It's certainly not as good as the book, of course, but I was unpleasantly surprised after watching this one. It was my favorite of all the books and coming off of New Moon, I went in with high expectations only to be let down. The chemistry between the characters seemed to be a lot less than New Moon and even Twilight and the acting (Kristen Stewart, in particular) was below par, which is odd because one would anticipate the acting and chemistry would improve with each movie! Anyway, I liked it, but didn't love it and certainly won't be paying to see it again in theaters...

I loved this movie. I love the book more, but was not disappointed by the movie at all. Loved all the characters. What I don't understand, in Twillight other than looking paste white all the Vampires (the Cullens) looked like regular humans. They all had normal looking eyes (I know Edwards eyes changed colors). It seems in New Moon and Eclipse the vamp's eyes were always different looking no matter what they were doing. They obviously looked different all the time. I liked how they gave a little background look into some of the Cullens in Eclipse. Loved the movie and can't wait to see it again !!!!!

I thought the movie was really good. Of course, the books are better as always, but Eclipse was VERY entertaining. Very guy-friendly too. Not so lovey dovey & it had a decent amount of action. The acting was kicked up a notch or two, the action was incredible, but to be honest the special effects weren't all that. Twilight sucked, New Moon was alright, but Eclipe was AWESOME! My eyes were wide open the entire time & I was not bored for one second. I most DEFINITELY would recommend this movie to my family & friends. In fact, I already did. Seen this movie 3 times already :)

My 21 year old daughter and I took my 11 year old to the midnight showing. I find it fascinating that each movie has been directed by different directors, and each is still wonderful in the outcome. While I did love New Moon, I liked Twilight better, only because it was like your first time for anything. You can never get that same thrill of newness back no matter how hard you try. Also, New Moon was not my favorite book. I went into Eclipse with high hopes, and I was not disappointed at all! No matter how much some people think certain actors in the films are wrong, I think they are all so perfectly matched to the book characters and do an awesome job bringing the books to life onscreen. My 11 year old was not scared at all, but she isn't scared of much due to her creative brother who likes to scare his sisters! She laughed at the Vulturi scene where the vampires head was pulled off in New Moon. That is scarey in itself!
All the scenes in Eclipse were done exactly as I had pictured them in my head as I read the books! The only thing I didn't like was the makeup of Esme in this movie. Right before the fight scene when the Cullens were lined up, Esme looked like a wax figure! Other than that, you were not left with a feeling that you missed anything. It was done to near perfection! I am disappointed that we will have to wait so long to see the next movie "Breaking Dawn" part one next November. I was hoping it would be part one in June 2011 and then part two November 2011. But it is worth the wait and I hope it is also done as well as Eclipse was! Kind of makes me wish they would stay with director David Slade!

My daughter and I saw Eclipse and loved it. We cant wait for the next movie. It should be against the law for Edward and Jake to look that good.We went to the beach and got the aunts to go see it with us again. I dont even want to think of the let down when twilight comes to an end.

I really loved the books, and I enjoy seeing the movies, but I do agree with a lot of reviews saying Kristen Stewart falls flat. I'm hoping that in the next movie, she'll really dig in since, based on the books, it should be really intense. But overall I liked the movie. I was holding my breath during the fight scenes without even realizing it. It's fun to see the book characters come to life.

i have seen the first two twighlight movies and i think they are steadily improving. there isn't much you can do about the characters, bella is just as bland and lifeless as in the books and edward is just as bad. they both look "pained" all the time. jacob is at least full of life and those abs are dead sexy. the makeup artist needs to go back to school, vampires should be beautiful and pale not ghastly, unless attacking you. i'm team jasper and alice!

I was expecting this movie to be a transition, similar to the 2nd Lord of the Rings movie - brief explanations and random new plot lines - but was plesantly surprised. They could have made the movie a bit longer and given us more detail, but over all, exciting action and good banter between Edward and Jacob. The fact that Jacob was without a shirt most of the movie didn't hurt any either! :oD

I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know that the movies will invariably be different. But this one took it to the extreme, I felt. It felt jumbled, rushed, with additions that for the most part did make sense, with the exception of the Volturi. And anyone who's seen it knows what I'm talking about.
The acting quality fell dramatically. Kristen Stewart's prowess extends to one emotion: whining. Robert Pattinson actually had a chance to get angry, and it was fun to watch. Taylor Lautner got the brunt of being angry the entire film which, while mostly true to the book, omitted some of his great mood changes. Poor Bryce Dallas Howard: she was just not up to the standard for her character, either.
On the bright side, other than seeing Angry Edward (which was the first emotion I've seen from him yet), the fight scenes were good, and the backgrounds on two other characters, while abbreviated and lacking, were enjoyable as well.
Overall, it was a waste of time.

When you're someone that's read the books first, it's hard to be as pleased with the films as others...but with this, I am very pleased. They stay true to the book story and play everything out in an exciting way. The romance is satisfying as well as the action, & it never drags. It's good to see Edward finally play out a little jealousy! It's also visually dynamic. The only drawback is having to wait for the next part!

I am not a teenager, but I do have teenage children! Therefore, I had to go see it with them and like the others I loved them a little more. The movies seem to get better and better as they come out. Yes, absolutely I would recommend this movie to any one of my family and friends with pre-teens and teenagers!!!

Dragged by my wife to the theater, I enjoyed Eclipse more than I expected. The tension between Edward & Jacob was well done, and the scenery was stunning. I also liked the delightfully creepy (if brief) performances by Dakota Fanning & Bryce Dallas Howard. If the actors could have mastered more than one facial expression, I might have given Eclipse four stars.
