Small vinettes, not like Magnolia or Crash, but it does string together at times. Enjoyed the NYC themes and scenes. Some really funny, cute and sweet moments. I would recommend it to any New Yorker.

...I must say that it was an ok film, not great - my sequence (the Hasidic Jeweler) is one of the best. The film is missing Black, Latino and G a y sequences, the whole film is very dark. It was all filmed in Feb, March and April and shows NY to be very wet and blah. The editing leaves a LOT to be desired, very choppy. It is also out of sequence and sometimes hard to follow because the scenes are short and we don't get enough time to know who the characters are. The music is amazing and that makes a huge difference in watching the movie. Actually, it is the saving grace of the entire piece. The two most outstanding pieces are most definitely the Prom and the Older Couple. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Something that had plenty of potential wound up failing to engage my interest. The performances were pretty solid, and the stories were interwoven well. But, this film never managed to capture my interest.
Frankly, I was sitting there, bored, after 15 minutes. Throughout, I kept thinking, "should I leave?" (I never do, but the fact I think about it is a pretty bad sign.) I refrained from looking at my watch until it seemed like it should be about over; when I did, there was still a half hour to go. AUGH! Talk about time CREEPING... Don't waste your money on this one. Don't even waste your free tickets. Don't even bother renting a dvd, or watching it on cable.

This movie presents you with seamlessly intermingled slices of New York life. There are artists, high-priced hookers, cheats, thieves, immigrants, dancers, actors, teenagers, fakes and liars meeting each other, falling in love, and being miserable together. These stories are all very well laced and nicely presented. You'll enjoy several of them, if not all, and leave totally satisfied with the experience. I did.

Do screenplays really need to stick to a formula as illustated in Syd Field and Blake Snyder's books? This movie supports the argument that they do. It makes me happy to think that this movie was great fun to make. I was in great pain in the theater due to a leg condition which was distracting--being fair. I'll rent the DVD and watch the Andy Garcia and James Cann segments again & again...Ricci, Portman, Hawke...I'm waiting for "LA, I Love You." 4 Stars (but I missed the old formula).

From the premise, this film had a ton of potential - backdrop of NYC, the way people can meet randomly, the anti romantic comedy that can turn romantic. But that potential was lost, while there were a few winners in the batch (1-2), most of the short films were either dull or irrelevant. Save your money and rent Paris Je T'aime.
