I thought that the movie was pretty good. It was REALLY graphic and had ALOT more killing then the first one which i liked cause the first one seemed to soft. but overall it was a pretty good movie. One thing that i didnt like was that the michael myers as a kid wasnt the same kid as the first movie. I also didnt like the ending, they could of made a WAY better ending and not with just her sitting in a white room and all of a sudden the mom comes back with a horse? yeah kinda lame. but other then those two things it was good. Alot of parts made me jump and thats what i like about scary movies. I give it 4 stars.

The 1st Zombie film had some really great char actors including the girl from Forrest Gump as Michael's older sister. The kid they cast as little Michael in the 1st one was also great- he was approp. creepy. I was a bit disapptd that they did not bring him back on this this one. I agree with the other posters that the ghost thing was a bad idea, and served to distract rather than forward the plot. It just seemed to purposed to give Mr. Zombie's wife more screen time. I also did not like the "angry" Michael- he didn't just kill his victims, he was determ. to destroy their mangled corpses. Bottom line, this movie was was a disappointment and Mr. Zombie could have done much better.

Not a remake by any sense of the word. Reimagined as someone else had stated, I'd go along with that. The only thing this movie took from the others were the names of the characters. What was with Dr. Loomis?? No way would the original turn into such a money grubbing parasite. The original Laurie was a goody goody and this Laurie was ?? I don't even know. The word of the day was F@#K!
I gave it 2 to 3 stars for the intense, brutal and horrific killing scenes. Lots of blood and sound effects. Not for the faint of heart or for the kiddies. Leave them at home. Found a few mistakes too, that makes it fun also.

For all the Halloween movie fans this will not be a sequel to watch! Over all the plot of this movie was completely off! Mother appearing before every killing and telling michael what to do was chessy! Not even throughout the whole movie they played any of the halloween themes not until the end of the movie which of course had a very sorry ending!! Yes it had some good jumpy, brutal bloody violence, but overall I will not waste my time in watching any other sequel in the further future unless directed by different director! Rob Zombie is awesome, but not for these classic Halloween sequels.

The best part about the movie was the scenery. RZ did very well with the theme of the actual holiday side of Halloween. The movie can not hold a candle to the original Halloween. I am not a fan of his Michael, he is too large and seems almost super human, for me the scary part of the original was the simplicity of Michael. It was far too brutal, and Michael made these dumb noises as he killed. here were a few nods to the original which I picked up on that others did not. I HATED THE GHOST AND THE WHITE HORSE, that theme was beyond stupid!

First of all the this movie did not live up to the first one. Second What was with the stupid hallucinations. This couldve been such a good movie but a lot of little things ruined it. Why they couldn't get the kid from the first movie was beyond me. I dont want to ruin the ending for anyone but its just plain rediculous. I mean I expected a better ending from Rob Zombie. There are alot of brutal kill scenes which is the only reason I even gave it 2 stars.

I saw this movie yesterday after getting off from work. I am a longtime fan of the Halloween franchise itself. This movie, I have to say, while not the best in the Halloween franchise, it certainly was better than the remake Rob Zombie had out in 2007. In this movie, Michael was more Brutal than he had ever been before. There were some forgettable characters, espescially outside the main core of Laurie, Michael, and Sheriff Brackett. But all in all this was good fun.
Positives: Michael more brutal than ever. A lot of the cinematography was excellent The first several minutes of the film at the hospital Some inventive kills
Negatives: Sheri Moon Zombie and the white horse Excessive swearing

This movie is in no way in the same league as the original. Rob Zombie took so much creative license that he should have not had it be associated with the franchise. He created unbelievable story plots(Michael kills as directed by his dead mom). Donald Pleasance is rolling over in his grave at how they changed his character from a respected doctor who wanted to understand Michael to a money hungry so called doctor who wanted money more than helping. And the time loop is ridiculously hard to understand. Does it take place in the 70s(corded phones, music on tv,) or current day(flat screens). This movie should not have been made. If Rob Zombie is the fan of the series as he says he would not want to bastardize it. And he did here.

