This is the best love story and the morals displayed are exceptional. It is very hard to find a movie about a love story that is clean enough to take my 8 yr old grandson to. He loves the movies and the books. I have recommended it to anyone that has not read the books or seen the movies. I have seen it twice already and getting ready to see it a third time. Can't wait to see Eclipse.

Loved the books!! The movie follows them quite nicely, but it was so cheesy! The acting is a little lame, but I did enjoy the storyline.

Unlike the HP series, the New Twilight movies are, in essence, their own entities. Bella, for example, is a far stronger woman than in the books (where she is weepy a good deal of the time)
The only hmmm... I had for this movie was Alice. For a pixie like character, they had her dressed (with the exception of the bday party) in old lady clothes... omg... the hair!!! Bad hair. Alice is better than that, folks.
Was surprised by how well Taylor fared as Jacob the Man. (the audience gave an audible sigh when he removed his shirt to aid the bleeding Bella)
Fans young and less than young (we went this past weekend on my 35th birthday) are leaving the theater pleased. (Though the ending... auugh)

I am a 40 year old twilight Mom and I loved the movie. It was done so much better than Twilight, the coloring, the acting, the special effects, following the book. I loved the ending. The casting was awesome....the Volturi Rock!! I have seen it three times and plan to go again. Can't wait for Eclipse.

I've read all the books and it was great to see on the big screen. Very close to the book which is what I like about the movie. The book is definitely better than the movie because you get MORE details in the book. I agree with the other readers that there could have been more action. Also, I think they could have done a better makeup job on Edward (It didn't look as natural as the first movie) and Bella looked too made up as well.

The movie was good, but I too was waiting for all of the action that was in the book, There was more music than dialog. Very Young actors are obvious. I hope Eclipse is better.

It's obvious the vast majority of critics who wrote negative reviews for this film never read the novel. Both my wife and I are Twilight Saga fans, an we both agree that this interpretation is as accurate as Peter Jackson's Ring Trilogy films.
The only quibbles I have are hold-overs from Twilight: Jake and Emmett aren't large enough, and Rosalie isn't beautiful enough. Other than those criticisms, this film is spot-on. See it now.

What took the books chapters to say, the movie successfully accomplished with a few lines of dialogue. What took chapters of dealings with a written rather whiny Jacob to get across in the book took mere moments with a much more mature Jacob in the movie.
If you dislike the book Jacob, like I do, you find yourself actually liking his character.
Bella's nightmares and her depression were portrayed in a very tragic way and they made it so it was not a glorified, teenage depression but one of true heartache and a feeling of nothing more or less than absolute loss.
The volturi scene and left you as awed as it did flinching. The wolves were amazing! I can't say enough about the cgi on them.

Went with my daughter who had to see it and it was as stupid as the book. Why anyone thinks encouraging young girls to give up their lives for a crush is a healthy concept is beyond me.

I've read all of the books more than once and I just wanted to say that the movie was good, but the books (as in most cases) were so much better! I agree with the writter below, I was looking for more action and it just wasn't there. Can't wait to see how they step it up again in Eclipse!!

i think the portrayal from book to film was amazing. The images were beautiful. The only thing I had a problem with is that i felt like the action wasn't as thrilling as i expected. I kept waiting for something to happen and it didn't. I do think that the reason for this was the fact that it was in the media so much. There were too many sneak peaks and pictures out that most of the movie was shown before it even hit theaters. I hope next time, Eclipse is not so overexposed.

Read the books...found the movie fun to watch....thought the books were better (which is usually the case). Got some laughs and enjoyed seeing it but am really glad I did not wait in line for it or stay up late to see it at midnight on opening weekend.

I thought the movie was good. I haven't read the book yet so I cannot make the comparison. I did feel that the movie did drag at times. I would've liked to see more of Edward than Jacob.

Loved the visual portrayal, and although most movies are NEVER quite as good as the books, I enjoyed this movie for the action, the look, the feel and and keeping the story moving in the right direction. Definitely captured the essence of key characters' relationships and gave the viewer a "good idea" of things to come.
I highly recommend that any TWILIGHTERS see the movie with an open mind as it is an interpretation of the book..rather than exactly as the book is written. yeah Stephanie Meyers for keeping our young people hooked into a good ol' romance.

I've read the twilight books a bunch of times, because I'm a little too obessed, and I was really excited when I saw it. So much eye candy in this movie its incredible. I missed the Cullens' interaction in this particular 'move-book', but overall it was done wonderfully. The acting was awesome, the special effects were great and the time flew by, making me want for more.

I was already a big fan of the Twilight book series. I liked the first movie and thought they did a pretty decent job for having such a low budget. With the new director and new budget, I thought the new movie was really good. I felt excited and I laughed and had a great time watching it. I thought it coincided really well with the book (except for maybe one or two parts-anyone who has read the book and seen the movie will know what I am talking about). Great job!
I find myself very excited for Eclipse to come out in the summer!
