This is a highly recommended 2 1/2 hr joy ride. This movie from beginning to end is very entertaining. It doesn't only rely on on it's special effects but has outstanding actors that draws you into this amazing well written and thought out production. The story line is deep and at points leaves you pushing for the lead character to succeed in his mission to reunite with his family. This flick is action pack for men and filled with enough passion for ladies to forget they are even enjoying an action movie.

At last a movie that draws a recognizable face to our subconscious; that cleverly establishes rules within our sleep mode and builds an inner landscape that makes sense according to who we are in our deepest end.
Inception could be seen as an understandable-by-anyone version of Lynch's cinema, full of Hollywood Grandeur at its best: action, music, beautiful lighting, top production-design and with one of the best original scripts this decade will see.
Two and a half hours of quizzing intrigue that will make you think everything happened in a split second... Like in our dreams... Or is it the other way around?

This movie entails a very complex storyline. I was really impressed how they were really able to hold it together. The movie has virtually no lulls, so you really can't afford to take your eyes off the screen or stop paying attention. It's just constantly unraveling relevant details to the plot or filled with action.
I have two minor complaints about the movie. I think they screwed up with the casting of Ellen Page in her role. She didn't seem right for the part at all. And secondly, for some unexplainable reason, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance was a total impersonation of Keanu Reeves. I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to do that - and I'm pretty sure that wasn't his intention - but it was a little distracting.
Other than those two issues, this is another great example of a Christopher Nolan classic in the making. Might I note that Hans Zimmer composed the music for this movie as well (he co-composed the music for The Dark Knight). The dramatic cinematography, along with the dramatic soundtrack, really just tie this entire movie together. Very, very good.

This movie pulls you in and doesn't let you up, even when the credits are rolling. Excellent special effects, great mind-twisting plot, and great characterizations. Best movie I've seen in a while and would happily sit through it's 2+ hours again.

This summer movie season has been so disappointing -- until "Inception". Intriguing concept, intelligent dialogue, great cast and mind-blowing visuals -- it was a rare and satisfying combination! If you have a soft spot for stories that challenge reality v. dreams, if you love movies like The Matrix, or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or Waking Life, this is Chis Nolan's gift to us!!! Layers of dreams, not one but two major stories in parallel, and gorgeous surreal sets make the movie, but make sure you're not mind is alert to keep up with the intricacies. (Not recommended for limited English speakers, not without translation.) Chris Nolan is also a genius of casting from Memento, The Prestige, and the Batman series, and this is no different. Batman alums Ken Watanabe and Cillian Murphy are now in the spotlight in all their genius and screen presence, as well as a cameo by another Nolan favorite. DiCaprio and Cotillard are beautiful and captivating. Ellen Page was a bit of a Katie Holmes for me, but she did well. If nothing else, this movie should be appreciated for its originality and craft in a summer and year full of boring remakes like Karate Kid, A-Team and Predator. Hands down Best Movie of the Year so far!

Inception was a thrilling ride, literally! You will see that a lot of what is happening at at least one level is a ride in cabs then a van - whew! Keeping track of all the levels keeps you on your toes, and Ellen Page is as sharp and engaging as any of the more seasoned actors. Lots of crash and bang for action picture fans, but I loved the intellectual layers. Was trying to give 4 1/2 stars, but it wouldn't let me!

Inception was a fantastic movie for the mind and the senses. The visual effects were stimulating and well done while the storyline held up better than a good majority of movies that have been in the theater in a while. I'd recommend this movie to just about anyone, but if you are a Scifi fan then you can't miss it. The acting of the secondary role characters was fantastic and I was surprised how even the smallest character was interesting in their own way. I give this movie five stars and am excited to see it again. It's nice to know that you don't need 3D gimmicks to see a good movie when 3D is taking over the industry.

There was so much hype around this movie, and Nolan is clearly a genius, but Inception did not quite live up to the hype. Very creative, and once the final dream sequences with Fischer begin it's non-stop thrilling action, but as a whole, just good, not incredible, in my opinion.