The first Halloween movie re-make by Rob Zombie was realistic and raw. In fact it gave the audience a deeper perspective into the young, abused distrubed mind of Michael Myers. The home setting, parental neglect, school bullying and even Dr. Loomis' character we see really tried to help young Michael to no avail of course. Now, Halloween II (remake) was stylized Rob Zombie promoting his satanic beliefs which is his right but it took Michael's story into surrealism, which is maybe what Zombie was after but for me it did not work.

I unfortunately have to say that I wasn't too terribly impressed with this movie! Especially after the first remake Rob did was great. Violence was turned up to 11, but that was about it. The whole white horse concept was a bit overdrawn and just really brought the movie down a bit. There were a few interesting high points and was in general entertaining to watch. But don't expect to be chilled out of your seat.

this 2nd version of halloween sucks. the 1st remake, halloween, that rob zombie made, actually made sense and was better than the original. this second remake doesn't make sense, has pointless f words throught out, and is pretty boring and just unbelievable. i mean really, how many times do you need to hear some one say the F word before you sincerly belive that they are hurting or are angry. at the begining there is one guy that says the F word probably 13 times without the sence cutting to some thing else in between. i thought this was some kinda joke when i saw it. If you seen the first movie, don't ruin your impression of the remakes and just SKIP the second REmake.

First, Zombie's first re-make was brilliant. I loved everything about it.
Now, I'm all for taking an old movie in a new direction, but there are some things you don't mess with. What makes Michael so scary to me are 1) The Mask and 2) He's so quiet. I hated all the grunting! It made him too "normal/human" and totally UNscary. That's what really blew the movie for me.
The new boy lacked the sadistic look of the first boy.
There was WAY too much of the white horse. Alright, already!!
The end of the shack scene was STUPID.
The movie was ridiculously slow at times. I fell asleep about 3 times.
Sorry if this is too much detail but I was just THAT disappointed. This is a 'rainy day & your car's in the shop rental' movie.

I really liked it. This was not the best movie ever by any means but I feel it was very well made and definitely worth the ticket price. This movie is really fun. Very scary and even funny at times. Rob Zombie knows how to make horror artsy. Cool cast....actors I would like to see more of in the future. The white horse bit was the only part I think that made the movie drag on. But overall, awesome movie. Malcom McDowell nailed playing an ego-maniac....Brad Dourif was my favorite. Scout Compton has a really cool look about her. And the girl playing Harley in the tattoos was hot and entertaining.

Great movie! Loved how Zombie showed what was in not onlly Michael's mind, but Laurie's as well. Loved how he showed the new Laurie n Loomis. Loved he showed how twisted MM is, but too long of a focus on the gory..example, :"The Cow" A little too much focus on the white horse, but all in all, was very happy with the movie and his vision..Loved the twisted pumpkins! Great flick!

I liked Rob Zombies take on Halloween 2. He went away from the original franchize story, and did a great job! Awesome kill scenes, and dry humor which makes any movie go over the top.... Would definately recommend!

Overall, it was excellent! However, should have not been called a "remake", better word would have been "reimagining". A different title would have been better. Movie moved too fast to see graphic detail of victims. But sound was fantastic (bone crushing rage, etc.). The white horse visions were a little much but concept was inventive. Ending was not as expected & a little confusing as to what you were to believe was happening. Dont get me wrong, it was an excellent Zombie movie, just not what I was expecting & thats the reason for the 4 star rating. Go see this movie, just don't expect anything like the first, including the plot!

First of all..I LOVE ROB ZOMBIE!!! I love all of his movies...and I think the first Halloween that he did was a little better than the 2nd. The movie was def. gory which is GREAT but the filming style with the camera was almost like that of the Blair Witch Project....too shaky. I kind of wish he would have stuck a little more to the original storyline. I LOVE what he did with Lorie too! Ah-mazing! I thought he did too much of the "white horse visions" - could of cut some of that out to make the movie shorter. Over all, I loved the movie. Go see it! :)

Well, I'm not sure what happened to the plot of Halloween, but Rob Zombie did an excellent job of startling me with jarring noises that left me with an unpleasant headache. Also, it was so gory I couldn't enjoy it. Very unfortunate. However, if you are a gore/horror fan, good pick.
