"Brooklyn's Finest" centers around the everyday trials and tribulations of three Brooklyn police officers. One officer is seven days away from retirement, another is an undercover officer trying to flush out some serious drug traffic and trade, so he can make detective first grade and the other officer who is a family man with 4 children who finds himself desparately needing to make more money to buy a larger home, because his wife is pregnant with twins. The story unfolds from there...Lots of police type action, very bloody, violent, dark and often times very realistic looking. There is an extremely large amount of sexual content and nudity.

As much as I would have loved to give this movie a great review because I like Antoine Fuqua and most of the actors in the film, I have to say this movie was pretty bad! Snipes is back! He adds credibility and intensity to this movie about desperate cops and the crazy streets they work. I especially enjoyed the tricky no-win relationship between Cheadle and Snipes' characters. Ethan Hawke was also quite good and his story made you think about the inner conflicts cops encounter whenever they touch a bunch of money. This movie follows several different characters through their personal lives and their experiences and climaxes in an explosive ending that's not to be missed.

We’ve seen police catering to their own inner demons in dozens of previous pictures. If you’re going to revisit formula, you better have a spectacular story to tell or a great set of compelling characters to occupy it. This film has neither - just some inherent electricity and a decent job at blowing bullet holes through people. There is a lot of violence, but it doesn’t have the presumed impact the film anticipates. Like everything else here, it feels forced and way too familiar, the novelty of such nastiness for me having worn off long ago. Even the ending, which tries to surprise us by tying three stories together in one sickening display of human misery after another, fails to engage or truly entertain. All 4 stars are miscast.

Although this was not just another mindless blood-letting film, it still lacked the punch needed to take it to the next level. Motivation and characterization were adequate. Hawke's character was by-far the most developed; Gere's was the least. This is a very gritty movie with graphic violence and sexual content. Like many have said, the ending was disappointing and predictable, and it did drag at times. Not recommended for those who cannot handle bloody violence.

It was just ok. Ethan Hawke was great in it I thought. Couldnt believe Richard Gear was the only one left alive and it was a real disappointing ending. Some people actually walked out of the movie. Knowing that the producers wrote Training Day which was excellent, I thought I would walk away feeling the same; but, I was quite disappointed. Meaning, the movie was slow to reach it's story line. I'm really disappointed in this movie. A lot of great stars. However, I think the storyline was mishandled from beginning to end. This was over a 2 hour movie and the producer/directors could not pull the plots (incomplete) together in this timeframe. It seems the more great stars the worst the movie becomes.

Although slow moving at times, over all this was a wonderful movie. It was like a "Training Day" and "Crash" all rolled into one. I loved it!!

Saw this last night (at a special showing).... It was good. Intense. The last few seconds of the movie were a bit of a let down.... maybe they could have delayed releasing this to make inprovements.... but the rest of the movie, leading up to these few seconds that might let you down, was really good.
