Simply an outstanding movie experience. My first full length IMAX experience. It was truly more incredible than I had imagined. The movie had an ever twisting plot and was worth the time. My only criticism was the run-time length was a bit long.

I'm not going to list any spoilers so I'll keeop it short an sweet. The combination 3D and IMAX, plus the fact that the movie was designed with them in mind, made for the most intense and spectacular movie experience of my life. This one has Oscar written all over it. The story telling was also top notch. It introduced you to an amazing world, making you fall in love with the forest and its people just as the main character did. Then grips your heart and makes you wish you could fight alongside for the salvation of their culture. Truly EPIC!!!

This is science fiction. If you can accept the premise, the story line itself is quite believable.
The only way to see this movie is 3D IMAX. I was glued to my seat for 2 1/2 hours. Even dreamed about it all again that night. Wonderful special effects. Borrows religion quite freely, from American Indian, Africian, and just a touch of Voodoo.

The Imax 3D was great, It jumped off the screen into your lap. Colors were breathtaking. The most enjoyable movie I have seen in years. I left feeling I got my monies worth.

This movie is the start of a whole new movie making challenge to Hollywood and must be experienced in Imax 3D. what I loved about the 3d aspect, it was never abused by trowing things at you, instead it added depth to every scene. The story line was a little weak but Avatar is a must see.

The story is very much "Fern Gully" meets "A Man Called Horse".
Loved it. Will be buying on Blu-Ray when it's released. I've seen it twice now, and while AMC Woodlands' imax is NOT a real imax (the screen is just an enlarged standard screen), I would recommend this film to anyone.

James Cameron has created a world of such startling beauty it is difficult to concentrate on the plot. Although it may seem a simple story, there are several subplots that seem to preach to the audience, such as the parallel between Pandora and the Earth's rain forests. The question of cloning and what constitutes life are also touched upon. The primary goal of any movie is to entertain, which this movie delivers, however, there is so much more going on in this tale.

I loved this movie, and the trailers dont do it justice. At first I didn't think it would be that great, but after seeing this in IMAX 3-D, I fell in love. I wouldn't advise watching this movie in anything but 3-D. The visuals are so awesome. A must see movie.

I am not a sci-fi junkie so I was a little hesitant to see this movie. But I loved it! Special effects and how they merge the digitial with the real actors so flawlessly was amazing. With previous attempts, you can tell where the break is but with this movie you cannot tell. The story was OK but I didn't really go see it for that. It supported the action but wouldn't be the reason I would recommend anyone see it.

by far the best movie I have ever seen...its got it all; action for the guy's and some "love story" for the ladies. The CGI is amazing and the story line is very good. As far as "hidden messages", they are, or IMO should be, genuine concerns for us and how we act.
Its a rare story/movie that you find yourself thinking about days after you've seen it.

I followed the millions to the theater to watch the movie "event" of the century. To say I was shocked at how bad this movie was is an understatement. Sure the effects are cool and there's many explosions but for 2 hours and 40 minutes I felt like I was watching a computer game. To add to my dismay I'm a huge James Cameron fan and I wanted nothing more than to be blown away a per usual with his films. Sadly, it wasn't to be and I guess every legendary director strikes out sometime.

Seriously. I walked out of the movie and was so incredibly amazed that the only thing I could say was, "Wow." I think it took a good 15 minutes before I could begin talking about the movie. The imagery and the 3D effect both were impressive, but what impressed me the most was the story line. James Cameron did an amazing job creating a world that could put yourself into, characters that you could feel.

We want to be careful about saying for ever, because we don't know what this movie may now open up for all of us to enjoy. This was the best movie I have ever seen. The best 3D fantasy, the best CGI. This was an amazing movie. What an incredible world brought to life on the Hugh screen. The action was amazing. The story was believable, because similar events have happened in our history. I recommend everyone see it, and see the full version 3D, IMAX.

In 1977 I saw Star Wars when it opened and thought then that it would change the industry. Avatar is this in SPADES! The stunning photography and integration of special effects has set a gold standard for the rest of the industry to match. I have seen this movie twice in the first 10 days in both 3D and iMax; I expect to see it again in the coming weeks and anticipate the sequels. 5stars and more.

This movie was able to deliver on the high expectations that I had set for it. Seeing it in IMAX 3D was a treat for sure. Cameron has certainly set the bar to a new height. Eye candy galore!

I thought the movie was wonderful. The imagery and special effects were top notch. I really enjoyed the characters. It was nice to enjoy a movie that was satisfying. It didn't have a weird ending. The story line was not very deep but that sort of made the movie enjoyable. You could just watch, without having to look for deeper meaning. It was great for all ages. The emphasis on nature and the Avatar world was just like out of a dream that you didn't want to wake up from.
The movie was refreshing and so much fun!
