I very much enjoyed the movie,if you didn't read the book the movie would be perfect but if you did read the book theirs alot of differences that make the movie very different,especially all the important parts that you feel should of been in the movie and the things the movie changed,kind of wrecked it.The actor was perfect for the part but I feel they needed a different actress,she just really ruined the picture of what the book painted

I read the book and found that the ending in the movie was a decent resolution to what had bothered me. Channing Tatum was exactly the way I pictured John in the book, and Amanda Seyfried was wonderful (as she always is.) I didn't like the casting of Alan and the changes made there from the book or the character Tim (liked the one in the book better). Go see it. You'll cry at parts but the ending needed about another minute of resolution. Just my opinion...

The movie was good, however it was a little frustrating since I had already read the book. There were so many changes and I kept expecting certain things to happen so when they didn't it was annoying. I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more had I not read the book first. Still definitely not a must see, but a good book.

Dear John was great, but as with any Nicholas Sparks movie thus far, it is no comparison to The Notebook. I think it will take someone very special to make something that good again. However, Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried did very well, and there were definitely some emotional scenes. I would recommend this movie to anyone, though it is not a must-see.

I didn't read the book but heard the book was awesome; so that made me really want to see this movie. I really enjoyed watching this movie...Channing and Amanda have the best chemistry. I however did not like the ending...I felt unsettled and wanted to know more. It was a very good movie though and would recommend seeing it. You will tear up many times.

this movie was incredible. EXCEPT i hate how they changed the ending. For people who read the book and go see the movie they wont like the ending. i thought the acting was great and realistic. Channing and Amanda were so amazing. The ending really just made me mad. The first hour was the very best. Either way the story is depressing but it left off on a somewhat happy ending which is not what portrayed in the book. Either way it was great and its always good to see one of your fav books be brought to life in a movie. If it would have kept its original ending sad or not, it would have been one of the best movies in the world. Either way i loved it.

i was so stoked to watch this movie, i have been antsy ever since i saw the trailer but when i finally did watch it i was so disappointed. i read the book multiple times and compared to the movie, the comparison was not even close. i know that books are usually always better than the movies but when i read the notebook and later on saw the movie, the movie had almost to exact details and the flow of how the book went but it didnt fir dear john. it was jumping from one event to one event. the ending was soo disappointing and it just left a feeling of disappointment after the movie. a lot of holes to the movie

I enjoyed the movie, it wasnt the best I have ever seen, but definitely good. I read the book before seeing the movie and I think that it turned out great! I was looking forward to seeing this movie from the first preview on TV. Simply put one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. I have read the book and the movie just made it better. It brougt one the best stories that I have ever read to life. Defintely a tear jerker. It shows that love does really conquer all. In a time when so many people are forgetting what love means it is a great movie to see how great love can be even if it has it's bumps in the road. SO GREAT movie, plan on seeing it again this weekend.

I read the book in about 24 hours one weekend and I spent most of that time crying my eyes out. The movies was a very good remake of the book. While some things changed and Amanda Seyfried is no the ideal charactor that I saw playing the role Channing Tatum was sexy and just perfect for the role. I felt like they gave the movie a happy ending which is like a double edge sword because the book was so good but the movie lives up to the book. the movie was great.. There were a few parts that weren't in the book. But, overall they stayed true to the book. Channing and amanda were awesome, their chemistry was perfect. The ending althoguh in my opinion.. Was better in the book.. Still left me unsettled.. Wish they would have added just a bit more. But I recommend to anyone. Great movie.

I haven't read the book, and I was told the book was great. I am planning on reading the book now. The movie was good, it really hit home considering my hubby is in the Army. There were several times that I was crying. However, the ending wasn't good at all. It ended so fast, and I was hoping for more. Overall it was good though!!

I didn't read the book, but I was dying to see this movie. It was not at all as I'd hoped. I was expecting more of a passionate love story and I guess it was, but it just wasn't that great. Only a couple parts that actually felt like the characters were in love. The story line was really strange. It was pretty much The Notebook only The Notebook was so much better.
