Hi,
I went to IMAX - 3D to best enjoy the movie. But disappointed with the size or area of which it is covered on IMAX. Almost 30 % of screen area is empty and we can say it is "I not MAX" I really surprised of this first.
Later the movie also is not good to that of hype that is created. Its too much imagination put in to motion. Ugly alien faces , unnecessary scenes etc..
Overall it is too bad the day , i can't forget this bad experience.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This is one of the best pictures I have ever watched so far. The photography is simply superb. Every actor did his best. James Cameron is one of the best directors.

Long movie but could not have been shortened by much. Difficult for people who do not have binocular vision and can't really see 3D to not have a non-3D showing.
Beautiful graphics, animation. Good story even for people who do not generally like sci-fi and fantasy.

I was totally enthralled for the entire 2 hrs and 40 minutes. The technology was mind blowing.
The story was wonderful even though there was a lot of violence, none of it was gratuitous.
I highly recommend that everyone go see this movie in the new 3D effect. Can't wait for the next one. Hope there will be a sequel.

This movie is one of the best I've ever seen. Not since I went to the opening night of Star Wars in the theater in 1977 have I been as thrilled with the breakthroughs in technology and drama presentation. I've only seen a few movies more than once in the theater -- this one is on that very short list.

The 3D Imax version of this film is unforgettable. Even though I got a mild headache and nausea from the 3D viewing, it was worth it. The movie was well-crafted with numerous layers such as some parallels with the Native American story and David and Goliath. There are many themes in the film such as "take care of the earth", "love lasts forever", "greed is wrong", and "all life on a planet is interconnected". This is another film from James Cameron that will live long in people's minds.

Amazing how far 3-D graphics have come as well as CGI. You almost feel as if you are right there being an invisible observer to this wonderful movie. The movies story line was very good but we've seen this story many other times and in other good films (as well as bad films). However what really made the story pop on screen was the 3-D as you could almost feel the sense of wonder and the discovery of something new wash over you. 2.75 hours never felt so fast.

Extremely entertaining, took a lot of work to do this movie and it shows. I would recommend this movie to all ages over 12 years to 105. It is worth seeing. I will see it again.

This movie had: adventure, romance, beautiful colors, excitement, good lessons about life, action, creativity, emotion, originality & partial nudity.
It also had alot of violence, bad lessons about life, hatred & partial but tasteful nudity.
I really liked it, but it was overall a sad story. I see a sequel coming though!

James Cameron really out did himself with this movie. I liked it so much I saw it twice: Digital 3D (Real D), and IMAX 3D. If there is a sequel I would se it in a heartbeat.

This a very good experience except for the fact that you expect a crystal clear digital picture only to have to deal with the 2 cent scratched up plastic 3d glasses. No different than any old 3D movie. The story line was great.

Really, there's no other way to watch this film.
The 3D effect was stunning and spectacular, and unlike most 3D films, did not frequently resort to cheesy tricks like having ball or pointy object come too far out of the screen.
The plot was not nearly up to the same level of polish as the visual effects, although it was a serviceable "noble savage" morality tale as long as you didn't think too hard about it. For example, in the beginning of the film brief mention made of the MacGuffin still has the screenwriter's placeholder text as a name.
Otherwise it was a mostly thin plot (the villians were unequivocally evil) that followed a "Dragonball" type arc of steady powerups for the hero and "fighting => friendship."

Technologically speaking, this film is an achievement... however, as a film... it is ultimately a derivative and cliche-ridden spectacle.
While I did certainly enjoy the visual impact of the film, I found the lack of character development and simplistic storyline disappointing. If James Cameron had spent even a fraction of his budget securing a better screenplay and script instead of developing new video technology, this film would have benefitted greatly. I applaud his efforts at pushing the visual aspect of the medium... while at the same time chastising his generic characters and disappointing plot-holes.
In final analysis, it is truly a case of style over substance... turn off your brain and marvel at the beautiful scenery;)

This was by far the best movie I have seen. The characters were so real and the story line was great. We liked it so much that we came back and brought our grandchildren the next week. I saw so much more the second time that I had missed the first time. This is a movie for the ages. The i-max and 3D experience was unbelievable. The story makes you think about how we really are and that we really need to change as a people and a society.

Avatar was 5Stars! The theater is not a true IMAX. I felt cheated by the 13.00 ticket price.
I am going to the Avatar 3D at the acutal IMAX theater in Ft. Lauderdale. Anyone that thinks the Aventura IMAX is good hasnt gone to the real IMAX. The screen is so much better and bigger. So is the sound system.
The ceiling at AMC Aventura IMAX is almost reflective and bothers the eye when looking up at the screen. The seating was also poor.

#1. Film is great and moving
#2. AVATAR was NOT shot in IMAX film type
#3. The AMC 24 Sunset place in Miami is NOT IMAX its half size IMAX.
#4. the AMC Sunset Place 24 IMAX has poor customer service. And smells bad. lines are disorganized.
