I loved this movie! It was incredible. I laughed and cried! Taraji was fabulous! Every character was believable. After being touched by the sentimental, and often heartbreaking moments throughout the movie, as well as being blown away by the enormous forces (errrr I mean voices) of Gladys Knight, Mr. Winans, and Mary J. Blige I would enter non-stop laughter from the lines of Madea, and her/his male character. Then back to the serious moments, followed by more serious moments, then lightened moments with tons of laughter. Be sure to stay for the credits, 'cause the outtakes are even MORE hilarious!
A+++ to Tyler Perry on this film. Hands down the BEST movie, yet from him.

For so many reasons I would & already have, recommend this movie to family, friends, and others to see. Of course it was funny--much laughter. Madea' wasn't too over the top, makeup was right, believable storyline with a little grit and that profound message we've all come to expect from Mr. Perry's work. Yes-parts might have been a bit predictable, yet all of it sure was great to watch, laugh at, cry over/about, think about, and just enjoy. Reminding me of Akosua Busia, Hope Olaide Wilson did proud to role of young girl, as did other actors/roles...and the music & singing were just a wonderful plus. I think Mr. TP is too smart to have presented anything less.

I was very disappointed with this movie. It was a mini concert/musical rather than a movie. The story line was very predictable and unbelievable. Yes Tyler Perry did hit some emotional highs and lows. There were some laughable parts and some tear jerker parts, but most of the laughing we did was due to the story line itself and how we were able to predict what was coming next! I have a giant ? as to whether or not I will be rushing out to see his next one. I really want to support Tyler Perry but I just don't know. :-(

Tyler Perry's movies seem to get better and better. You will love this movie if you're a Tyler Perry fan or not. Taraji P Henson is fantastic. The music is wonderful and the characters have great depth and Madea's character doesn't carry the movie. This is such an emotional movie. I'm a grown man that actually cried during one scene.
This movie is about love. Love of family. The change that the love of a good person can bring to your life. Most of all its about the life changing power of God's unconditional love and it's ability to lift you when you just can't go any lower. Good work Tyler!!!

No one does movies like Tyler Perry. His films always contain something for everyone. He makes us laugh and cry; but, there's always a lesson to be learned. This film was no different. Taraji Henson has come full circle, and is headed for further greatness. Major star power contributors, Mary J. Blige, Marvin Winans, and Diva herself, Gladys Knight, were a fantastic addition to Taraji! I will say that I did expect Madea and Joe to reappear; but, I realize that Mr. Perry is trying to wean us off of her. TP: She was missed!

This movie was excellent!! You cry and laugh. Mary J. and Gladis Knight were spectacular. You can't forget about Taraji who deserves an Academy Award. Her versatility has been proven.
