 3yr old was asking questions on spiderman and was excited whenever spiderman comes, this is common with kids. but theatre management telling me to control them is a bit very picky and hurting. I saw occurrences where kids were noisy and cranky, my kids are great and were just playing.... They should avoid being picky else I would not go to Marcus again
I enjoyed the movie now my husband and brother in law not so much.. i liked that it had the story to it and showed me how everything happend and it had a love story to it.. i have never seen any of the originals so i cant base it on any of those but i can say I liked it a good date night movie for the family..
Pros great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thought this was a good movie. The only scene in the movie I thought was a little hokie was the crane scene. Other then that everything was pretty believable.
Other than special effects, which were very good, the movie falls flat. It was too long. Andrew Garfield, who was Spiderman and Emma Stone his love interest, both had fair acting ability. In addition, they were miscast and seemed much older that the 17 year old's they were portraying. The story itself was less than exciting and took a while to get going. The draggy beginning was concluded with a confusing ending showing a clip of jailed scientist Connors talking about Spidey's father, and this appeared after the ending credits. Once the movie got into the Spiderman aspect, things became more interesting with more action and cool visual effects. Rhys Ifans gave a very good performance the Scientist.
Cons bad acting, slow
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I enjoyed this version of Spiderman soooooo much. It was totally revamped and fresher than the old stale versions. Loved the chemistry between Peter Parker and his love interest and Spiderman's vulnerabiity. Also loved using NYC as a backdrop! Stan Lee's cameo was priceless!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, more realistic
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Plot/story was alright, but the main actor (Andrew Garfield) looked like he thought he was in Twilight. At times head drooped and crippled with teen angst, and others with a smirk tainted smile that made me want to slap it off his face ... I was almost rooting for the Lizard to kick his ass.
Cons bad acting

Good movie...not as good as I expected though...frustrating when sequels don't follow stories from previous releases.
About as slow and boring as you will find for an "action/adeventure" movie. At least an hour could have been cut from this movie with no effect on the story line.
Cons too many needless scenes, drawn out story, ridiculous ending
I am a big fan of the earlier Spiderman movies, but this one falls short. I did not care what happened to the characters due to the poor acting. At one point, I was chearing for the villain, but the special effects were nearly as poor as the acting.
