Though the movie was fiction, my husband and I enjoyed the movie and the thought-provoking aspects of the scenes, namely "what If that was true?"
There were times where, whether true or not with the Iraq war, the workings of the political machine as well as the way Americans are perceived by other cultures (because of how we do things) rang true to life.

I went to view an action thriller not a politically motivated rant on the Iraq war. It is a sad day when a director makes our US special forces heroes look like the bad guys and casts Saddam's #2 general as a good guy. My only hope is that Matt Damon accepted the role because it is a paycheck not because he bought in to this propaganda. Don't waste your time on this one, send a message to Hollywood!! My wife and I really enjoyed this movie. We had read some of the previous reviews before we went, so I was a bit concerned when I read that a few thought it was boring and didn't have the action that the "Bourne" movies have. We couldn't have disagreed more! The action was non stop and the story kept us on the edge of our seat (despite knowing the real-life outcome). Of course we all now know that there were never any WMD in Iraq and this movie points out what many already believe in that the Bush/Cheney regime sent us to war under false pretenses. The acting was great by all and I would definately recommend this movie. Enjoy!

'Green Zone' is one of the most intense two hours I've ever spent watching a movie. The plot, acting, and filming were all great. If you can remember that it is a fictional conspiracy theory story (although not totally unbelievable), and not let political beliefs get in the way, you will see a very good movie!

Personally i think the director and producer ran out of good ideas with the last Bourne. If only the real event happened like it did in Green Zone we would have gotten rid of bush a lot earlier. This was a fun political thriller that actually seemed authentic. This first comparison that comes to mind is Black Hawk Down. While that was more true to life the pace on Green Zone was a little better. Anyway, definitely a must see.

Not sure where this movie is coming from... Lots of motion filler. Lead character is not strong or really purposeful. Matt seems to be as confused and unfocused as the rest. I liked the direction the movie tried to take but it felt like an incomplete documentery made before its time, or to late. The reporter putting the story out never set the stage for the film. Her story should have been told. Then matts character driven to find wmd's why what bug got up his *@&% and made him want break from his orders. Was that based on a real soldier? Where is the glue binding the story together?

The line between fact and fiction becomes blurred in this engaging film that is chock full of dramatic punch and not-so-thinly-veiled politics. If you take the movie for what it is, FICTION, go with the flow and enjoy the action. Since many of the extras in this film are actual soldiers who saw combat action, each scene is intense and believable. Somewhat unbelievable is Damon's character, a maverick who is out to prove that WMD's never existed. Still, the movie is worth a look and the acting is quite good. I found myself totally engaged for two hours, even though my political beliefs are somewhat different that those advanced in the film.
