This is not your ordinary 'popcorn' movie. You need your thinking cap screwed on tight to follow the story and the concepts that drive the movie. That being said, I enjoyed the movie immensely and highly recommend it. The visuals are beyond stunning and I kept asking myself "how do they do that". Christopher Nolan, the writer and director, must be on some serious medications to conceive of what you see in Inception. I think I may see it again because it is a lot to grasp in one sitting.

Inception is hands down the best suspense/thriller/mindbender to come out in years (maybe since another Nolan film, The Prestige). The writing is creative and beautifully crafted, the story was compelling, the music was intense, and even the ending didn't disappoint. An all-around great movie-going experience...I'll DEFINITELY see it again on IMAX next time.

This was one of the best movie going experiences I have ever had. Right from the deep based music that starts the movie I was hooked. Reminded me of the first time I saw the original Matrix. Inventive, different, beautiful & the cast was superb. You could feel they new they were making something special. I've read a couple of the hated reviews on this and it's hard to believe! I feel like some people forget that the movies are supposed to be fun! That's what this movie is: FUN & ORIGINAL. What more could you ask for. It's not trying to be The English Patient and it's surely not just another shoot-em up. Congrats to Nolan.

I haven't been so antsy in my seat for a movie in years. Its very suspenseful and full of fantasy. Christopher Nolan has done an excellent job directing another great thriller. Inception pushes the boundaries of the usual movie going experience. I love it!

his film is awful. Not that there isn't a lot of talent and effort, but the film is empty of emotion (despite DiCaprio's penchant for looking as if he is thinking deeply, a character seen in his last 5 films), has so many plot holes it needs a Chicago street crew, and bounces from one ridiculously bullet riddled seen to the next. It is a juvenile concept, no rather just an idea, a dream in a dream in a dream, and the supposedly single motivating issue ("they won't let me back in the USA to see my children") is paper thin. Yes, there are a few pretty well executed effects (Paris street scene) but even these effects are lost in a convoluted mess of following three, make that four, evolving plots, each with shoot-em-ups that are trite, dreadfully long, and of course bloodless, all of which need to culminate at the same time. And talk about no tension, they make you watch 5 people lay down and sleep about a dozen times. The story opens with a superfluous gambit that introduces characters that are thrown away. But perhaps the biggest put-off and reason enough to walk out is the first hour's rapid banter of explanation, as if to say, "This film is so ridiculous we need to tell you everything that might, will, and does happen." Michael Caine has a wasted brief fatherly cameo, Ellen Page is bright and intelligent but lacks the gravitas the role needs, Marion Cotillard is good (she cries well), Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn't come across well, Tom Hardy is way to glib, Dileep Rao is believable, Ken Watanabe is overly cryptic, Tom Berrenger makes sense, and DiCaprio is so intense his pimples pop. Only Cillian Murphy delivers a character that stays with you. This film, thanks to the writing and direction of the brilliant Chris Nolan, could not be edited.

Another Movie-Goer said it looked like the film maker was on a bad drug trip. I agree whole heartedly. It was extremely confusing and wildly all over the place. There was absolutely no cohesion whatsoever and the plot line was- wait- there WAS no plot line. Was there at least a theme? No. How about characters you could care about? Maybe. Two small children who the writers ATTEMPT to use to create some heart felt meaning at the end. Um, didn't work on me. I want my 2 hours and 28 minutes of my life back. Save your time. If you are THAT bored, wait till it comes out on DVD. Ugh.

This movie is an instant classic. It definitely lived up to the hype. This has so many different moods to it. In the beginning it starts off, and you really don't know what's going on, then they start explaining things, as the movie goes on, it gets a little confusing but very interesting, and by the end of the movie you're completely surprised but sad at the same time. Somehow this movie isn't very suspenseful but it still keeps you on the edge. Just a great movie original movie. You totally don't expect what the ending gives you. Just awesome. The D-box seats added an amazing realistic experience as well.

This movie made you think from the beginning to the end. So far, this is one of the best movies of 2010. Marion made me dislike her character so much, her acting was incredible. You just didn't know what was real or fake anymore. Probably one of Leo's best performances ever.

