Eclipse is definitly the best movie in the franchise so far, the story line is the closest to the book and the acting, direction and cinematography are all imroved as well. I gave it 4 stars simply because it is still a little cheesy and adolecent, but if you are interested in seeing this movie you probably are already expecting that. I would definitly recommend this movie anyone who is a fan of the books, or who enjoyed the other movies. Certainly the overall best yet.

Obviously if I've seen the third then I'm following the series, which against my will has sucked me in. I would have to say that the acting is not the best, and in some scenes you can tell that the movie was shot on the cheap (unlike similar series like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings) however like I said, they did something right cause I'm hooked. The third movie added to the series but was slow in some parts, and they definitely dragged out the Jacob- Bella thing way too long. But there were a few interesting developments and the battle contained some decent action.

I am a "Twilight Mom". As my husband says, "I still think I am a teenager." But, there is nothing better than a good love triangle. And this was good. The movie for the major parts stayed true to the book. How do I know this? Well, I read the book a week prior to the release so that I could brush up on all the action. As the films progress, they are better and better. Acting, make-up- everything is much better than the first.
I took my son and he had a great time. He is twelve and loved the action scenes. The action was awesome. Great fight scenes and stunts.
To start our fantastic evening, the audience was greeted by Dakota Fanning (Team Jane). What a great way to start the evening.

I was expecting this movie to actually relate to the book. There were important parts missing and the scene were out of order. Major actions taken by Bella were changed and contradicted the book. Too much information was removed in order to make time for the battle that isn't even supposed to be seen. Scenes of the newborns in Seattle were confusing and uncalled for. It disappointed me and did not live up to my expectations after seeing New Moon.

Of course Twilight will always bring people to the theater, no matter how obvious the makeup on the actors is or how devastating the acting. But despite how many tickets sold and how many people can snuggle up on the more intensified love triangle from this installment, the writing is truly awful. These characters have gone from being mildly two-dimensional, to being blankly one. It is hard to backtrack in development like that, but sure enough, they've done it with this movie.
As a young adult who has enjoyed the Twilight series as the piece of fluffy junk food that it is, I say I don't judge those who enjoy it. But there is no way that I could not be questioning: What was this writer thinking? People should not be laughing in the theater after a climactic moment. And the award goes to Twilight for "Most Awkward Scene" in a heated moment between Bella and Jacob. In fact, many awkward scenes in the film that makes you cringe.
Nonetheless, David Slade had some better visions for this movie, that in many ways exceeded the last two. Some merit, some horrible parts: but if you like the series, of course go see it. If you are fan, no matter how critical you can get, you're in this for life. Or at least until you get to see Bella and Ed get past first base or they stop making the series.

This movie was far superior to Twilght and New Moon. The fighting scenes were well orchestrated and Kristen Stewart did a much better job protraying Bella than in Twilight or New Moon. This movie was much truer to the book than Twilight or New Moon. Like all book to movies, they are never as great as the books. I am looking forward to the 2 movies for Breaking Dawn, as it is my favorite book of the series. Team Edward : )

People may think the toplessness in the wolf pack is gratuitous, but they run high temperatures. It makes sense that they would walk around like that.

To those who feel it is "sophomoric", remember that is exactly the audience that both the books and the movies were written for. As usual, much of the book content is omitted, so you lose some of the characters depth and their background. If your (older) children are fans, they'll enjoy it.

I have read all of the Twilight Saga books, and watched the first two movies as well, and this is by far the best one. There was nothing in the movie that I disliked. The actors' intensity made the film incredible. I would recomment it to anyone!

There was a lot in the movie that I don't remember from the book. Nonetheless, the wolf and vampire action sequences were fantastic. That is what made the movie. The storyline left a lot to be desired. Wish there was more of the wolf/vampire action.

in my opinion, the movie was iincredible. i used to be on edward's side but through out the movie he becomes more and more...possessive and its very annoying. jacob gets hurt and bella screws him over, kisses him to make him stay, and he remains the puppet. it makes you hate bella which i already do so its no problem :)

For lovers of the books, you will absolutely love this movie. At first I thought they were combining too much and it was going by too fast but by the tent scene I was a Happy Camper (so to speak). I know a lot of people are moving toward Jacob and his abs but you cannot deny the beauty that is Robert Pattinson as Edward. He gets better looking with each film and not only that you can tell that he truly was the right choice for Edward. I am however more of a Robert Pattinson fan, but this movie finally does his beauty justice. You can feel his jealousy towards Jacob and his angst about how he knows Bella would have a better more human life with Jacob. I love it, and for all those people who have no clue about the books or movies, yet spout nothing but hate for them anyway?? I say shut up and move on. Those of us who adore them will not stop, but you don't need to continue with the hate. Grow up and move on.

This movie is the best yet in the series. The parts of the book that were left out did not leave big gaps in the storyline. The actors portrayals show the change in the characters in the book. It's also nice that the rest of the Cullens had a bigger part in this movie. Maybe they should keep this director for Breaking Dawn. I would have preferred the original Victoria, though.

The script was something written by a sophomoric undergraduate feeling intense adolescent sexual urges. The acting was akin to watching a high school play of 'Much Ado About Nothing'. The overall entertainment value was a mirror of daily soap operas filled with young men whose only redeeming quality is their tan half naked bodies. Is it worth the price of admission? Not really. The fact that so many people packed the house to see it is a testament of how easily influenced the young are in this country.

I think this movie was the best of the three and its left me wanting more and now I can't wait for the 4th one. It was exciting, terrifying, moving, on the edge of your seat awesome and I would recommend this movie to all my friends and family to see. As soon as it comes out on DVD I will be there to buy it.

Eclipse was truer to the book than "Twilight" was, the action scenes were exciting as was the story of the newborns, the only reason I gave this movie 4 stars instead of five, is for me personally, I would have liked to have seen a little more of the romance story and a lot more of Robert Pattinson.

Although this movie followed the books more closely then the other 2, I felt that they foresaked important interactions within the Bella, Edward and Jacob triangle for nonsensical scenes of the newborns that never happened in the book. I also felt being that this book has the most action of the series the action scenes could've been a lot longer and more developed, epecially the training scene with Jasper.
