The movie was great. I know with movies, you work with a limited amount of time. In the book, you really get a feel for how their love unwinds. I really did enjoy the way this movie ended versus the book.

The ending was very disappointing. It was a good movie overall but totally not what I expected!! The love story that I was expected just wasn’t there. Channing Tatum was very nice to look at so it made this movie a little better. It’s definitely one I could have just waited to watch on TV and no paid to go see that the theater.

Enjoyed the movie. It was different than the book ,especially the ending. Wished had spend some more time with their relationship during the letter writing. Not as much detail as in the book but the movie never is. Very touching wth his father.

I really liked this movie, and was pleased with the ending. Those of you who weren't happy with the ending need to use a little imagination. Of course they got together in the end.
The message regarding autism was an important one everyone not touched by it needs to hear, too. But, of course, there are those people who don't want to hear it and won't listen no matter what. Movies aren't just to be entertaining. They can be thought provoking, too.
I thought Amanda Seyfried was excellent.

Based on the title and the author of the story, I feared that my daughter and I would be sobbing through this movie. We took lots of Kleenex with us. Actually, there were few tears and it was a relief. It was such a beautiful movie, beautiful story, and wonderful actors. I highly recommend it! I think this was better than the notebook because it wasn't you're typical story line. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Channing Tatum being a great actor and Amanda Seyfriend who is a local to me, and an up and coming great actress proved their talent in this film. The only thing that could use some work, was the ending. But, the rest of the movie makes up for it. Great film.

I have to say this was one of the most disappointing movies I have seen in a long time. I had very high hopes for this movie. I just read the book and even though didn't like the books' ending, I really enjoyed the book. The acting was terrible! The main characters couldn't touch the depth that the characters in the book had. It was a combination of the acting skill level and the fact that the script didn't give you the depth that the book gave. It felt very rushed in developing their characters yet very drawn out. Some of the most important lines in the book didn't make it in the movie. Overall left feeling very unsatisfied and wished I hadn't seen it. Doesn't hold a candle to the Notebook!

The movie was fairly good over all. There was too much hype about it being better than the Notebook, etc. This is NOT the case. The movie started out really good. Then it was sad but then it just got plain out WEIRD and even more sad!! I was extremely disappointed!! Not what I was expecting and am sorry I saw it in the theater. I should have waited until it was out on DVD. But even then I would not have been too happy I watched it. Left me with an empty/sad/disappointed feeling when it was over. I really thought this was going to be sappy & lame (not to mention run of the mill), but with the exception of a few moments of what I felt to be lapses in overall intelligence, this film told a very moving, engrossing story overall. Love stories can very easily slip into cornball territory; this one avoids it with a good deal of class & storyline originality. Tips of the hat to Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under) & Henry Thomas (Elliott from "E.T.") for great supporting roles. See this one!

Let me save you a little time ... because even if you are a fan of the Tatum and Seyfried (and I am), this film falls flat. It starts off with good intentions but somewhere it loses it's way. The characters aren't fully formed so we're not sure why they're making the choices they do -- and even when the film attempts to "tell" you where it is going, it whimpers out. I had high hopes for this movie, but left the theatre disappointed. EVERYONE sighed at the ending because it was lame! And there were some poorly contrived military scenes that seemed thrown in and actually disjointed the movie even further. So much lost potential here .

I was worried after reading the reviews on this one, but I really liked this movie. I thought it was very true to life - the choices a person makes out of a sense of "duty", and the losses because of those choices. I was totally fine with the end of the movie also. It did not leave me hanging at all. Very impressed with Channing Tatum's acting. I can't stand to see a grown man cry, especially a good looking one!

This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The acting was really good and the onscreen chemistry was also good, but the storyline was just sick. Everyone in the movie theater was in shock at the end and gasped several times during the second half. The movie ended wierd. It just showed that they met up, but that is it. Some parts just dragged. But i liked the movie. it was not as good as i expected it to be. There was tooo much of a hype for the movie. it didnt make me cry, whihc dissappointed me.

I thought this was a great movie! I read the book before I watched it and I must say they are both good even though they changed a few odd things from the book-including the ending. I agree it felt a little rushed, but i like what they added to the movie that the book didn't include. I even got very teary eyed during the movie, but not from the book. I can't wait to take my fiance' to see it with me!

Didn't read the book, but was told that the story line was not true to the book. Enjoyed the movie with my neice. Looking forward to seeing more of Channing Tatum in the future.

I read the book. It was the best book I ever read. The movie ruined it though. I was expecting way more. Seemed like they rushed everything. Wish it could have been better. The Ending was Wack Sauce.
