One of the best movies in a whlle, Leanordo does a great job, as typical, as supporting cast supports without fail. this is not a movie to be taken lightly or paid minimal attention. Those that are going for just special effects may be disappointed (not that it does not have great effects, as it does) but it is a lot more than that. As there are dreams within dreams, there are subplots withing subplots - but it all makes sence ultimately. Well scripted and lots of fun, especially thinking mans fun.

I left the theater with my daughter not knowing whether I enjoyed this movie or not. I'm still not sure. I don't want to say I didn't like it because that isn't exactly how I feel but I can say that I do wish I'd have gone to see The Karate Kid instead. The special effects (which these days are no longer all that 'special') were very good, the acting was pretty awesome but the story itself was just too weird. On top of being confusing, it was just WAY too far fetched. Save your money and rent it when it comes out on DVD.

With all the marquees lit up with mostly hack remakes and unoriginal ideas these days, Inception stands out as a satisfying gem.
It is, at it's core, a sci-fi thriller that hits the same notes and beats as TV's "Lost", minus the stretched out and over-wrought mythology. Most of the action occurs in a dreamscape that doesn't seem so dreamlike, so the viewer doesn't get too lost in the fantasy. There are rules, and there are layers, but it's not too hard to keep track due to deft explanation. It's fun and thought provoking.
The depth of storytelling harkens back to Christopher Nolan's "Following", with even some noir flourishes at times. Nolan is definitely at the top of his game here.
Overall, it's a great cerebral flick that will captivate. It relies on a little bit of patient attention from the viewer early on as the rules are laid out, but then a switch is flipped and the action kicks in. If you're looking for a mindless romp, stay away. But if you're looking for one of the most original ideas to hit the big screen since Fight Club or The Matrix, it's a must-see.

This time of the year is hot, and sticky for some. This is a great movie to go and enjoy while we are in the midst of Dog Days of Summer. It is fun, and you have to pay attention to follow along. I enjoyed this film. I gave it only 4/5 stars because I thought it was a solid film, but not the best of all time.

This film is truly a brilliant, detailed, action packed, suspense filled movie that held your eyes wide open and made your imagination soar. I loved the plot twists, and depth of storyline that made it complex. It brings back the hope that I have lost in the movie industry since the Matrix came a decade ago. Hopefully we have more movies like Inception, and less terribly made comic book and transformers debacles with plots a 5 year old can follow.
To all those reviewers out there who think this movie is too complicated.. I just don't know what to say, they set it all up for you and show you exactly when they go into a dream. The ambiguity is intentional at times to make you think and it's brilliantly done. I wish more movies were this intelligent, deep and suspenseful.
Well done. I would love to see this film again, and highly recommend it.

First, for anyone you know (or any review you read) that says it was "too complicated" or "too confusing" let me tell you, those people just forgot to take their adderall.
I can't say I got 100% of everything, but, I got 95-99% of it all. It just takes a little patience.
Anyway, that was some of the best story telling and inter-weaving stories as I've seen in any movie. This beats Memento by miles and rivals even the great Pulp Fiction. I found this to be so suspenseful that I actually bit off one of my fingernails!
I am not a big fan of some of Nolan's movies (actually, just the two batman movies. I thought they were butchered (more for acting though really)). This however is a work of art. The ONLY critique I have is shorten it from 2.5 hours to just 2 hours. I KNOW there is some stuff in there that just isn't necessary to the plot.
I would highly recommend watching this. Oh, and someone said not to get up from your seat. I agree.

There are no negatives about inception. From start to finish you watch in awe of the mind of Christopher Nolan. I loved momento and was hoping for more of the same and boy I was not dissapointed. With touches of the MAtrix to add to the Christopher Nolan mind this film is amazing to watch. While it may be 2 hrs and 28 minutes they are worth every minute. You never feel the length as you are engrossed in the journey that is INCEPTION.

I thought this movie was excellent! It took some time in the beginning to grasp what was going on, but all plot elements were cleverly (and thoroughly, in my opinion) revealed. From then on, it was nonstop action and interesting plot twists. I agree that the end makes it all worth it! Also I was amazed that the entire movie theater erupted into applause when it ended, but that just goes to show that it was a well crafted movie. People will definitely be talking about this one...

