"Despicable Me" was unexpectedly AWESOME! This movie not only entertains, but moves the heart as well! I didn't think I wpuld enjoy it as much as I did.
It's definately worthy of Hollywood. Some of the films I've seen lately didn't deserve the million dollar (+) budget.
"Despicable" is unpredictable...novel...creative! It's funny, heart warming, and full of adventure! And it's a perfect example that a hit movie need not be based on popular material (like a book, comic, or animated series).
Steve Carell delivers the goods with some of the most adorable characters that you will see on screen.
I really like the HUMANITY in this motion picture. The story isn't just black and white. Rather, the grey areas of life are explored and brought to light in a fascinating way.

I took my 6 year old. He didn't seem to laugh at the funny parts. I didn't either. It was a little boring. The only thing worth seeing, I thought, were the little minions and the youngest girl. She was cute and funny. I took my son during a matinee show so I didn't feel too bad spending too much on such an "alright" movie. I'd rather go see Karate Kid again!

I brought my kids opening day to see this movie. We hadn't heard anyhting about it yet - I was worried aout the "Evil Villain" thing for my younger ones - but it was reasonably explained and very family friendly. The whole orphanage children side was a little upsetting but turned out good in the end. Very funny and the kids have been saying their favorite quotes from the movie for days now! Loved and will buy the dvd once out.

I took 4 kids, ages 4-11, to see the movie. Not one of them were amused....neither was I. The movie was very dry & boring...caught myself falling asleep. The only upside...I only paid $12.50 for 5 tickets...so I didn't feel too ripped off!

We took our 2 children (5 and 7) to see "Despicable Me" and it was so funny that not only were our kids laughing hysterically through the whole movie, but my husband and I were as well! Kudos to Steve Carell for his hilarious voice characterization as Mr. Gru. While the Minions were definitely our kids' favorite characters, I have to say Gru was mine. The kids were begging us to buy it as we left the theatre, so you can bet it will be appearing on our DVD rack when it becomes available!!

Funny and refreshing movie that is a fit for all ages. My 6yr old son thought the movie was hilarious. The story line was a little choppy at the beginning but it grew into a well rounded story as the movie went on.

This was right up there with "UP;" the graphics were, of course, exemplary, but the story was equally amazing. It could have been the run-of-the-mill, classic good vs. evil, but this came with a twist: Evil vs. Evil with a lot of good thrown in. It was funny, well-written, superbly acted, thrilling, fast-paced, poignant and artful.
I recommend this to anyone from the age of 3 to 123.

I wanted to like this movie more than I actually did. It was a sweet story and has beautiful animation. Just not sure the plot line is all that riveting, especially for little ones. A parent in my row fell asleep half way through the movie. Liked "The Incredibles" much more.
We saw it in 2D, and my six-year-old is now begging me to see it again - in 3D. There are definitely sequences (roller coaster scene, bonus footage at the end, during the credits) that would be 100% better in 3D, so I'm somewhat inclined to indulge her, though I'll probably beg a grandparent to take her, because I'm not sure I can sit through it again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It is not often when I feel all of the money I spent on a movie and the concession costs was completely worth it. This movie was worth every penny. Everyone in the theater was laghing out loud from 3 years old to 70. Totally entertaining and well written. A must see for families.

Despicable Me was better than I though it would be based on previews and reviews. I really enjoyed this movie. It was funny and touching. And the Minions rule! My niece laughed throughout the whole movie and was jumping up and down and dancing for joy along with it. Really great movie. Go see it.
