This movie was great. I went in not expecting much and was surprised by how much I liked it. Garfield was great as Peter Parker. I liked the original and thought Tobey McGuire did a good job, but I feel like he didn't really fit the character. The rest of the actors do a great job too. This movie also did well with differentiating itself from the original while paying tribute to it as well. Great movie experience.

Ever since watching the Avengers i have been comparing other movies in the shadow of that movie and The Amazing Spiderman came in pretty good. I def recommend going if you like Super Hero movies.

I enjoyed this movie very much. It was refreshing seeing all of the new actors in this movie. They were all great actors and perfectly cast in the movie. There isn't much to compliment about the story line... that was the only disappointing part... knowing exactly what was going to happen. So, little surprises... .. good for kids who have not seen the other Spiderman's.... I was a bit bored with story but good special effects and the new Spiderman was very likeable. I would recommend Spiderman but do not expect a rebirth of story plot.

I went to this movie with my kids with low expectations because of a critic review I read. However, he must have been a joyless, bitter person because much to my surprise the movie was great. My whole family and my kids' friends loved it. The acting was great and it was different than the other spiderman movies, but in a good way. The love story was believable and action scenes were in my kids' words "really cool". Let's just say this mother of 3 liked it way better than my girls' night out movie pick, Magic Mike, which was a disappointment. But the Amazing Spiderman will not disappoint.

This movie more closely follows the story line of the original comic more so than the the other 3. Spiderman is portrayed more like the akward sarcastic teen that I remember from the comics quick witted and spirted. Highly recommend the movie.

After all the hype..its the same Spiderman chasing another man-turned-into-a-beast. And ofcourse there is his father's past, his good uncle, nice girlfriend etc. Garfield has acted well, so has Stone. Rest all is ok.

The Amazing Spiderman was a fun ride from start to finish. It had a good back story that they took time to develop. I actually preferred Andrew Garfield's version better than Tobey Maguire's as he had more emotions and more humor. The effects were awesome. Overall, a fun movie that superhero fans will enjoy.

I was kind of skeptic with it being over 2 hours long, but the movie kept you tuned in the whole time. The two main characters had great chemistry together. Me not really being a comic fan, I could follow along the whole time and actually knew what was going on with each character.

My family and I greatly enjoyed this movie! We saw the midnight premier in 3D and thought it was wonderful. My 17 year old daughter has always loved Spiderman and has been counting days for its release since January! Her advice is to go into the movie without trying to compare it to the original, because there IS no comparison. The actors are completely different and the storylines aren't very similar either. She loved it! Andrew Garfield is no Tobey Maguire, but he did a great job.
We took a group with ages 58, 39, 20, 17, 15, 13. All of us thought it was just spectacular. All of us would recommend this to anyone who wanted to laugh as long as be thriled and sitting on the edge of their seats for 2 hours and 16 minutes!

The dialogue was awesome. The movie seemed more urban. The directors did a good job making Peter Parker younger, and changing up the girl he loved. Also, the fight scenes were just crazy.

This is the biggest problem with reboots and remakes (I'm looking at you Bryan Singer), the new directors feel obligated to re-tell the origin story in its entirety. We all know the story of how he is bitten by the spider, so why not just use flash-back scenes instead of half of the movie to remind us?
I enjoyed Garfield's take on the Peter Parker/Spiderman characterization. He brought a different take that, I believe, is more inline with the comic's long-standing belief of how he is characterized. He was not as whiny as Tobey and didn't spend half of his time pining for a girl.
I did miss Spiderman's banter during his fight scenes. He had a little bit of dialogue during the car-jacking, but I never heard much during the big fight scenes.
I liked Emma much better as the female lead (I don't think she screamed once - a'la Kirsten Dunst) and she was a much stronger character, even to the point of helping save the day.
One big question was never answered: Uncle Ben's killer was never caught. It seemed that Peter just lost interest in that part of the story line.
All in all, it was entertaining, but missed the mark to be a bang up, blow out, July 4th blockbuster.

The original installment of Spiderman was much better. The original did a better time in developing the storyline and drawing the audience in. All things aside- Andrew Garfield did a great job as Spiderman. Make sure you stay after the credits for the next trailer.

The movie action was great when it came, the story line was too dragged out with Parker's family. I counted at least 5 action scenes the rest was all downhill. I expected more for Marvel and Spiderman doesn't link to anything to do with the rest of the Marvel clan. I could have waited to see this on DVD or when it reaches to television.

Caught a free sneak peek showing of this and I have to say it was pretty amazing. Like most people when I first saw the trailer I had mixed feelings because I was hoping for another Spider-Man but a real fourth one not a reboot one. However, I won't say that I didn't enjoy this darker version because it was quite good and kept me entertained the whole time. If you do plan on seeing this movie its best to go into it putting the other trilogy out of your mind because this is basically a stand alone movie that's more like the beginning of a whole new Spider-Man trilogy then a reboot of the original. All in all, weather your a comic book fan or not this is defiantly one blockbuster movie to see.

I hate this movie. Everything about it! the story, the dam main actor!! wheres Tobey the real Spider-Man. This movie sucks.. I will never betray the original Spider-Man. The director was on crack when he did this dumb poor made movie. I hate it and I don't recommend it at all!

Why make another multi-million dollar Spiderman movie with the same beginning story of Peter Parker? The last Part One is less than 12 years old, with sequels Two and Three right behind it! This doesn't make any sense.

i know who the villains are and just let me tell you. IT WILL BE AMAZING. ONE OF THE DEADLIEST VILLAINS. OMG I WANNA SEE IT! IVE SEEN THEM SINCE I WAS 4 AND LOVED THEM ALL! I USED TO PUT ON THE COSTUME AND CRAWL AROUND THE HOUSE! AND HE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY FAVORITE HERO!!!!!!!
