When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I was so psyched to see it. After seeing this movie now, I was really disappointed. This movie reminded me of 'Crash', but not nearly as good. I thought with the star power in this movie, it would rock! Boy was I disappointed. I would not recommend seeing this movie at full ticket price. This is an afternoon flick at best. If you can wait for it to come on on DVD, then do that.

Never been so built up for a quality flick to be let down so hard. With the depth of cast & past directorial efforts involved, I expected a great film... instead I got the biggest waste of theatre money I have spent in a decade. Hard to believe you can create a cop movie starring Gere, Cheadle, Hawk & Snipes ....and end up with something much less than the sum of it's parts .....yet it happens here! There are moments & scenes that are really good but they are "sailing" in an ocean of mediocrity and the ship begins to sink under the weight of stereotype, weakly developed motivations, strained dialogue & an overly heavy directorial hand. It is more boring and incredulous in this film when the characters threaten violence and use intense language (way too much "F" word here)...than believable and ominous. A clumsy attempt to re-create "Crash" as a gritty, urban cop drama. Skip or rent.

The acting, directing, cinematography, and action/suspense in this movie were outstanding. The story for each character was well developed, except I would have liked more background on the relationship between Caz (Snipes) and Tango (Cheadle). However, I think the final chapter of the movie could have been brought together a little better. Without spoiling, I will just say that the climax seemed thrown together and really did not connect everything as I thought it should. Instead of a "cause-and-effect" ending, it was more of a happenstance climax... Other than this, I highly enjoyed the movie and will definitely purchase the B-DVD once available.

I loved seeing all 4 of these guys in a movie together & while the action was definitely intense, some of the scenes were a bit whack/unrealistic/predictable. The ending was definitely a surprise. I wish they had focused more on Don's character while he was in jail more than the sex scenes, but oh well.

The novie was very intense on the edge of your seat drama. I thought for a 2 hr movie they developed the characters enough for people to understand where they were coming from and what their points of view was. Intense movie, but unfortunately we had our teenage kids with. The near x-rated sex scenes and real-life blood and gore were quite overwhelming or the teens, and even a little too much for us adults. Probably the reason it was disturbing for us, is because it was difficult to process how some people live day-to-day in circumstances like those shown in the movie.
A great movie, but you have to be ready for the intensity!

It is obvious that the Director of this movie has the agenda of portraying all cops as lunatic bad guys. This director is out of touch with the fact that Brooklyn is not such a scary place. The director also seems to glorify black drug dealers and take a pro black stance at the same time. I'm not naive, I expected bloody violence, foul language and blatant sexual content, but with a strong cast I also expected to be emotionally involved and thoroughly interested in the interwoven stories and the outcome. I really enjoy reading bad reviews for a movie, and then I go see it and really like it. That's what happened with Brooklyn's Finest. My wife and I went to see it with no special expectations and walked out very pleased. Antoine Fuqua knows his stuff. It doesn't put cops in the best light, including the internal affairs side of things, but the ending does and shows that there are actually cops out there that do good.

Not as good as Training Day. With some fine and capable actors this movie was just weak at best. I was disappointed!

I read somewhere that this movie it was the Wire mixed together with Training Day. I will add that it is mix of New Jack City grown up too. Almost the entire cast of The Wire was in the movie. I liked it. It was classic Antoine Fuqua which means the ending sucked but it kept you engaged. It was worth the admission price and I am not kicking myself for paying almost $30 to see a movie. Matinee next time though.

This was very disappointing! When I saw the previews I didn't think it would be a great movie, but decided to go and view it anyway. The movie was all over the place. It was 3 different stories that didn't make any sense. It was like Training day without the excitement, like the Wire and Sugar Hill combined without the thrill, and of course Richard Gere in his same ole "save the woman" role. I feel asleep throughout the entire movie!
