Of course reading the books helps, but honestly, this movie was fantastic on it's own. Special Effects, great - Acting, really good - Cinematography, fantastic - Costumes (or lack there of), wonderful - I could go on, but I fear I'll bore the lot of you! It's a great flick, fun in a great many ways.

This Twilight sequel was definitely better than the first movie in its series. The action and acting were very good, especially considering that Robert Pattinson is new to acting. The special effects were better than expected. The ending leaves you hanging but that is what a lead-in movie does...lead you in to wanting to see the next in the series. All-in-all it was thrilling to watch!

Way better than the 1st movie. Thankful they changed the director and stuck fairly well to the book. Of course there were corny parts but most movies have those!

Much better than the first movie. I thought the action scenes were done well, most of the effects were better than I expected and the soundtrack is great.
There are a few moments of awkward dialogue (just like the first... ) and some of the serious scenes were laughable (the dream scene with sparkly Bella comes to mind).
But overall, a good film. I'll definitely see the next.

i qualify my review with this: if you are a fan of the books, you will most likely LOVE this movie. kristen stewart was phenomenal, as was taylor lautner. robert pattinson phoned it in just a bit in this one. i'm hoping he amps it up in the next.

Overall, I thought the movie was pretty good. There were a few different parts in the movie from the book but overall, I thought it was great. Nothing too drastic was changed. I think it's a decent movie to take a child too. Can't wait for Eclipse now!!

I gave into the hype and saw new moon.
this movie is really written for a younger audience.
anyone under 20 would be mesmorized by the scenery and ignore the horrible acting and weird
dialogue pauses. I think this movie could have been cut down to 90-100 minutes and still had the same impact.

I thought it ran kinda slow in some places, and the ending just sucked, the way it just stopped like that. But other than that, I believe it's gonna be, for me, like Twilight. I'm going to have to watch it two or three more times before it actually grows on me. I will admit that I can't wait for Eclipse to come out though.

I loved the twilight saga new moon it is one of the best series ever. I thought that the acting was excellent and that edward and bella didnt have any problems as most of the critics were saying due to them dating in real life i think it added to the flair between them in the movie. i would deffinatly see this movie again and agin in theaters i have now seen it 3 times. i would strongly suggest to seeing this movie

Overall, I thought the movie was very good - excellent graphics and of course beautiful scenery (actors and terrain alike). I was disappointed however, that the story line did not include more vampire involvement. I love Edward and his family - there just wasn't enough vampire action. Even the horrible Victoria was just "lurking" but never really brought to light in any kind of confrontation. I like the first movie much better.

I really liked this movie. I did not really like the first one. I felt to rushed through the movie. New Moon seemed to follow the books pretty well. There were a few changes but nothing drastic. I really loved the series of books (and with my last name being Cullen you can only guess at the questions I get). Kristen's acting is not up to par and I believe this movie may have made me change to Team Jacob. I think that the Volturi gave the best performance of the film. Michael Sheen was awesome as Aro.

I went to see this movie last night with hesitations after being disappointed by Twilight. I have to say I'm still disappointed. Save your money and rent it. They are taking to much out from the actual story and putting in things that were not in it. The acting is very poorly done and over all it just stunk. This series so far is the acting worst Kristen's done so far. The only upside is Taylor (Jacob) takes his shirt off :) Stick with the books, so much better.

I am one of those Twi-moms. I absolutely love the saga. I was worried about this one since I wasn't very happy with Twilight. I thought Kristens acting was horrid, and they changed it too much from the book. New Moon I loved, was very happy with how it turned out, and the things that changed from the book were done well. The scene with the Volturi was one of my favorites. I wish Kristens acting had improved some, but that's the only negative thing I have to say. The wolves were well done, and the 'phasing' was smooth. I've seen it twice so far, will be at the stores the day it's released on DVD, and will be waiting in line for the midnight showing of Eclipse.

While I found the entire book series to be entertaining the movies(both so far) are lacking in both detail and substance.Bella remains mopey and whiney and it's hard to find any sympathy for her self involvement.Rob Pattinson is eye candy at best and with the exception of Jacob the other characters are never really formed to add to the story but merely revovle around Bella and Edwards finally being reunted.You can save your ten dollars and wait for the video!!!!

I was hesitant to see New Moon since I thought that Twilight was such a joke compared with the book. I am so glad that a friend convinced me to go see it in the theater. I almost got right back in the ticket line to buy another ricket for the next show! I was surprised at first to see that Eclipse is opening in June 2010. Usually they make us wait at least a whole year before getting to see sequels. THANK YOU for knowing that we would have died if we had to wait a whole year for Eclipse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know the saying - the book is better than the movie. Well in this case that is true. New Moon is better than Twilight, partly because Kristen Stewart didn't play Bella as such a winer. The Volturi scenes in Italy were confusing but action packed with fighting. I believe if you didn't read the book you may not have followed the movie well. Overall though I liked the movie and will see it again and purchase the DVD when it's out.

New Moon was above and beyond my expectations. It beat the quality of Twilight in every way. The acting was better, the set was gorgeous, the dailogue improved 100%! I was very impressed with it. And it stuck really close to the book, which is a must for me. I was very pleased with this movie and can't wait for the next one.
