This is a thinking person's movie - VERY well done! This is not for those who like to check their "smart" phone sixty times during the movie to see if they received a text. Shut your phone off and focus, you aren't as important as you think you are.
This movie is worth watching more than once as i'm sure I missed some things this first go around. I would definitely watch again either in theatre or on video.

As Wayne Dyer says, "we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience."
This movie supports many of the concepts I've read about in Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Stewart Wylde, and Ester and Jerry Hicks books. In these books we are told that our experience on earth is not reality, but more along the lines of a dream. When we wake from the dream, we are in heaven in our spiritual state, and we incarnate over and over much like the many dreams we have during our sleep.
My wife and I both loved this movie and plan to see it again. Not only was it entertaining, it was thought provoking.

Fast past and thought provoking moving. Great special effects and mind boggling scenes. Plot was complex, full of spins and turns. Kept you on the edge of your seat through the end. One of the best movies that I have seen this year.

This movie was a pleasant surprise. The basic premise of the movie, while having been done before, was executed in a truly unique way (without giving away any spoilers). I also didn't feel like the movie had any holes; it was, all in all, a very solid movie. Furthermore, I felt that the plot was extremely intellectually stimulating. The movie constantly kept you thinking -- if you are inclined to do so -- about what was really going on, or what might happen next.

We all know that Leonardo Di Caprio is one of the best actors of his time and he re-affirmed it with this movie. What made this movie more enjoyable was the effort put in by supporting cast.
Direction, Dialog and Music was superb. If there was one factor that kept it from being an excellent movie, IMHO was the storyline. While the story was interesting there were some loopholes that didn't hold up in an otherwise good movie.
For example the motivation for Cobb to come back to US lacked the conviction that would drive his character to take such risks. Showing a CEO of a company to tag along on a mission in the field was somewhat of a stretch. There were few other lapses that I don't want to mention for the fear of giving away the story for those that haven't seen it yet.
Word of caution for those planning on watching it - don't take a bathroom break :)

A good movie, but not as mind-blowing or complex as other reviewers say.
I appreciated the intricacy of the levels and the sub-plots, but felt many were undeveloped. A tricky and rigorous way to weave a story. A worthy effort.
The special effects are appreciable, but if you're following the real plot, it's a long and tedious way to get to resolution.
The Prestige, also by the same director, is a fantastic movie with much less character abstraction.

I"ve only walked-out on two movies in my life and this was the third. I left after the first hour and after trying very hard to like it. To say it was confusing is an understatement. I do not believe anyone truly understands this convoluted plot. The acting was mediocre, primarily because the CGI'S were the star. I'm sorry but I go to movies for a plot and character development and not all of the BS this movie showcased. Really boring and not entertaining. By all means skip-it.

In an age where actual thinking is not part of the process of moviegoing anymore, this was a refreshing change of pace.
This movie had everything: action, suspense, humor, romance, intrigue, you name it. It was like watching 5 movies in one, because as they explored each dream level you got to be a part of it, and to have it all going on simultaneously was pure genious.
Christopher Nolan is the best filmmaker of our time. Look him up in imdb.com and go rent every one of his films. You'll be glad you did.

Let me just start by saying that seeing this movie twice already says that I really like this movie. This feature is a thinker. I love movies that make you do you homework in the theater while at the same time you are enjoying the action and cinematography. The cast is wonderful. For about the first hour, my wife and I were both scratching our heads wondering what was happening. As soon as we figured out what the plot was we thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I'm not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews. I am a sci-fi movie lover and liked the movie but don't think it was excellent. There were some cool parts but some parts were hard to follow. Also the Asian man was hard to understand a few times. The movie was very "matrix like" which isn't a bad thing, it just makes you think of the matrix while you are watching the movie.

I don't know who thinks this stuff up....but, they have a vivid imagination! Could have been way over the top absurb....instead, I really liked the concept and kept my interest the whole time! Definitely a thriller but you have to pay attention during the whole movie, or you may lose track of what's happening or why they're doing what they're doing, when they're doing it. I become more and more impressed with Leonardo DiCaprio each movie he does....and all the rest of the cast works well together here. Just a really good movie to get you out of your own mind for 2+ hours!

I simply don't understand how such multiple levels of genius could be smooshed into a single creative brain.
Speaking of brains, mine were completely blown out of my ears.
If this doesn't win the Oscar for Best Picture That Could Possibly be Made in the Entire History and Future of Moviedom, then I'm boycotting the oscars forever.
I can barely tick off how superior this movie is in dozens and dozens of ways.

Since many people that I talked to said that this was in their "top 5 of all time," I believe I went in expecting to be blown away. While the special effects were amazing, and the storyline was original and intriguing, some parts of the movie left me wanting more. The love story aspect between DiCaprio's character and his 'wife' seemed forced and contrived. However, the flick is definitely worth seeing!
