There is no doubt, it is the movie of this decade.
It never let you go off the hook.
It is a complete movie, with anger, action, greed, betrayal, romance and idealistic values.
Avatar is Indian word meaning "incarnation" or new life. Very thoughtfully chosen name for the movie.
Great movie. I saw it with my son. My wife is away to India. One of the few movies where he would agree to come with me.
Would see it again in 3D with my wife when she returns. Finding right seats was trouble. Too many people watching this movie. Be at the theater well ahead of show time.
Awesome.

Avatar was truly an amazing experience. Whether you normally would rather not see a 'fantasy' film or you would - this film is for both.
It encompasses good/evil, romance, spirituality, nature, suspense - great twists and a great ride!
Of course in 3D IMAX it is even better.

This is by far the best 3D movie I've ever seen. It's the first time I've been to the Regency based IMAX, I've shied away in the past, thinking it could not be as good as the real IMAX down at World Golf. Well, it was. Absolutely amazing. A definite MUST SEE!!

Avatar was spectacular in its use of captured motion and 3D. The creatures of Pandora were fantastic as well as everything visual.
My only question is, why did the director feel it was necessary to have Segourney Weaver waving around a cigarette and having it hang from her lips through the first 30 minutes of the movie... it was awkward and she didn't need this to convey her character's personality.
Avatar will walk away with every special effects Academy Award! A MUST SEE movie!

I have never written a movie review in my entire life, but Avatar in IMAX 3D was unlike any movie I have ever seen in my entire life. It was an amazing experience. I was so drawn into the entire experience that I even forgot I was watching a movie. The concept and creation of this world and it's inhabitants were ingenious. The visuals were stunning; the action sequences breath-taking; the story line heart-felt. Now I only have to figure out how I can install an IMAX 3D projection system in my home so that I can watch this movie over and over again.

I was completely blown away by the STUNNING visual effects that stimulated your eyes as well as you imagination. The actors were fabulous - the best. The story line was both heart warming and heart wrenching and plays on several different levels that it keeps you thinking long after you leave the theater. The very best thing about this movie is that you become part of the movie and forget everything else for just a short while. And isn't that what a GREAT film should do? I cannot imagine the movie without 3D IMAX. AVATAR in 3D IMAX is a MUST SEE,

I saw it twice, once with my two grandsons in 3D then again with my husband in IMAX 3D. Both were awesome. If you go IMAX, arrive a minimum of 30 - 45 min early to get a good seat

I had my doubts about seeing a movie that was more than 2.5 hours long. Seems most movies always have some slow spots where you struggle to stay with the plot. This movie was over before I knew it. It held my interest throughout. It was truely fantastic. Great story line. Great acting. Great special effects. This movie needs to win lots of awards. Can't wait for the sequel. I'd recommend seeing it in IMAX 3D. It was stunning.

AVATAR was one of the best movies I have ever seen (I've seen thousands) and one of the greatest movie experiences I have ever had. the 3-D effect was magnified bythe amazing IMAX screen; I felt like I was inside the movie and experiencing the adventure with the characters. There were sequences that played like a roller coaster thrill ride because of the breath-taking camera work and seamless editing. I found myself clutching the seat and reacting to the action on screen several times. I highly recommend this movie and can't wait to see it again.

I loved this movie. I thought it was very well put together the storyline and plot flowed all the way through and it didn't rely on the Special Effects and the 3D to carry it. I can't imagine seeing it on any other screen then IMAX.

The plot was good and had many deeper themes, but a little predictable. The acting was really good and the acting was very believable. The setting for the story was amazing with all the detail and imagination that went it and the intergration of the CGI Na'vi and the human actors was absolutely seemless. The movie was very long, but never drug on. A definite must see in 3D to get all the details. There were no cheesy 3D effects, just the illustion that you were right in there with them.

This movie was extremely well done. The detail was phenomenal. Powerful and encapsulating. My 5, 7, and 11 year old kids did not make a peep or move throughout the entire 2.5 hours. The story was good, the glasses and seats were comfortable, and the 3D visuals were beautifully detailed even when right in your face. You want to grab the floating objects. By the end, I wanted the humans to lose. James Cameron created a beautiful world that anyone would want to live in.

To put things in perspective, this is a beautiful effects-driven film. The CGI is seamless and IMAX 3D... wow, just an incredible movie experience. This is the first film I've seen in a very, very long time that I wouldn't have preferred to watch at home.
However, I can't give it five stars for two reasons.
First, the plot is essentially the same as Dances With Wolves. There's nothing wrong with that, Dances With Wolves was also a great film, but Avatar doesn't add anything to the story.
Second, Hollywood has a tendency to be a little preachy at times, and Avatar is no exception. A beautiful film like this has no need to bludgeon you with a "message", and it was distracting.

The special effects in this were just stunning. The story was somewhat predictable though.
I have seen this movie 3 times and I usually go to the movies 2x a year. I can't recommend highly enough that you see this in 3D IMAX. It is the best visually dynamic movie I have seen in years. The new technology used to make the movie really gives this movie an edge.
I will end up seeing it again before I buy it on DVD. Just wish I could afford 3D IMAX at home when I own it.

The movie was alright. It would have been better if the seats I had reserved weren't taken...and if the handicapped seats were not being taken by non-handicapped people. I guess the movie would have been better if I had saw it somewhere else. The service at Cinema De Lux was terrible! What's the point of buying your tickets in advance on movietickets.com if the seats you reserve don't matter?

Coming from someone who has seen the 2D version and the IMAX 3D version. I can only say that the experience is taken to a completely new level in IMAX 3D.
Avatar in 3D is the most amazing movie experience. The world comes to life like never before and you feel as if you are actually there.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust to this new way of watching movies, but it's worth the experience.
The plot is great and builds the characters story very well. It's a love story, an adventure story, a heroic tale that is a pleasure from beginning to end.
YOU MUST SEE THIS IN IMAX 3D.

We went to see the movie in 3D IMAX. It was quite an experience. The visuals are stunning and the storyline was better developed than I had hoped for. My husband was the one who really wanted to see it but we both came away feeling awed by what we had seen. I hear there may be a sequel--I hope so. If you can't see it in IMAX 3D at least see it in 3D--don't wait for the home version.
