My husband, my 4 year old son, my best friend, and myself all went to see this movie. All different ages, all different tastes and we all Loved This Movie!! This is by far the best Spiderman movie made. The actors were all perfect for their roles and this movie unlike the others kept my son's attention throughout the entire movie. The special effects were Fantastic along with the story.

This was the edgy, complex, funny, geeky, sometimes cocky Peter Parker I got to know in the comics. This film adeptly showcased Spideys' agility and speed. Some of the body posturing in mid-air took my breath away. This cast, special-effects team, creative think-tank, and directing took Spiderman on film to an entirely new level. I was skeptical at first of a reboot. Saw it at IMAX in 3D....WOW! The 3 of us looked at each other at the end of the movie and all said; "Can't wait to see it again!"

To say this movie is flawless would be a lie, but it is definitely the best Spider-Man movie since since Spider-Man 2. The Amazing Spider-Man does a better job in exploring Spider-Man's origins then the first film did. But unfortunately with so much time spent on setting up the origins of the hero, there was not enough time left to explore the relationship of Peter Parker and Curt Connors. Also the director seems intent on creating a mystery of Peter Parker's parents at the beginning of the film, but it ultimately goes nowhere and is a loose thread that will probably be further explored in the next film. To say the film is not as action packed as other super hero films is true, but ti makes up for that with great fight scenes. My biggest problem with this film though is the design of the Lizard, the villain looks more like a alien you would see in Star Trek then the monster you recognize from the comics. By giving the Lizard a more human face, he does not come off as a terrifying villain. The best thing I can say about this film is that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have better onscreen chemistry then Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst ever had. I should also not forget that this movie has the best web-swinging sequences in any Spider-Man movie. All in all, it may not be the best Spider-Man film, but it is a great start to a new trilogy.

It is the best Spider-Man movie to date. The action was realistically paced rather than over the top super fast CGI. Looking forward to future movies with this cast and director.

By far an above average movie. Some of the abilities are closer to the origanil comic book, (his web substance). Story line was very good. Acting was as well. Special effect today are always a step above whatever the last high-tech movie. Hats off to to the director with regards to camera work.

I'm very fond of the original series so I guess I'm a tad spoiled there. I found this movie to be well done, story was good, action sequences mostly were not bad. What I found a bit lacking was the emotional state of the actors weren't as real feeling as they were in the original.
Like for instance, Spiderman's comical attitude was not as believable as it was with Tobey. I felt he captured the essence of Spidey a lot better. Also felt that there was just a lot missing in the story to me, but this story line was set completely different. Now I'm not going to compare it to the Comics as I personally can't remember all those details, it's been far too long for me to remember that.
The relationships with different characters seemed rather rushed too, but again, it's not horrible by no means. We've seen horrible with other movies that failed with character development. I'm huge on this aspect of a movie, I find a lot of movies lately are getting away from how the different character roles the actors take on develop. Typically they're very rushed it seems. Especially in movies where you have too many things happening at once ( Multiple Story Lines clashing basically ).
This one starts out rather slow, but once it does start to progress it's does quite well. One of the other things that kind of set off my alarms, was the lack of Peter's geeky side. While it was shown with him working on the gadgets for his web slinging, it wasn't shown hardly at all in his personality.
Now with all this said, yes I did like the movie and I do recommend people see it. It's a good action hero movie, but compared to the likes of the previous series and others that have done wonderful jobs ( The Avengers! ) this one comes up just a tad short. Lets hope it betters the second time around!

I half expected the movie to be terrible. But I was pleasantly surprised. The acting was very good as well as the writing. The story was a little flawed in regards to changes that were made from the first movie. But all in all it was a really good movie.

I love action movies, especially comic books coming to life, however I am a bit disappointed that the storyline was the same as the Spiderman movies with Toby Maguire. I thought we would see the next phase of Spiderman. Andrew Garfield was good and I still love Spiderman I just had different expectations of the movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man was truly the best movie I have seen, in the last ten years, maybe even ever! This is a must see! It was packed with non stop action and it tore at your heart strings all at the same time. Peter Parker was the hero underdog that everyone wanted to see overcome all his hardships and prevail! I was not impressed with the remake of the Spiderman storyline. The first 3 Spiderman movies were great! The attempt to rewrite the storyline and make a different spinoff is very uninspiring.
It's sort of like the remake of Batman, but the Batman remade movies are MUCH better than the older Batman movies. This movie did not exceed the greatness of Spiderman 1-3.. It was just "OK".

This is a fun movie, the younger generations love it! For those of us that have seen more years of movies, the special effects are excellent, the story line is nothing new (but works), and common visual scenes are recycled.

We found this latest Spiderman so much better than any of the others - everything from his using a web shooter instead of the webbing coming from holes in his wrists like Toby's character - to his deep feelings of anger and hurt when Uncle Ben was killed, how he searched for the killer and how that searched brought about the changes in how he developed his persona and costume. Yes there were similarities, but this was a better version and the action scenes were so much better.
LOVED IT - will see it again, and will buy the DVD!

Story line, dialogue and effects appeal to both beginner and avid movie goers. Finally get to go to movies that both me and my 7 year old son can enjoy. Be sure to stay for scene after initial closing credits. You get sneak peak to potential sequal.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN may not have failed as epically as Raimi’s third, but it’s bad… it’s really, really bad… from its unnecessary need to tell a retooled origin story of Spider-Man to its incredibly off-base interpretation of Peter Parker’s internal struggles to the sheer fact that it’s tone deaf about what a Spider-Man movie should be. Sadly, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has gotten caught up in a movie with an enormous web of problems.
For the first 45 minutes of the film, there’s a sense of déjà vu to everything you’re seeing… probably because you’ve already seen this part of Spider-Man’s tale told just 10 years prior. It feels so paint-by-numbers .
Starting with Peter Parker already in full-blown Spider-Man mode may have been a wiser choice, because it capitalizes on the unfulfilled desire to see the Lizard right away rather than making us sit through an all too familiar History of Spidey segment that lacks spark.

I am a fan of the first spider-man trilogy, maybe not so much the third, but the first 2 are amazing. This remake that feels different to what I got from the tobey maguire movies but not at all in a bad way. Great acting gives me hope for whats to come. It is a very intriguing spider-man origin movie and if , from what I have read elsewhere, hey do make a second and third with this cast, I can imagine those will turn out Amazing.

The reboot of Spiderman was in general a very entertaining and enjoyable movie. For a movie that's 2 1/4 hours, it was definitely slow in getting to the transformation of Peter Parker into Spiderman (about 45 minutes or so). The special effects were very impressive, although the villainous Lizard Man looked like a bad CGI version of the Hulk. There was definitely more background material than in the previous three movies and the two 18 year olds who were with me liked this version better than Tobey Maguire/Kirsten Dunst. While I will buy the DVD, I personally liked the heart of the originals much more than this one. Good movie, not amazing.

Yes, they changed the story. However Andrew Garfield is way better than Toby Maguire. the story line had a great tone and presence in who the comic spiderman is which is very tongue and cheek. Weel Done!!!
