I can't think of any moments of this film that will stick with me for very long. It was entertaining enough, and visually well rendered. I had the sense that the story could have used another run through the typewriter. There were many bits that were underdeveloped, and as a result, the script depends on a number of cliches and jokes I have seen before.
That said, it was an OK film. Nothing objectionable. I would suggest those who are interested in this film wait for the DVD release. If you are at all suffering from 3D fatigue, there is nothing in this film that is greatly improved in the extra dimension.

This movie really get to your heart. Its a tale of a man who is not like by anyone or anything. He portrays a nice guy sometimes. But he is just out to be a supervillian. Then 3 little adorable girls come and melt his cold heart. Sort of like a summer version of the grinch x3. Great story ! My son love it especially the "its soooo fluffy!!" Part. Lol and the evil minions are a laugh a min.

When my 11 and 12 year old were begging to see this movie, I knew we would go butnot sure how much I would actually enjoy it. We love animated movies however the previews were not indicative as to the actual plot.
What a nice surprise - we loved it! Even grandpa who was with us thought it was cute.

Starts out a little dark! Gru is definitly the evil villain and at first you wonder if your children are being exposed to "mean" in a scary way. However, once the character of Gru is developed and the story begins, the movie takes off!!! My friend and I had 11 yr olds with us and they laughed and laughed! There is, of course, a short visit to the potty humor place-but it's brief and doesn't take away from the story the way it sometimes can. You really feel for these girls and even for Gru as they grow in the story-animated films don't usually tug so hard at the heart strings, but this one does and it's refreshing to have a real storyline and animated characters that have more than one dimension to them. The minions do not dominate the story, but they are SO incredibly funny! We did not see the 3D version but after the movie we see that the 3D version will have plenty to offer. I usually do not see movies more than once in a theatre, but I think this one will be the exception - the atmosphere in the theatre with all of the laughing and giggling make the experience worth going for again and this time I think we'll do 3D! Go see it- your theatre dollars will be very well spent!

Smart, witty and fun for entire family. Lots of non-stop action, but also a lot of "heart" too from Gru's childhood dream to orphan's finding a Dad. I am truly a kid at heart and I think that this movie satisfied both my craving for something that tugs the heart strings and something that will tickle that funny bone. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone. Cartoon movies are not just for kids anymore.

I took my kids to see it yesterday. My 8 year old thought it was good and liked quoting lines from it for the rest of the evening. My 3 year old liked the bad guy aspects of it and actually was hoping Vector would win. My husband and I both like it and thought it had funny points for grown ups. Well worth seeing. Wife, kids and I all enjoyed ourselves; my wife even stayed awake, which is only a 50-50 shot these days. It was a little formulamatic, along the lines of any number of Disney/Pixar films, but it's a pretty good formula, and well done.

Despicable Me is charming, amusing, and delightfully touching. I'm definitely glad I went to see it and would recommend it to all viewers. It is a genuinely good movie.

My husband and I took our daughters to see this movie. It was really an unexpected delight. I was afraid they had shown all the funny parts in the previews, but the movie is so much more. Such a great storyline. Definitely great for all ages. My daughters are 5 and 3, but my husband and I enjoyed it as well.
