As someone who spent the entire duration of the first movie saying "they didn't follow the book at ALL!", I must say I went into this one with low expectations.
WOW! I was completely blown away! Chris Weitz did an EXCELLENT job on this film, not only does he follow the book to an exact, but he made it a beautiful experience.
I left the theater in grand anticipation for the June 20'th release of Eclipse.

When the most memorable moment of a movie is a scene where every female in the audience between 6 and 60 gasps at the irrelevant removal of a t-shirt by Mr. Tall and Handsome (both light and dark), you know most guys in the audience are in for a groaner.
This chick-flick might serve to advance the prurient interests of the teen to cougar crowd, but does little to advance the story...at least not for the first hour. It seems that the author, as well as the movie studio, dragged this story out into a second tome to milk the Twilight craze for as much money as they could get...and it worked.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

After I went to see twilight not really wanting to go because I read the book and the movie is never as good. Let me tell you it was noting like it hated it. So when new moon came out I was a little skeptical about going. But I went to the Thursday night opening of it and wow it was really close to the book and seeing as new moon is my favorite of the books that's saying a lot it really did it justice. I wish this director would of made twilight to. Go see it its great you can even skip twilight. I just went for the third time in one week.

I just saw the movie for the 2nd time with my 9 and 6 year old girls. They absolutely loved it, and it was even better the second time around for me. The most refreshing thing about this movie is no foul language and no explicit scenes. I waited in line outside for about an hour and a half with my friends, and it was totally worth it. Go Team Jacob!!!

I enjoyed the saga, Seeing Twilight is what prompted me to read the next 3 books. I imagine the 13-17 crowd found New Moon very appealing, I am much older. I thought that the new Direction was lacking from the 1st movie. Slow and alittle sappy in spots. Action parts were very well done, but few. Not for under 12 crowd. Content a little darker than 1st.

Absolutely loved the second movie in the saga. It really keeps with the book and the new director did a great job! Storyline is awesome and so are the special effects! Can't wait to see the next one in June (Eclipse). Even got one of our male friends hooked on it now, who normally isn't into "chickflicks". He said he enjoyed it as well and wants to see all of them now. Go see it; you won't be disappointed!

I'm just being honest. This film is not going to receive any major accolades and after view both Twilight films it is understandable. The lead characters are wooden with a minimum of two facial expressions. Key point in the plot are constantly left on the cutting room floor (not everyone has read the books). And most importantly, the few people involved in this movie who actually do know how to act get a small amount of screen time.
Having said all of that, this movie was fun for what it was. It is entertainment. The phasing was amazing and I am always dazzled by Edward's sparkles. I've read all four books so I always know what's going on and I love seeing some of the characters brought to life.

New Moon was great. Much better than I expected. There is only so much of the book you can fit into two hours but, the movie hit all the high points. Definitely worth the wait!! I'm so glad we don't have to wait a year for Eclipse to come out!

This movie I thought was better with Jacob Black in it, because personalily Ithought that he added more action to the movie. I did notice that they cut out some scenes in the book that would really make the movie better but it was still a very good movie. At the end I thought that they could have done it better because he asked her to marry him and then it just ended with not having a pause of time to see Bella's facial expression. But i did enjoy the movie and i cannnot wait until Eclispe comes out!

But hey, lets face it- the books are always better than the movies, they always have more detail!! And I noticed while watching it, that there were some quotes from Eclipse in there, did anyone else notice that too? And New Moon was a lot better than Twilight, I was a little worried before going in because I didn't much care for the way they set up Twilight, and I was thinking it might be the same way. It brought me to tears when Edward left Bella, just like it did in the book. The movie was overall good, and I hated and loved the ending all at once, it had me longing for more.

After reading (and thoroughly enjoying) the full series of books that my teenage kids were raving about, I was completely let down by the first movie... and even more so with this sequel. Much more than the typical book-to-movie degradation of story depth, this movie was just plain awful... highlighted (lowlighted?) by absolutely terrible "acting" performances. None more so than the Edward character; who is in my opinion, is terribly cast. I really don't get what all the buzz is about... even my teenage daughters were laughing at this movie... and my 12 year old daughter actually fell asleep in the final 1/2 hour. Save your $$ and don't waste your time... this one is TERRIBLE.

Let's face it, the movies are never as good as the books, and those books are addictive. Having said that, it was a very entertaining film, technically better than the first film, but not as emotionally moving or moody. I could, however, feel Bella's pain and angst during the breakup scene and they made her ensuing depression quite evident. Unfortunately, they didn't represent either hers or Edward's confusion and anguish at all during their reconciliation, so that was very disappointing and I felt it left Edward's character incredibly flat. They also didn't show her true attachment to Jacob when leaving for Italy. I think that the writers really should consult fans on their ideas for story continuity and importance.

I liked the movie and so did my sister who never read the books. I do recommend that you read the book before seeing the movie. I am definetly a Jacob fan now,Wow I am 33 and thought he was so hot! Edward kept looking down or to the side most of the movie. Watch and you will see what I mean. I love the books which I still think the movies could be a lot better. Still a improvement from the last.

Great movie. Very refreshing to go see a movie with no foul language, no blood and guts..just a clean, romance movie. Great for famlies with values. I'm not into horror flicks, and that is what at first I thought this was, given it is about a vampire. Very, very well done. It was the time my husband I went to the movies on Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see the next sequel.

I thought "New Moon" was great!!! The wolves looked great!!! Definitely a step up from "Twilight". Loved the action of the wolves and the Volturi. The director did a great job at staying close to the book, which is what I like to see.

As a 49 year old mother of two, the premise of a vampire saga did not, in any way, entice me to read a book or see a movie on the subject. However, my 21 year old daughter insisted that I read Twilight, and THEN see the movie with her. Being the pushover that I am when it comes to my kids, thank goodness, I did as I was told and have never been more pleased. The books are an excellent read, and the movies are an unprecedented joy...given the usual disappointment when viewing a movie after devouring (pun intended) the book. Twilight was just an appetizer. New Moon took us all to the next level. Excellent casting. Fabulous acting. Bravo, and can not wait for Eclipse. Stephenie Meyer deserves ever single million she collects.

Okay, so Kristen Stewart is completely useless as an actress, I mean absolutely terrible. BUT the chemistry between her and Taylor Lautner was FABULOUS and that made the movie more than worth watching. Not to mention he's incredibly hot. As for Robert Pattinson, he's doing a good job but I don't understand why Bella and Edward are together based on their chemistry onscreen. See the movie and expect tons of heat between Jake and Bella... I'm not holding my breath to see the whole Bella and Edward romance come back though.

New Moon was a great movie. I thought Kristen Stewart played Bella even better this time around. And Chris Weitz stayed loyal to the book. Also, in my opinion, the makeup was much better in this film...the vapires actually looked like vampires...loved the contacts. CGI wolves were amazing, as well.
