One of the best of all time. The IMAX 3 D is the way to see it. Saw it in regular 3D and IMAX both- go IMAX. Something for everyone- science fiction, nature, love story, action, you name it.

Okay, this plot has been done before, but that did not stop this film from blowing my doors off!
I don't know how this will translate to 2D viewing, but well worth the ticket price for the IMAX 3D. I am going back with the kids.

This is the modern generations' Star Wars (1977)...or if you want to go "way back"...this movie will have the same effect The Wizard of Oz had when "color film" first entered movie theaters! It's going to redefine how we perceive technology and movie making, and movie watching. This movie has started a new genre. Period.

I watch more than 50 movies each year at the theaters and this was simply the best movie, barring a specific genre choice, that I have ever watched. I was surprised when it was over as I was basically in a trance for 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Myself and my wife enjoyed the movie but as expected in the 3D movies, people normally goes to see the special effects. But in this this movie i thought there will be lot of special effects. But as a whole the movie is good and the concept is also wonderful. The message which the writer/director wanted to pass is also really nice and clear. would love to watch the movie once again..

This movie is truly one that for years to come, all action movies will be compared against. The graphics and technology displayed throughout the movie are unparalleled. Must see in theaters...you'd never get the same experience at home. Not among the best movies ever, but definitely the technology is unmatched. The story line was pretty good too.

Terrific special effects. Wonderful story. PG 13 was okay rating, but I would have rated it for a older audience. Theater was FILLED with 18 and older! Recommend this movie for anyone who wants a SUPER ACTION PACKED 3D adventure. Saw it TWICE!!

There is no doubt that this is a giant leap forward in the history of movie-making. The movie definitely held my interest, but I would have appreciated some depth in the characters and a less predictable plot. Also, the transformer-like machines were over-the-top. I would recommend it to a friend, especially at the I-Max; however, I will not run out and buy it when it comes out on video.

Just be sure to get to the movie theater early to get the best seats preferably up higher than in the front rows! The movie was awesome no matter where - just more comfortable up higher.

I saw the movie in a 3-D IMAX theater and was blown away by the special effects, cinematography, and by the story itself. This movie had something for everyone --- action, romance, humor, suspense, and a beautiful message for us all. Because of its popularity, I ended up in the 3rd row, which usually would be terrible. But in this case, it was like I was actually IN the movie, being so close to that huge screen --- it felt like I was surrounded by it. The way that live action was mixed with computer generated images was amazing!!! I think that folks of all ages can find something to appreciate about this film --- even if you're not a big sci-fi fan. A must see film for the big screen!!! Don't miss it!!

The "3D" Special effects were fantastic. I found the special glasses very comfortable and the "3D" effects were done in a very realistic way and not over done as has been done in other 3D movies I have seen. The story itself was very engrossing and kept my interest through out the movie. Although the movie was long, it did not feel long and it ended almost too quickly for my taste. I look forward to getting my own "3D" copy when it comes out in BluRay.

I didn't know what to expect with Avatar but I was so glad I went to see this movie and that I saw it on the IMAX 3-D screen. The forest scenes were fabulous, colors so beautiful & a great lesson on our connection to the earth. The story was sweet as well and I would recommend everyone see this movie - all ages!

The story is predictable and obvious, of course, and it's irritating that James Cameron has to be so literal at times, mining the mineral "unobtainium" for instance. But, through the protagonist's Avatar, one is definitely taken into the story, and it is a compelling, although unoriginal, story. It also has a very paternalistic attitude, but what can you expect from a Westerner's point of view. It is an experience unlike any other moviegoing experience to-date, so it certainly is the "Star Wars" of this generation. In that respect, I will say, James Cameron has achieved his objective. But, do I think it's the best film I've ever seen? No. Worth the money to see it in IMAX 3D? Yes.
