Most amazing creation I've seen in film - the animation (if you could call it that) was completely believable, the story was classic good guys vs bad guys, and the planet was breathtaking. I saw it twice from the second row in Imax 3D and I'd see it again. The Na'vi were beautiful creatures and I know they were computer graphics but they were so totally real looking. And they accessorize really well.

When this movie bagan...my first thought was how the white man treated and conquered the American Indian civilization. We constantly seem to want to conquer, take the wealth and distroy the conquered inhabitants. However, as the movie progressed, I found myself remembering my own belief of Nature and how I also believe we are all, energized by the surroundings of Nature and it's inhabitants. I feel, if you are even a little spiritual this movie helps your mind, heart and soul to renew your views. It's breathtakingly beautiful, cruel, loving, spiritual, heart warming. "I LOVED IT!!!"

For someone who really dislikes animation, this film was actually tolerable. I managed to make it through the almost 3 hr long film without falling asleep and/or leaving the theater.

Although the CGI world of Pandora was a wonder to behold, the story left a lot to be desired. There was little to no characterization. The dialogue was poor and often over the top. The whole second act just felt like a montage with very little in the way of character motivation. All of this was complemented with a heavy handed message that lacked subtlety and true depth. It is nothing more than eye candy that you get sick of by the time the film has reached its climax.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Forget the totally formulaic plot and the slightly preachy metaphors, this film is a visual feast. Not since the original release of Star Wars has a movie made me say "Wow" like this. You almost step into the world of Pandora. I felt vertigo at points. The imagery seemed alive, and not in the hokey way of earlier 3Ds that relied on images shooting forward to shock the audience. This was more subtle, as sparks and ash seemed to float through the cinema, as the landscapes had depth and the floating mountains, huge and monolithic, seemed suspended above us. There were points at which the 3D/CGI seemed just a hint awkward, but this is so far above and beyond anything produced to date. A don't miss in IMAX 3D for the film tech buff.

What an incredible visual spectacle. I don't want to try to intentionally build up a movie to unrealistic expectations, but this was different than anything I've ever seen before. The CGI work was fantastic, the underlying message of conservation and tolerance is not only important but timely as well. Stephen Lang as Colonel Quaritch is particularly strong he is a great actor who was equally strong in Public enemies. I give it a very strong recommend for effects alone.

I am sure you have had your share of CG (computer generated) movies, with loads of special effects, and nothing to show for plot or acting. Well, with the introduction of Cameron's new technology and techniques, finally, I have had the pleasure to see great acting with amazing special effects, great editing, superb harmony of plot and action all blended into one. I never thought I could sit through a close to 3 hour movie, and wow, can I just say, this was by far, THE BEST movie I have ever seen in my life.

Seriously, one of the greatest movies that I have ever seen in my short life....I walked out of the theatre into the winter air and thought, "Where did all the colors go?!?!?!" If you haven't seen it yet then you must. I saw it once in regular 3D and then this time in Imax 3D, both were incredible but Imax beat regular 3D hands down a hundred times over. A definite must see!

I haven't seen a 3D movie in years and the technology has sure come a long ways. I was grinning ear to ear the entire movie in amazement. The storyline is nothing original, but the graphics definitely make up for that. I really enjoyed the experience!

Some movies hit the box office and you wonder if its worth the IMAX experience. I even wondered the same about Avatar until I saw it in a regular theater (3D edition). I was determined then to see it in the IMAX and was not dissapointed! The 3D is not overdone to insane degrees, the story line kept my attention, all in all, this movie is the perfect IMAX movie - so don't wonder about this one!

3D IMax made this movie a must see! Enjoyable movie for any adult and the 3D experience is fascinating and kept my attention the whole time. I have not seen a 3D movie since Epcot years ago! Plot line is interesting but without the 3D - I would not have rated it so high, as I would have gotten a bit bored. 3D makes you feel as if you are in the same place and room as the movie characters. Very fun!

Spectacular! I grew up reading sci-fi novels hoping one day they could bring them to the screen and due them justice. They just did. For all the sci-fi nerds out there, our day has come. There are thousands of excellent sci-fi stories that few know about. My hope is that Cameron picks out some award winners and puts them into this new revolutionary media. BTW, if you did not see it in 3-D IMAX, go back and see it again.

Although the film was 2hrs 40mins. long, it felt like it was an hour. You are drawn into the story then there are the amazing visuals.James Cameron really knows what's happening and is one of the top directors. The 3D is not over powering and is so cool.

I came into the movie having no idea of what it was about. I was captivated from the beginning and throughout the whole movie. I couldn't believe how creative they were with everything..the special effects were so realistic! I would recommend watching it on IMAX.
