I went to this movie based on 2 critics high claims of this being the best comedy. I did not agree with their views. It was an okay movie. Not laugh out of your seat as I was led to believe. Their was really good chemistry between Willis and Morgan. I really enjoyed seeing Tracy play straight man to Sean William Scott who I thought was really funny/annoying in this movie. I would not have rushed to the theater to see this like I did but would still say it was a pretty okay movie to watch.

At first, you want to associate this with all of the 'comedy-cop-odd-partner' movies out there, like the Lethal Weapon series. Then, you realize that the kind of humor instilled throughout is very different. You see some good ol' slap-stick, some odd-couple-paring moments and then some unexpected humor until the very end.
Seann William Scott was a scene stealer indeed.
I think I'll add it to my comedy movie collection.

I went into this movie thinking it'd be funny because of Tracy Morgan and Seann William Scott, but it ended up that ever aspect of this movie was hilarious. I did not expect much. My wife and two friends wanted to go, so I had to Ever the optimist, I hoped that there might be some funny parts and it was less than two hours long. But I was wrong. I laughed once -- at the Susie Essman scene, but she was just playing her Curb Your Enthusiasm role -- and smiled two or three times. Tracy Morgan is perhaps the least funny, most annoying, purely one-dimensional "comic" actor in history. He looked like an inarticulate Idi Amin Dada. Could someone lend him some money for elocution lessons so I could understand more than 50% of his lines? Never mind. I hated the lines I understood. The rating system should be changed for movies like this. I'd like to give it negative ten stars, or even a black hole.

I have to say "Cop Out" was a "COP OUT!!!" "Cop Out" has it's moments, it was at times hilarious, but mostly it was stupid. Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are two NYPD veteran police officers. They use unorthodoxed methods to nab their criminals. One bust goes bad and this lands them both a 30 day suspension, but even without their department issued badges and guns they continue being Cops. The story unfolds from there..."Cop Out" was at times laugh out loud funny and other times laugh out loud stupid. I found myself checking my watch in the darkened theater about 90 minutes into the movie. I was ready for it to be over. There is some seriously crude language that is used throughout the movie, for which I could have done with out.

Throughout the movie, I don't know if it was just the lady in front of me kicking a bar she was resting her feet on like an aggravated horse or that this movie just wasn't as great comically as I was expecting. Tracy Morgan made me giggle the entirety of the movie, yet I felt like something was missing the whole time. Maybe it's because I've seen this movie acted out with other actors several times before and was bored with the plot line. The movie also has many unneeded cuss words and an unneeded sexual scene, but if that doesn't bother you, along with a predictable storyline, then go see it. Also, please don't take your kids to see this. We were sitting next to an 8 year old; it was not a great movie choice for him/her to be watching.

Very disappointing cop buddy comedy flick. It was if some off-season Saturday Night Live cast & crew got together and decided to stretch out a funny cop skit into a movie, called Bruce Willis to see if he had the time to add a bit of "heft" .... and then "slapped some jokes together" ..... and just "blenderized" the whole thing hoping that the finished product would be something worthwhile. It's not. Many of the people involved in this "cop out" should be "arrested" for "pretending to be funny enough" to invest 110 minutes of our lives and $20 of our hard-earned movie money. "We was robbed!"
