I was afraid all the hype was building me up for a disappointment but this was like something I have never seen before. A visual feast for my well traveled eyes. The color and imagery are extravagent and extraordinary. Warning: My companion and I were ill afterwards. We think it may have been motion sickness - although it did not affect us during the movie. Neither of us get motion sickness on boats, planes etc. We sat on an end so perhaps that had something to do with it. But if you normally take Dramamine I would take it. I had no problem with the heights or motion in the movie. Just strange we both felt ill afterwards. This is a MUST SEE event.

I love this movie. The special effects were gorgeous. It had something for everyone. A human and nature respect that is not often seen. Mankind's greed to have something that is not theirs and will stop at nothing to get it. Science breakthroughs as I've never seen before.

This movie was fantastic, simply amazing. I've seen it 3 times. The scenery is spectacular, plot/story line great, and the animation and 3d effects were fantastic. I could go on and on.
You can't help but feel that you're part of something "big" perhaps this generation's Star Wars?

I want to cry for the beauty that is this movie. While the plot/storyline is not purely original, the beauty of the movie is far worth any rehashing of a similar story. The Na'vi were breathtaking in their agility and passion. The love story brought tears to my eyes (no surprise there), and the passion driving the Na'vi race to fight for their planet is a strong reminder of what humans are NOT doing for their Mother Earth. Pandora is definitely a planet I wouldn't mind visiting!

"It's Magical." That's what Gene Shalit said about Avatar, and he's right. The story line was predictable but that is far outweighed by the stunning visual effects and sound. See it in IMAX 3D, well worth the extra money. I want to see it again. It's that good.

This movie even kept my wife in her seat entranced and entertained for the entire two hours and forty minutes. That is a major feat!
Also, the message in the story is important to mankind and the animation and visual effects were beautiful.

First of all, I highly recommend buying your tickets on line if possible. Going into the theater and into the movie was seamless. The movie was unbelievable!! Fantastic imagery! Some very predictable moments while others you just didn't see coming.

This movie is an experience like none other, especially in IMAX. The sound and the visuals are astounding. But the movie itself--the storyline--is excellent. At its heart it is a very moving love story (don't worry, the kids will never think so). It's also a classic good vs. evil hero epic too. I highly recommend it. This movie is probably worth several viewings, but you have to go for the full-immersion 3-D viewing.

If you are a visual person, Avatar 3D will definitely appeal to you. I saw this movie in IMAX and it was amazing. The story line was enjoyable as well. This movie had action and romance, so it was the perfect date night for my husband and I :-)

Visually this movie is amazing. The CGI is seamless. The story is nothing groundbreaking - I can't say I was ever anxious about the outcome. Still, worth seeing in IMAX 3D just because of the technology.

Certainly the best visual movie ever made. A bit of a repeat of Fern Gully for the story line but the 3D effects and the CGI make this a great experience and certainly worth the time and money! A must see!

This was the best movie I've seen since Jurassic Park, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but 10 times better. Absolutely spectacular in every way - flawless, beautiful, captivating, and the journey into James Cameron's universe is completely immersing. See it in IMAX 3D and the experience will leave you breathless! I've seen this movie 3 times already, and I plan on going back. 11 out of 10.

Visionary, peerless, ridiculously cool... I could go on. I saw it first in regular, then in Imax 3D and the law of diminishing returns still has not kicked in.
The cinematography and direction are beyond anything I could have ever imagined, and there is something new to see each additional time the movie is viewed.
I can honestly say that this movie seals James Cameron in my mind as the best director of all time and a truly ingenious screenwriter.