Someone said this movie was 2.5 hour long. I don't believe it. The plot and pace kept me riveted througout. It couldn't have been that long. It was over before I knew it. It was complex, yes, that that's part of the mastery of this movie, and what makes it challenging. The writer/director/editor threaded the various plots and levels seamlessly. If you're not concentrating, you may get lost, so listen up. I relived the movie in my head (and in my dreams) long after it was over. You will hold your breath at the end, and be shocked. At least I was. The perfect wrap.

It pains me to say this as I was reallying looking forward to this movie, but it was just too confusing. So much so that I have NO desire to see it a second time to try and "figure it out". I didn't know what to expect going into this movie. What I got was a twisting roller coaster ride where I was never sure what was really going on until the end of the movie. Christopher Nolan did a masterful job of blending the story with amazing visuals and by the middle of the movie you were following three different but interconnected stories that were all part of the core story of the movie.
Speaking of the end of the movie, this doesn't have your topical Hollywood ending. I saw this with a group of friends and each of us had a different take on the ending. I can even see coming to different conclusions myself when I see this movie again. The ending of this movie made this movie worth watching.
One word of advice though, don't leave the theater for any reason when you see this movie. Every part of this movie is important and if you miss something you could very easily get lost.

All in all I thought this was a very good effort but it was too long, too complicated and filled with too many action scens that did not help the progression of the story. Special effects were amazing. The psychobabble was a bit too much but at least they tried to take on some thought provoking themes which in this age of short attention spans is commendable.

The movie combines a classic question of "what is reality" with engaging action sequences. It was a nice divergence from recent years of futuristic/technology-based films focused on alternate reality --the concentration on dreams, a natural and fascinating part of our lives, made it seem plausible. My only critique would be that given it was set in dreamworld, there was an opportunity for it to push fantasy - it mimicked real settings/accepted "reality" rather than obscure/bizarre happenings that often occur in dreams. The cast and acting was great.

I loved this movie. Yes, it's complex and slightly confusing at the beginning...but that also means it's deeply layered and worth watching many times. It's a perfectly-done production, excellent acting and fantastic effects. But the concept and story are even better.
It's not all action (although there's plenty!). It takes its time and reveals layers of story throughout the 2.5 hours of the film.
If you liked The Matrix, Dreamscape, or Dark City, you will LOVE this movie!

Inception has been the summers most talked about movie, in a summer where there has been precious little to get excited about. I’ll get right to the point: This movie started out confusing to me and never straightened itself out. I was confused from start to finish. I defy any movie goer to explain what happened in this movie to a friend.
It’s hard to even discuss what the movie was about. Dom Cobb (played by DiCaprio) has developed an ability to get into other peoples subconscious via their dreams. That’s a bit simplistic, but will suffice for this review. Anyway, along with a crew of help, Cobb works professionally to try and use his skills to obtain information from unsuspecting victims for people with money.
Cobb crosses paths with Saito (Ken Watanabe) and agrees to try and pull of a mind caper in exchange for the ability to return to the US where he faces charges of murdering his own wife.
This movie goes into hyper drive with all sorts of action in scenes that I had no clue as to what all was going on. Cobb and his crew are into a third level of dream invasion and the film is simultaneously showing action from all three scenes. There were a few cool looking special effects, but they were irrelevant to the movie at large, I felt. Every scene where Cobb and crew ends up there is practically the equivalent of a paramilitary organization waiting to gun them down. Incredibly, with firepower that would blow your mind, the dream crew never seems to suffer any casualties. It’s simply way too much to believe.
This is a movie that tries to do way too much with far too little. Given the complex nature of the film, I think they would have been better off to run a more simple set of sequences, saving something like this for a sequel when viewers might have a better idea what is happening.
Save your money. This can easily wait for DVD if you think you have to see it. I think longer term box office will really disappoint.

This was a great movie! My husband and my 13 year old daughter both loved it too! We talked about it for at least 30 minutes after the movie was over (you will understand why after you see the movie). The acting is great and the special effects are amazing!

This movie really appealed to our two 13 year-old sons, who admitted to being really confused at the beginning of the movie, and only mildly confused during the remainder. The four adults accompanying them thought the movie was a waste of time and money.
