I'm 47 - and still unapologetically a fan of animation. I wasn’t sure I’d really be in to this one from the previews, but I actually found it to be a very sweet natured movie that had myself and my husband laughing out loud.
Not to mention, a few *wonderful* catch phrases I can’t wait to find marketed as personal ringtones, so I can download them and assign them to certain work contacts in my phone’s address book.
I’m not saying this movie will make my lifetime “Top Five Favorite Flicks” list, but I found it to be a quite pleasant diversion for a few hours out of a tough week, that left me smiling.

My 11 year old wanted to see the movie. From the previews I thought it would be just a boring kids movie. I actually loved it..i'm 30ish lol. I think I laughed as much as the kids did. It was also heart warming. I think its a must see. I can't wait until it comes to DVD because its worth having in your movie collection.

I had no idea I would love this movie. I was hoping my sister would take my son to see this movie but I was literally dragged to see it. I LOVED it!!! It was funny, touching and had a great message. The minions are hilarious even though NBC is making them annoying! Not quite Toy Story 3 but close...I did get tears in my eyes at the ending. Gru is GREAT!!!!

I thought the film dragged a bit int he beginning and was kind of all over the place - trying to show the main villain's world and background but once the three oprhans showed up at his door - boom - the movie found it's groove and took off. Well made, very funny and quite touching. It's all about how important it is to feel loved and have others love you. My 10 year old LOVED it.

Originally, I had not intended to see Despicable Me, because I figured it was just another animated movie I could wait to rent on DVD. But, my best friend asked me to go (she wanted to see the Minions) so I did. And I'm glad. It was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be and after seeing it, I wanted a Minion for myself (preferably one of the short and fat ones). I found it interesting that everyone else (excluding the little girls) were more of a villain than Gru was. It had also had a very sweet ending. I enjoyed it very much.

I took my grand-kids to see this movie. Why? Because they wanted to see it.....again. Twice. They sat there and followed the plot without a fidge or a fight. I thought the plot was a bit simplistic and a bit unbelievable and that's what makes it a kids movie. They love fantasy. I liked the plot because it gave good direction. That is, it showed a bad guy becoming a good guy because of his love of the kids he adopted. That's a great theme for the younger crowd. It's better than those shoot-em-up themes.

I went to this movie because my daughter wanted to go. From the beginning she was laughing and she had a great time. There were times in the movie where it was sad but it made up for it in the funny things the characters did. Even the end credits had people stopping to watch what the minions would do next. Besides, I love Steve Carell. he is a great actor!

I had high hopes based on what I had heard from friends......the movie failed to meet them. It was a slow start, even my 11yr old son was fidgeting...and for the first time since I can remember, I actually didn't mind getting up to leave the movie theater to take my daughter to the bathroom!
It picked up toward the end, but even my kids said they thought it would be better. The minions were probably the best part.

This movie is completely unpredictable because even though the plot is obvious the actions and reactions keep you guessing. Easily the most entertaining of the 3D animation movies and well voiced by Carell. Adults and children will be amazed.

I usually can tell by a promo how much a movie will suck. I knew this was going to be good after seeing trailers for 2months. But I had no idea it would be so superb. Adults will love it, and so will kids.

This was a terrific movie! At times hilarious, sweet, nutty -- be warned: you'll laugh until your sides split! Very cleverly written comedy appropriate for all ages and all ages will LOVE it!!! Steve Carell is brilliantly cast as the "villianous hero". The animation is so well done, you forget you're watching a "cartoon". The characters are well-developed. Some of the story is predictable, but there's always something thrown in (a joke or clever bit) to make it fresh. We loved the minions, too!

I have not had much enjoyment watching an animated movie. I thought Toy Story 3 was funny, this was FUNNY! I love it! I will definitely watch this again.
