This was a typical "Vince Vaughn" movie - with the usual smooth flowing sarcasm and quick wit of a very funny actor. The concept was cute, but a little predictable - every VV movie seems to have the same "theme and message" of doing the right thing. This movie had a good number of very funny scenes, but was certainly not the best VV movie that he has done. I was certainly looking for more quips and jabs from VV and the other stellar actors that were part of this cast. It was fun and entertaining, but it did not give me the Vince Vaughn "fix" that I was looking for that his other movies [Fred Claus, Dodgeball, Wedding Crashers] have provided in the past

Big Vince Vaughn Fan, I quote Swingers all the time, bumped into him once in Chicago, and I was very much looking forward to this movie. Then I saw it. Very disappointed. I understand that it's a Date Movie, but the jokes were right out of a lame sitcom laugh track. I did have some chuckles, but I seemed to be the only one in the theater laughing at those moments. I've seen more from these actors, and I wanted more. Now I'm going to go see that Zombie movie.

Vince Vaughn plays his usual sarcastic self in this movie, but if you like his most popular character, you'll like this movie. While it had a lot of laughs, I wouldn't say that I was rolling in the aisle, however we really enjoyed it. The ending is a little corny, and seems tied up quickly, but I would recommend it overall.

Given the cast, we had higher expectations. There were some funny moments, but overall the plot was REALLY contrived and the movie got to be tiresome after a while. I don't expect Vince Vaughn movies to be intellectually stimulating, but you could guess exactly what was going to happen within the first ten minutes. And we were hoping for something more hilarious from "Grampa Jim Jim!"

The bad far outweighs the good in this over-long movie. First the good: About 15 minutes total of Vince Vaughn riffs and 10 minutes of Favreau at his narcissistic best. The bad: That's just not enough to see this flick which is simply a manipulation of ridiculous events to string together some of these Vaughn / Favreau spasms of humor....and the humor is not always that funny. Skip this one - save some money - maybe rent it down the road for a buck or two.

not my favorite, and I'm pretty easy to please, but this comedy lacked the comedy. There were a few funny parts, but it just dragged on, found myself looking at my watch a lot, the people next to us got up and left, we stuck it out, again some funny parts, but this is one I would have liked to have waited for video, just wasn't that great, the funny parts were in the commercials.

Probably the lamest movie I have seen in a long time. While Vince Vaughn is always a good comedian, even he had trouble lifting this piece of junior high garbage out of the tropical water. The three directors' names were all unpronounceable: Indian or something of the sort--no names that anyone has ever heard of, and the three of them succeeded in making this season's most insipid comedy.

We felt a little like the trailer was misleading. The really funny parts were all in the trailer so once we actually saw the movie we quickly discovered it was just another Romantic Comedy that lacked as many laughs as we expected.

I agree that most of the funny scenes were in the previews. Except for the little boy. He definitely had the 'ah' factor. What a cutie. I'd like to see him featured in something. I've been single for a number of years and that movie made me want to stay single forever! OMG! Not a lot of substance to the movie, just kind of okay. the scenery was gorgeous. best parts of the film were those shown in the tv previews -- did not find most of the movie funny -- only redeeming virtue was that it was filmed in Bora Bora and the audience gets to experience that island's beauty --
