Tracy Morgan just sucks as an actor. He can do only one face for all scenes. Terrible performance since the first 5 minutes of the movie where he pretend to act out famous lines from different movies, unless Bruce Willis would clarify which movie you couldn't tell that he even repeating some one famous. For his show may be he is great but he just ruined this comedy. Bruce is awesome as always! Sean Williams is just hilarious! wait till credits roll! Save money wait it until the dvd!

Although this was not a total bomb, it was tiring to watch. Laced with one bad zinger after another, "Cop Out" becomes way too predictable and tiring about 30 minutes into the movie. I never saw this as much of a drama, but rather sophomoric comedy interwoven with faux dramatic moments. Skip it unless you are willing to check your brain at the door.

I had forgotten that this was a Kevin Smith movie (Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, etc.) and was pleasantly surprised. I love Tracy Morgan, and if you do too then you will definitely like this movie. Sean William Scott is always a good weirdo :) And c'mon, Bruce Willis could sit in a chair and read a newspaper for an hour and 30 minutes and it would be AWESOME. For laughs, go see it!

Had I not had two boxes of candy, a large popcorn and drink to devour, I would have probably got up and left half way through the movie. The story line drags on and on, and you can pretty much predict the end before you get to the end. I wouldn't say it's family friendly given some offensive language throughout the movie, but it didn't bother me much. This is one of those movies that I would have rather rented for a buck at the Red Box machine.

As a Bruce Willis fan, I found this funny but not his finest. Kevin Smith's directing was also ok but nothing more and the script never took off. The supporting cast is good. Kevin Pollack from the Whole 9 Yards, Tracy Morgan and Fred Armisen from SNL, Seann William Scott, and of course Smith's favorite Jason Lee. It does have its funny moments and the ending is satisfying if somewhat uninspired. This is the kind of film that is a good dvd rental.

The movie was not that bad. The production quality was lacking. It was entertaining in spots. I agree the drug dealer was a little over the top, just bad acting. Don't pay full price, see in am or for matinee & see with friends, don't waste a date night.

I got pushed into going to this movie. I was expecting something like '48 Hours'. I certainly was surprised to find it had a lot of comedy! The actors made a great combination, and every one laughed at a lot of the parts during the movie. The storyline is a little weak, but overall, a good movie. The premise is not new but has potential to be different than the other "serious cop / silly cop comedies". There are some laughs. More jokes missed than hit. OK, a lot more missed than hit.
There are more negative things to say than positive for this movie. It would appeal more to the fans of Tracy Morgan and Seann William Scott than fans of Bruce Willis. This is a comedy (or tried to be) with Tracy and Seann presenting most the attempts at humor. Both went too far and over acted in my opinion. There may be some people that find the humor entertaining.
If you are curious to see this film, wait until it hits the discount theaters or the Library.

I wonder if Bruce Willis read the script before shooting! The storyline was weak, and there wasn't much chemistry between Willis and Tracy Morgan. Guess this was pretty much a cash grab for Willis, and it certainly won't help Morgan's film prospects!

Wow Kevin Smith, you really blew this one.
The sound track was SO BAD it was distracting to the film. There was no exposition, and from start to end, we don't really care about the characters. The story was just bad, and although I love Tracey Morgan, his missed the mark on this one.
Bruce Willis looked too young for his age to the point that it was distracting.
