It has everything. It touches the truth. I cried during the church scenes and cheered when Adam kicked but. (That's what a real man does). I absolutely loved this movie! It was so hard-hitting with the theme, the lessons, the acting from the children on up. The music was fantastic and yes, I had to wipe the tears many many times throughout the movie.
It's so refreshing to have movies with great biblical lessons (um, even the miss-lessons from madea-lol) instead of the raunch and immorality that's rampant in most others.
I loved the fact that Gladys Knight shows she can still move people with her music, Mary J Blige STILL can show her masterfulness and Taraji, well, her acting th singing part was excellent!

Excellent!!, best Tyler Perry film to date (I have seen them all). Love the comedy of Tyler, but also appreciate seeing him add other emotions. Made me tear up, and I don't do that easily! Each character for this movie was excellent. Starting with Taraji P. Henson, to Adam Rodriguez, to Mary J. Blige, Rev Marvin Winans and Gladys Night to Brian White. The children even made their roles very believable, the young lady Hope Olaide Wilson who played the sister was simply phenomenal. I encourage you to take a box of Kleenex with you because this is a very touching story that delivers a strong message. Each song that was sung throughout the movie ministered to the audience in one way or other, where the messages of each song related to our lives past, present and future.. Tyler you just keep getting better, and better, we are blessed to experience your talent.. Thank you for sharing.

The comedy wasn't as funny as his other movies, but it was still funny & enjoyable. Also, this movie was more serious and a little different from his typical movies.
The only problem I find with this movie and some of his others, is that the church scenes are too long and drawn out.
I go to church so I'm not against church at all. But there are people of different religions and/or people who may not particularly care for church watching the movie. They may get a little bored with all the preaching & singing, etc.
There's no need to cut the church out b/c the church gave TP his real start in films, but he just needs to know when to change scenes in order to better appeal to a broad range of people of different backgrounds/faiths.

I am a Tyler Perry fan, but the movie was ok, It did make me laugh, and one scene made me tear up. Too much church singing. It definitely was not as good as Dairy of A Mad Black Women, Why Did I Get Married or The Familly That Preys. The story line was good, but some parts were weak. The young girl was excellent. I would have liked to have seen more of Madea. I liked all the actors in the movie.

Tyler Perry has once again delievered an awesome movie! I was very impressed with the acting of everyone and the songs were soul-pleasing. The dark undertones of the movie are what makes Tyler Perry movies less dramatic and more like real life, and therefore you can't say you've seen it before. I am proud of Taraji, although the yelling she does makes my ears bleed LOL. Anyway it was a great movie and I recommend it to everyone.

I think this is his best movie yet. He just keeps getting better and better. I am so blessed to be able to witness the creativity that comes from such an incredible mind. I look forward to his future projects. Thank you Tyler, for bringing home what so many of us NEED to see.

I have to say this is Tyler's BEST FILM EVER. As always he has picked the best actors/actress to protray what messages he has. All I can say is WOW!!!!! God has really BLESSED him with an amazing talent and he is doing something positive with it. keep up the excellent work.
