Great Movie - my 13 year old granddaughter was thrilled! The movie followed the book closely, which was a bonas, as so many movies taken from books get changed a great deal with disappointing results.
Belle wasn't so wooden in this one either!
Love the wolves.
Can't wait for Eclipse.

If you are a fan of the book, you will love this movie! It was much better than the first Twilight and really shows the true love between Edward and Bella and the friendship between Jacob and Bella.

This movie was better than the first. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner really grew as actors. I wish I could say the same for Kristen Stewart. The special effects were a hundred times better in this movie... kudos to director Chris Weitz. If your a fan of the books you will still be a bit disappointed about some of the things that were left out.

I was at the midnight showing with my 10 yr old son. We had a great time. The movie was really good, but the book as sooo much more detail than the movie.
I cant wait to watch this movie again. Than I will be patiently waiting for Eclipse this June :)

This movie certainly followed along with first movie of the Twilight saga.... It amazed me at the variety of ages that it attracted... I saw children that weren't quite "tweenagers" all the way through to grandparents, which my daughter thought was hilarious. At first I wasn't happy with the ending, but at second thought it left you wanting more which was exactly what it was meant to do!!! Can't wait for Eclipse in the summer!

Stayed truer to the book than the first. The tension between Edward and Jacob was great to see on the screen. Also applaud the film makers, I have no problems taking my 11 year old daughter to see this when I go see it again.

I'm amazed at the reviews saying the acting was wooden or non-existent. I thought the subtleties in Kristen Stewart's performance were wonderful, she displayed elation after jumping off the cliff, and horrendous fear at the approaching wave, and loved the nuances in her face and voice throughout. Taylor Lautner was sexy, charming, loving and powerful, - potential superstar here.
I thought Robert Pattinson was at his best in the action scenes. Loved Ashley Green, who conveyed the perfect Alice, dancing and graceful even when still. I can recommend it to those who haven't read the books and I'm looking forward to more screen time for the actors playing the other Cullens.

Obviously a "bridge" movie between Parts 1 and 3, New Moon meanders along at a glacial pace, livened only by scenes of buff shirtless guys. (Not sure why werewolves go shirtless but not pantless.) The best thing in this movie is Dakota Fanning, but she's only in a few scenes toward the end. Edward is as gorgeous as ever and Bella is not nearly as annoying as she was in Twilight. If they get better with every go-round, maybe the next movie will actually have some heat and a decent plot.

I have been very anxious to see New Moon, but at the same time, fearful that it wouldn't meet my expectations (Twilight was a bit of a disappointment). However, I was very pleasantly surprised at how closely the movie followed the book, and particularly impressed with Chris Weitz's work on the post-production CGI. The final result on the wolves was impressive, and the skin sparkles were SO much better, and I felt the fight sequences were exciting and believable. The soundtrack is amazing too. All the camera spinning was awful - viewing from the lower rows made me absolutely nauseous. Kudos to Melissa Rosenberg for such a creative depiction of this book!!!! Definitely a MUST SEE! (Again and again)! Can't wait for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn!!!

I waited impatiently and I was not disappointed. I love the characters and the actors. I met a few at Twicon and it made me love the movie more. But having read the entire series of books, I couldn't help but think of what was missing from the story. I know they had to limit the length of the movie so I understand. I was not, however, impressed with the soundtrack.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, for one because it corresponded with the novel much closer than the first film. Secondly, the actors in the movie seemed to have taken some tips from the new director, and it flowed much smoother than the first one. Also, I love how you could really feel Bella and Edward's love jumping off the screen :) I would highly reccomend this movie to any fan of the books or previous movie, or any vampire fan!!

These people should be fired: Rob & Kristen (no chemistry & passion - go back to Acting 101), screenplay writer (coherence of the scenes & movie story line were very much non-existent), thus failing to make smooth transitions from one scene to another. don't tweak the book's details if you're just going to butcher the story. Above everything else though, the casting for Edward & Bella was really the movie's downfall. The director, & the rest of the actors, which i thought did a good job, didn't have much to work with: horrible screenplay writing & the foundation of the story, which are the characters of Edward & Bella, failed to embrace & deliver the truest essence of the movie: passion. that's strike 2!!!

I loved New Moon!!! I can tell they had a bigger budget on this film. Twilight had such a "B" movie appearance with the ?blue filter? I thought the makeup, the contacts, the wardrobe, the hair and the "sparkles" all looked sooooo much improved from Twilight. I loved the cgi with the wolves. New Moon is actually the third favorite story in the saga for me but I absolutely loved Chris Weitz's work here. This film did not come off as corny like Twilight did.

New Moon had much better special effects and looked cleaner. Jacob (Taylor) did a great job. But, I found myself missing the cheese-factor from the 1st movie as well as the strong musical score. Those who haven't read the book I think will be a little lost. We needed Bella's internal dialogue to help it all make sense. Loved the comic touches by Charlie and Harry Clearwater characters. Overall very satisfying.