This movie was wonderful; well-crafted, the actors were all suited for their roles, and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The other day, my grandfather said that he wished that some sort of action film would get nominated for best picture because that is the best type of movie out there. Well, this certainly is an action movie, and maybe my grandfather's wish will come true. Everything seemed to be very fluid and work well to tell the story. I especially enjoyed the way that the scenes jumped from one dream-layer to the next. You got to see each story unfold in a creative and exciting way. The overall concept of being able to explore someone else's dream was fascinating as well. The idea of inception and extraction seemed to be well-developed techniques in the movie, and I enjoyed every minute of seeing inside what each person had imagined. They were able to create something innovative with this movie that will be sure to capture the attention and imagination of almost anyone who sees this film. I highly recommend this film to anyone who has a passion for good movies. Christopher Nolan definitely did a splendid job writing, directing, and producing this film. I am sure that I will own it once it comes out on dvd.

Let me begin by stating I don't care much for action films. I didn't used to feel this way and this movie is a good example of how I developed a disdain for the genre. The premise of the film is the possibility of planting an idea in another person's mind. Okay, that's good, however, the REASON for planting this particular idea seemed silly. It's called CORPORATE TAKEOVER & there are a lot of ways that are less-involved & more believable than this to accomplish that end. Only one character in this film has any development at all, and that's DiCaprio's, The other actors tend to run through this film as mercenary props for his angst. Be that as it may, it was reminiscent of "Shutter Island" without a propelling character to care about. When the reason for DiCaprio's guilt is revealed, I wanted to scream "Yeah, I figured that out about 5 reels ago." Furthermore, would it be possible to have an action film where people DID NOT outrun EXPLOSIONS and duck from bullets? I can stand a little fantasy, but good grief! Let's get this straight: Bullets move faster than the speed of sound. If you HEAR the shot, you're already dead. There is NO time to duck. BUT, hey, if you can outrun an explosion, dodging bullets should be a piece of cake. While there were some inaccurate foley moments, the special effects were good and Ellen Page was credible given the cliche script and character she was given to play. I enjoyed "Memento" and there are some moments in this film that brought that flick to mind, however, THIS offering stretched believability to a breaking point and without a corresponding sympathetic protagonist to care about, it fell flat for me. BE THAT AS IT MAY, I feel certain that most people that are fond of action films will find this enjoyable.

Total mind blower!!!!!!!!!! The matrix, which this movie has been compared to, has nothing on Christopher Nolan and his insane genius. There was 3-4 minutes where my wife and I didn't want to breath because of the suspense. You are luck this movie is only $10.00/ ticket; I would have certainly paid more. Excellently directed, acted, edited, and the ending will make you want to get back in line, to see it again. YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM!

Excellent movie!! The "wow" factor with the special effects is mind-blowing, and the premise of stealing/planting ideas in someone's subconscious via their dreams is fascinating and terrifying at the same time....an intelligent and thought-provoking movie, I will see it again at the theatre and will definitely buy the DVD!!!

Entertaining premise and execution. Thought the actors and actresses fit their roles well. Liked the films ending. I had read that it was on the order of James Bond meets Matrix. That's a close approximation without giving away any details. It was fun...go see it!

More than anything what stood out to me about this film was the quality job done in the editing lab. Right from the outset one can tell that this film is anything but simple. The editing of the multiple story lines flows through the film with utter fluidity. The actors of this stellar cast complement each other throughout the film. The special effects are elegant and not overused. One thing about Nolan's films is that he only uses special effects when he absolutely needs to, which is admirable in an age when so often special effects overshadow actor's performances and story. The story can be confusing due to multiple storylines that are cyclical throughout the film, but if you simply pay attention and listen clearly, by the time the 2-1/2 hour film comes to its grand conclusion, there will be little left to answer. Inception is a quality blend of blockbuster appeal, and Unique filmmaking auteurism. The editing of this film should be a sure fire Oscar contender. This is Nolan's best film so far.
