If you love "The Matrix," you'll be disappointed in this movie. I guess my expectations were way higher than they should have been based on the feedback I had read. I was so disappointed in how the dreams lacked imagination. There were some great sequences and excellent visual effects, but overall the movie was slow and the great sequences were too far apart. I also did not like the suicide themes that were so integral to the plot of the movie. That was depressing.

I didn't even realize this film was 2 1/2 hours. Is gripping, has excellent cast, effects and the concept is maintained from beginning to end of the film. If you like the Matrix, you'll probably enjoy this film as well. I'll be seeing it again.

It does not take 2.5 hours to tell this simple story, yet the director drags out one concept with only 30 mins of special effects towards the end of the movie.
To get a rival to decide to close his father's business, the team must enter his dream and convince him it was HIS idea.
Ok, understood. Quickly. Since the movie takes place in the rival's dream mostly, one begins to think: I cannot relate to this. Most dreams are nowhere near this.
Trying to mesh James Bond explosions with Matrix concepts is fine - but 2.5 hours to tell this story was too much. I found myself glancing at my watch from 30 mins into the movie...when will this END???
Leonardo does not do anything to make himself own his character; in other words, replace him with ANYONE in Hollywood and one wouldn't notice the change. In fact, no character in the movie stands out as someone you care about.
Forget the hype and ignore the rave reviews...save your money.
You might even consider passing this movie when it comes out on cable.

The movie keeps you guessing and wondering whats going to happen next. The effects and CGI are awesome and the cast is great. Leonardo DiCaprio is in top form. Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard are each fun to watch and bring something special to their individual rolls, and in turn makes the movie better on the whole - the casting is excellent. Its a very unique story and is great escapism entertainment.

The premise of this movie is quite interesting. At the beginning I thought it was going to be a load of hokum, but eventually I got over that as the plot became more "concrete". I often get confused when there is manipulation of space and time in movies, however, I think this movie handled it quite well (e.g. sufficient difference between plot lines to make them easily discernible). I do think there were some inconsistencies that affected my ability to completely fall in love with the movie, but it was worth watching. My wife and I often don't agree on movies, but this one we pretty much mutually enjoyed... and that was an added benefit.

Fantastic storyline, well crafted to the end. This is not a movie for the shallow of thought. You might even say a leap of faith for what could be. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who asks.
