Bypassed by Hollywood, this film is excellent, appealing to multiple audiences. The story lines are bold and intriguing; the acting, exceptional. Kudos to the Bratts and their collaborators for finding a way to bring this film to a national/worldwide stage. With all the computer-generated action films in the marketplace, it's a breath of fresh air for movie goers to have another choice -- a wonderful drama with characters you care about and messages for all to embrace. Thank you, Mr. Bratt, for your presence and insight after the showing in Chicago. It was one of the best events of the summer!

This was a really great movie to watch because of all the themes it throws at you to think about, the colorful images, the language and the spectacular performance by not only Benjamin Bratt, who is already a well-known actor, but by the kids who, according to Bratt, were just picked off the street in the Mission district of San Francisco. As Bratt explained after the film screening in Chicago (where I saw it) this is not a "coming out" movie about homosexuality. This is a a coming of age movie about a man, a father, a human being with his own dreams and struggles. I loved it.

Unbelievable film. Mr. Bratt was at his BEST. Story line was great. It is sad to see that in a time that we live, the Latino community still has struggles with homosexuality. Love the way they also threw in interracial relationships into the the story, because nowadays that too is a topic that is nationwide. Us as Latinos, I believe, are afraid of the changes happening, however, we should embrace the changes and seek out to our children and not make it harder then it already is for them. If I was in the Oscar committee, I would STRONGLY recommend this film and take a close look at Mr. Benjamin Bratt!!!!!

This was a powerfull movie it brought tears to my eyes. I can related to Che about having a gay child his expression was my expression when I found out my child was gay, I do not know how he over came this but I give him alot of credit for doing so, I enjoyed seeing all the low riders cars and the colorful barrio. I would see this movie again in a heart beat. I will make sure I tell all my friends and family to see this movie. I sure wish there were more lation movies out there you know there are alot of us out there that are legal HELLO PEOPLE we are not all illegal....

It was good to see a film about how we as Latinos deal with the fact that our sons and daughters are also homosexual. It touched me and brought back memories of our families dealing with a siblings "coming out". There were so many aspects of our lives that were shown: religious belief, love, violence, and family that I really appreciated. If you get the opportunity, please check it out.

"Great movie, a roller coaster of emotions, funny to serious, several topics that invoke the need for further thought and discussion. A sequel should be done to explore the continuation of the relationship between father and son and acceptance of love. The writing left the viewer to their imagination, which made people want to discuss what they thought, GREAT show!"

Ben of course can act so I wasn't expecting him not to come through but , topic was very out dated . Contraversial would have been Ben dating the Black women and really really really bad editing . Needed more research about the MIssion. Dissapointed. The sound track was horrible a lot of make over rather than original . I was born and raised in the MIssion and what can I say . The cars were beautiful !!!!!! The Theater release was a joke . York Theater would have been a better choice and are some of the profits going back to communities ???? I would frankly be ashamed to recommend the move. It sucked !!!!!!