This ties for the one of the three worst movies I have ever paid to see. Appreciate that this is a minority opinion, but I don't see how anyone above driving age didn't have something better to do with their time, let alone their money. If I were in puberty and fascinated by playing computer games, I might would have been entertained.
The story was shallow and did not reflect sane adult thinking. There are much better science fiction movies available, and they are presented well. The beginning of the movie was crazy confused and disjointed. It git clearer, but by then two of the four people I went with had left to find a bar. The two of us who did stay regretted it because that was another hour of our life we will never get back.
For those who just like lots of crashes, and booms, you will not be totally disappointed, this movie has a lot of that even if it did look like the creator was having a bad drug trip.

What a movie. We have an interesting exploration of what is possible through dreams, and we have decent internal conflict. DiCaprio does his Shutter Island thing while Nolan brings a somewhat brighter but no less moody and fascinating directing and heavy bass sound effects. the movie is simply amazing, and has set a bar that will compare it to the Matrix at least in a few parts. The action is generic most of the time, but there is one truly original fight that will have you scratching your head; the puzzle of the movie itself is best experienced live.

When I first saw previews for this I thought the plot had something to do with government conspiracies and all the typical fare that comes with it. I was dead wrong and am so glad that I was. Inception was one of the best sci-fi action films I have seen in a long time. Leonardo DiCaprio instantly regained his man-card in my mind and redeemed himself from the Titanic, haha. If you haven't seen this movie. Go see it. Now.

This movie is very compelling. I was wary of the hype, but I am now thoroughly convinced of its appropriateness. Inception is profound and surreal. Its content is so rich, and its layers so deep I feel that I only got a superficial grasp of it after my first viewing. I couldn't sleep for hours thinking about the fantastic visuals, the genius cinematography, and the mindblowing plot - endless fuel for mental play. I'm going to see it again; and it's one of those rare cases where I don't feel like I'm wasting my money rewatching a box office movie. I truly believe it'll be a different experience the second time around. It's that good.

Brilliantly conceived movie. Go see it in the theater because the special effects are fantastic. If I could change anything, the motivation for the inception would be something other than corporate espionage, but then again, movies and TV shows where the whole fate of the world hangs in the balance are kind of overdone, so perhaps it's refreshing that the motivation is good old fashioned greed. In any event, it's spectacular movie.

Based on the trailers alone, one may think this movie is limited solely to mind-blowing special effects that beg the question "How did they do that?". Six of us went to see the movie ranging in ages from 11 to 49. The action was terrific for the teenage boys. The story has a great idea. The length was a bit over the top for what had to get accomplished. Most said it was confusing. However, I liked thinking about it the next day. The only language issues came when a main character used the Lord's name in vain during a crisis moment.

What a great night at the movies! First, great acting. Something not always found in big summer movies. Marion Cotillard was incredible every time she hit the screen. DeCaprio was wonderful as always and the rest of the cast was great. The plot was convoluted but the script did a good job of guiding you through the elaborated concept. The fight scene in the hotel where there was no gravity was incredible and later where he created gravity in the elevator shaft was my favorite. So clever and gorgeous to watch.

It really surprised me that I could never predict what was going to happen next as I can do with many movies. It kept me on the edge of my seat and blew my mind with all of the twists and turns to the very end. Definately one worth seeing!

Inception is like riding an amazing rollercoaster for the first time. First you wonder if its going to live up to the hype, then you ride it and it absolutely blows your mind and all you want to do is ride it over and over again. Every 10 years or so a movie is made that changes everything you knew about movies and how good they could be (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Matrix, Lord of the Rings etc...). Grounding breaking special effects with a great story! I went with my wife who didn't think she would like it, and she loved it! This is the movie people will talk about for years to come! I will see this movie again!

Just didn't work for me. Not enough detail to make it seem believable. They could have done away with a few explosions, car chases, and fight scenes and developed some of the underlying concepts. Yeah, di caprio has a pretty face, but that can't make up for the fact that this movie is weak on details and too heavy on explosions and fighting. As with most movies - save your money.

This movie is very good, right off the bat. However, it is not like the Dark Knight. In some cases it is better, in some cases worse, in some cases, the same. This movie is not made by the performances, the only one that really stood out was Ellen Page, who did phenomenally, nothing extraordinary with anyone else. This movie is very original and different from any other movie out there. However, like the Dark Knight, this film can get slightly confusing, so watch out!

Great Date Movie! We discussed it for hours after it ended. I was on the edge of my seat from the moment it started to the time it ended. The movie's twists and turns leave you wondering to the end. A beautiful, elegant, and fast pace instant sci-fi classic.
