I really liked this movie! Have seen it twice so far! Do I think it will win Academy Awards, no... But the characters are likeable and beyond the whole vampire/werewolf thing it depicts fairly accurately a young woman's journey at that given age. The intensity of first love, the confusion, the friendships, the loss.
However, I'm a little confused why this movie was titled "New Moon" considering there are no parallels made to the moon. I'm guessing the book probably explains the title better than the movie did.

my girlfriend made me sit in line for two hours to see twilight last year. after seeing it i read all the books and loved them "i never read, ever" i personally dont believe new moon met my expectations. the ending was lame, half the movie was just bella hating life, then loving jacob. the movie was confusing and hard to follow. the book wasnt. its deffinetly not the movie of the year, and no way would i see it again anytime soon.

The movie was good. Some of the scenes were drawn out and some went by really fast. It was definitely brighter than the first movie, which I thought was often too dark, but there was a lot of stuff left out that I felt was important to the movie, but only because I had read the books prior to going to see the movie. Kristen's acting was better in this movie but Robert's was only so-so. Of course, Taylor's acting did shine as he was in much of the movie. The explanation of him being a werewolf was not as good as it could have been, but the process of his change from man to wolf was really good.

Excellent.....great depiction of the book....Edward is still my favorite but Jacob is a great actor and is way cuter in the movie than the book portrays.

I think that they did an excellent job with this movie. The werewolves weren't too animated and they did a great job staying with the book!! The ending was perfect and I can't wait until June 30 to see Eclipse!!!

loved this movie! Of all the twilight books, New Moon was my least favorite, but I thought the movie was GREAT!! way better than the book!
Really makes you fall in love with Jacob and yet still LOVING Edward. Really love the way it stayed true to the story in the book and I CANNOT WAIT FOR Eclipse!!!

If you liked Twilight, you'll love this movie. Last time you got to know the characters, now you can really feel their emotion. Can't wait for the DVD and "Eclipse". Wow, Stephenie, you're an amazing writer.

New Moon is so much better than Twilight. The acting has improved very much, and the movie actually funny when it's supposed to be funny. Go see this movie; you'll actually enjoy it. (The worst part is when Alice shows her vision to the Volturi. It's so bad it's funny.)

I had no knowledge about the history of this genre. I was pleasantly surprised with this movie, as a far north of the13 to 25 year old group. The writing, acting, special effects were all very well done. The script; no cursing, no sxx, no drugs, was very well written and performed. I will now get the first one on DVD and see the next one at the theater.

OMG! What a brilliant brilliant film. I don't think there was a single thing I didn't like about this movie. I loved the incredible heat and chemistry between Bella and Jacob and the subtle "war" between Jake and Mike for Bella's affections was hilarious. Tyler Lautner is H.O.T! I cannot wait for Eclipse now!

This movie followed the book more than Twilight did. Kristen Stewart did a remarkable job with Bella's character she just gets her. Robert Pattinson did a exquiste job with Edward and Taylor Lautner was fabulous as Jacob. Chris Weitz did a fabulous job directing he really brought the book out there to you with his exceptionally gifted cast.

Kinda surprised at some of the sceens. It looked really cheap the way the action sceens were like when they were driving in the car and the bike. It was so fake it was like a 1960's movie. It was a very slow movie for sure not as good as the first. Not bad but not great we would give it a 5 of 10.

I thought that the movie was really well directed and that the actors portrayed their characters a lot better in this than they did in twilight. They stayed pretty true to the book and the scenes that we're added into the movie fit well. I would see this movie again and again.

Characters lacked believable strength. Felt as if I was watching a tv soap opera versus a movie adaptation of a book my daughter and I enjoyed. Enough steroid references too. It was obvious from the pre-release hype about the movie that the characters required motivation and training.

I honestly do not get the appeal of this movie or of this book series, which I have read. The acting in the movie is mediocre, the story is ridiculous, and the relationships portrayed are really, really dysfunctional. One redeeming factor is the scenery, which is beautiful.

A true Twilight fan will appreciate the screen adaptation of the novel New Moon. As much as I enjoy the relationship between Edward and Bella, I truly saw "Jacob" come to life before my eyes on screen. The character played by Taylor Lautner was the epitome of the "good guy" in any story you just want to see get the girl.
He was the hotheaded youth who also had shades of wisdom beyond his years. His anger was understood and in many ways justified. He didn't hide how he felt. I think Lautner's portrayal was very warm and authentic. I was originally "Team Edward" all the way, but Taylor Lautner's "Jacob" almost made me want Bella to make a different choice.
Kudos to the newcomer!

My daughter and I loved New Moon! It followed the book so much better than the first movie. It left you wanting more, so it's a good thing we only have to wait until June:) We will definitely be going to the movies to see it again!
