An avid moviegoer, had I listened to the mainstream critics I wouldn't have gone near this one. Fortunately, I decided to see it anyway. I was rewarded by a very entertaining movie and some decent performances by the principals.
Were it not for some small plot holes, I would have rated it excellent for keeping me on the edge of my seat and for giving me exactly what I go to the movies for... sheer entertainment, an involving story and interesting characters. Gerard Butler was especially good as the damaged and sympathetic (up to a point) antagonist.
Good supporting cast and great atmospheric location shots of Philly.

I went to this movie thinking it was a suspense movie. I'll tell you right up front that I don't like horror or gore type of movies. There was a lot of gore that didn't need to be there. I was very disappointed and they made the bad man likeable. i don't like the message it gives. Plus, the finale was a let down in that the special effects were so sophmoric that it looked like they were done by a low end home computer editing program. I don't recommend this movie at all.

This movie was very well done. Being in law enforcement these types of movies are usually very predictable, this one is not. I was not able to figure it out until it revealed itself at the end. It was a very enjoyable experience. Truly a thrill ride, but not for the faint of heart, it has some VERY graphic moments.

Jamie Foxx is so over-rated...I'm not a fan of his acting. Kudos to Gerard...superb! Movie? Over the top! Unrealistic as expected! But what killed it for me was Jamie Foxx's character. Attorney? Detective? He was waaay too involved outside the courtroom. Could they not afford to pay another character to be the Super Detective while Clyde was the attorney? I agree with those who hated the ending! You DON'T KILL A MASTERMIND SO EASILY!They missed a great place for a twist. Clyde should have at least gotten injured or maybe his wife or daughter. OMG, If you haven't already seen it, you must see it. I haven't seen a drama this good in a while. For a heads-up, there are some very gruesome scenes, but this movie is well worth your money!!! Went and saw Law Abiding Citizen on Halloween, it had plenty of action and suspense. Some things didn't add up but I tent to over analise things. The story line was easy to follow and the motives of the characters was obvious. I personally was hoping for a different ending but, none the less it was good. If you read the user reviews from the other 'Top Contributors', there is not much to add. 'Law Abiding Citizen' is a great movie, but the ending left me disappointed. My boyfriend and I saw this movie over the weekend and loved it. It is a great revenge movie of sorts. Most people would want to do the things he did if their family was harmed.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I went in open minded with no expectations. Good story line, the ending I thought tied into the whole story build up, excellent final scene. But I honestly feel it would have been alot better with some one other than Jamie Foxx at the lead. I could not get into his character which was lacking in skills. He brought nothing to the table and is in no way capable of a lead role in a major movie.

Excellent movie from beginning to end. It is amazing how grief and disappointment can transform a law abiding citizen with "a brain" into a deadly machine. I thought it was overkill on what happened to the guy who did the actual killing of the wife and daughter but didn't feel bad for him. He was so arrogant, he did deserve it. Jaime Fox good as a prosecutor but Gerald Butler was amazing as the father. This movie was very intense and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great movie.

This movie was a perfect example of a revenge flick. It showed a man pushed to the edge of his own sanity and emotions. What would you do if your family were murdered in front of you? I love the ending even though you felt some satisfaction during th flick with all the cool ways he was getting even, the ending was just right. If your a father and would protect your family or even get revenge watch this movie it will satisfy your thoughts
