This has got to be the BEST movie I have seen in a number of years!!! The FX were far superior and seamless; the story line was actually interesting; the characters believable and captivating......I can't wait to own it!!!

Loved this movie. It's hard to describe to others who haven't seen it yet as to what exactly to say...the special effects are indescribably beautiful and I would even go so far as to say the movie is true art. The sweet love story that goes with it was so nice - I haven't seen this sweet, simple love story in a very long time. No "intimate" scenes, just purity that your kids could go see. My husband enjoyed it too with a the touch of "Rambo" in the mix. I would definitely go see a sequel, and hope that the creators take their time and not rush it so that it will be as beautiful as this one was.

This movie was marvelous at all levels. The animation, scenery and social comment were all amazing.
Unfortunately, most people will enjoy it for the action and will completely miss the social commentary. James Cameron did a wonderful job of trying to show the world to allow people to live as they wish in their own land. Unfortunately too many people want to govern what other do.
Get ready for an exciting adventure!

this movie was so cool that I may not be able to watch a regular movie in a theater ever again. The most beautiful colors and the 3 D stuff was wild. I swear a couple of times I checked myself to see if I had been shot with an arrow. It was the first I-MAX production I have ever seen and I sure picked a great one. It was also a very fast 2 hour and 40 minute movie. Can you imagine the last scene in the movie "Unforgiven" if this technology was used ? I can't wait for Avatar 2.

Avatar is an awesome movie. The director and creator of Avatar made the Avatars a real people. I was able to identify with that race of people to feel their pain and sorrow.
The forest and the animals indigenous to their land was very well created and real.
Because of my bad eye site I feared the 3D would be too much -- not!

Avatar was such an action packed, visually stimulating movie that it just seemed to fly by. It's got everything, clearly outstanding special effects, a struggle between the locals and the aliens, a love story, some great battle scenes. I saw it in IMAX 3D but I would think any 3D version would be outstanding. Don't miss this on the big screen at the very least.

If you are going to see this movie, you need to see in in 3D because the graphics are amazing. The IMAX experience makes it even better. A few parts in particular i thought were a little weird, but then again, i am not much into the fantasy genre. I also didn't think the story was very original, as it closely resembled the story of Pocahontas. However, because the graphics are so good, and the movie keeps you hanging the entire 160 minutes, its a must -see.

OMG!!! The entire human race should see this movie. What a important story, told in the most entertaining way possible. I saw it in IMAX 3-D, and although it would be great on a regular screen, I would definitely recommend the former!

Really really enjoyed everything about the movie - obviously the 3D IMAX made it amazing, but the concepts, 'cinematography,' pace, length, humor, cast, were all amazing... I don't know how I can ever spend $14 on a movie again, unless it is this good! I'm ruined for life.

This movie, especially in IMAX 3D was amazing. I really didn't think I WANTED to see this movie when I saw the previews...but wanted to take my husband for his birthday. I was shocked! I ended up LOVING it!! If you like romance subtly mixed into a great drama/action movie, you will love this movie too!

I saw Avatar in 2D and it was awesome! So, i decided to go to Cinema De Lux in White Plains, NY to watch it in IMAX 3D. Unfortunately, when I got there, they told me that the IMAX projector is not working. Overall I am very very very upset and disappointed. I sincerely believe that Avatar would be awesome on IMAX but it's really disappointing for me that I wasn't able to watch it.

Saw it in Imax great sound effects and strong action. Couldn't picture seeing it anyway else. Just a bit busy the last 30 minutes so you couldn't enjoy all of the graphics. All in all well worth the time and money.

Perhaps the most visually amazing film ever made. It does for current cinema what 2001 did in the late 60's. James Cameron is a creative genius. The story, on the other hand, has been told dozens of other times. The plot is completely predictable and cliched. Excellent perfomances all around. Overall well worth the price of admission. Glad I saw it in IMAX 3D!

I am not a avid movie goer and pretty much wrote off big budget Hollywood movies as not worth my hard earned $$ and these days movies are a intellectual black hole..................
It was thought provoking and aside from 3D and the IMAX experience It was a legitimate
good movie and story line ...

And the three of us went to see it again in IMAX 3D and Loved it even more!!!!

Yep, the 3D IMAX made the viewing of this movie a second time unbelievable, Love it. Took someone frome Holland and they thought it was a "perfect" movie. It's got it all and with unimaginable detail. Very believable.

I pretty much expected a "Titanic II" experience when seeing Avatar (corny movie + most cutting edge special effects of the time), and it certainly delivered. However, obtuse ecological platitudes and silly inter-racial love story aside, Avatar is actually worth checking out for the special effects alone (as opposed to Titanic, which sucked all around), but you must see it in IMAX. Cameron has definitely pushed the medium a long way since Titanic. In summary: Titanic + Dances With Wolves + The Emerald Forest + the best special effects ever = Avatar.

Avatar is a visual masterpiece! My kids and I went to see it on IMAX 3D...the best way to see this movie. You really did not want the movie to end. Will be seeing it again!
